121 Issue #1

Jack lay in his empty bed as he enjoyed his first day off in months. Emma was off at work, Stella and Rachel were on a date, the Stepfords were shopping in Paris, Generation X was off on a mission with Banshee, and none of his friends needed a sitter.

This was the first morning where he did not have to help anyone so Jack was going to just relax without even heading to any of his labs or doing any research.

"Hello there, Frost. A spectacular morning we are having, is it now?" Loki asked as she appeared out of nowhere

"Fuck me!" Jack subconsciously cursed

"Well I've never had anyone be so direct but you are handsome enough to meet my taste," Loki said before starting to take off her cape

"Nope. Nope. Not what I meant, Loki. What do you want?" Jack sat up before grabbing his shirt Emma threw on the floor the night before so he was wearing more than just shorts

"Hmm. A pity. I've been told that only Umar surpasses by skills in the bedroom," Loki pouted

"Her legend has reached even Asgard?" Jack asked curiously

"Of course. 'Best lay in the 9 Realms and beyond', is how she is described by others," Loki said while walking around the room and picking up various photos and items placed around it

"Wow. Her fame reaches even... nope! Getting off track. What are you doing here, Loki?" Jack asked once more

"Tsk. You need a bit more chaos and mischief in your life, Mr. Frost."

"There is so much chaos in my life right now that it does not make any sense. And you're stalling once again. Last chance, Loki," Jack warned

"Fine. Fine. I just got back from Victor's place. The is near for the assault on the realm of the Dark Elves. They are having their once per decade Great Bleeding in a few weeks which will weaken them. But we need to be within their realm within a few days before they seal it off," Loki finally explained his true intentions

Jack's mind immediately began to put it all together. Thinking through thousands of scenarios, there was only one viable one.

This trip was an extended journey that would last weeks, if not months. They all could not be gone for so long. Emma was needed to ensure the Hellfire Club did not go wild in both of their absences while Doom was still the leader of Latveria.

That left the attacking forces to consist of Morgan, Jack, and Loki. Jack explained this to Loki then asked for her opinion.

"You have the most experience with them. What do you say our chances are with just the 3 of us?"

"I'm honestly unsure. They are not a true kingdom but instead many warring tribes with the strongest tribe calling their leader the king or queen. Although there is usually peace between most tribes, small wars break out all the time between specific tribes.

Their strength could be the weakest of all the 9 Realms or surpass even the Asgardians depending on the year," Loki replied honestly

Jack held his chin as he tried to think of how they should proceed.

"Then we will tell Doom to abandon Latveria and the 4 of us go conquer it without Emma. A nation divided is the easiest nation to conquer. Their numbers are the thing that I'm least worried about though.

Their civilization is as old as yours so they must have gathered some treasures. So as long as they don't have anyone that is truly powerful and we don't fall into any traps, we have nothing to worry about."

"Hehe. That's good then," Loki said before walking towards the window. Before leaving, she turned and asked Jack a question, "Do you want to hear something interesting, Jack?"

"Sure. Always up to hear something interesting," Jack said while putting some sweatpants over his shorts. He needed to start doing recon and finalizing the plan.

"That must be why people like you. I have asked around and tell that you are quite popular all over New York among various groups. You give off this feeling that you're willing to listen to anything. So here is the rest of my story that the others haven't heard.

I have always been the cause of Ragnarok. My actions have always been the first domino to topple over all the other ones. No matter how small it is or how meaningless a task I think I have succeeded or failed, it always ends up with Ragnarok.

So then I tried to stop it. Prevent Ragnarok from ever happening. But when I actively tried to stop it, my actions just made it occur faster and more violently.

I have rebranded myself to be called the God of Mischief, Lies, and Trickery but I originally had a different title. I was Loki, the God of Chaos. Because no matter what I did, nothing but chaos lay in my wake.

That is my story. Now here is my question. Do you believe what we are doing is right? Because I have had several lifetimes and thousands of years to think it over. And I'm just not sure."

Loki had a lot of her chest and mind. She was so close to achieving her goal but she still had to question if this was the right decision.

Jack smiled when he heard her ask this. He asked himself so many times as he was building Eden and Utopia.

'Am I doing the right thing? What if Xavier is right? What if Magneto is right? What if none of us are right? What if what I am doing is pointless?'

But once he finished Eden. Once he saw the city for the first time from the air. All of his doubts vanished.

Even without seeing a single mutant step within its bounds, he still felt proud and confident in the new realm he was building for his people.

"I know what I have done is right. I don't know if what I'm doing or planning for the future is right though. But that is the thing, Loki. Unless you have precognition, you never know until it is all over. And even then, you might not know for another year or ten years or thousand years.

So there is no need to worry about it now. You just need to make a decision and stick with it. Besides, what is that phrase you are always saying?"

Loki turned back to Jack and flashed him a smile before she teleported away.

'He is right. I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose.'
