Prologue: Isekai by an Ancient Dragon

I always wondered why all Isekai in webnovel or fanfiction always starts the same way.

Either the main character(s) gets summoned to a parallel world to defeat a demon king.

Or a poor guy tries to save a child or a pretty girl from being run over by a truck by taking the hit for them only to find himself in front of some deity who gives them cheater powers or systems.

Either it is a person with a serious illness or an unlucky life who will be given compensation for his next reincarnation.

Or they meet an old vampire who travels through the multiverse in search of entertainment only to find himself in the most ridiculous situations.

It's a thought that runs through my head every time I read one of these books.

But I procrastinate, I introduce myself, dear readers, my name is Akatsuki Amagiri, I am a simple student in applied science at a university in Paris.

My name is Japanese but I am half, I have a French father and a Japanese mother.

Since my youngest age, I was educated in both cultures and could see my share of things opening doors that a person with only one can bring and so I always had an overflowing imagination and a good deduction spirit.

That's what got me into writing fan fiction where I could let my creativity flow.

But all those years of writing and imagining couldn't prepare me for what I'm experiencing now

???: So you are the child announced to save our race and our world

I find myself in front of a big dragon with scales shining of nine colours, I couldn't help but admire the beauty of these scales although the pressure that the dragon gives off gives him a divine aura as if he was a god-king, this aura urges me to kneel in front of him but I resist as much as I can and force myself to stand but with difficulty, finally, the meditation sessions at the temple are serving me well.

Akatsuki (thought): Ok buddy, analyze your situation, you're in front of a real dragon considering the pressure your body is under, this dragon seems to be of a divine nature, let try to see why we're in front of him before we die stupidly.

Akatsuki: Hello...Mr. Dragon...

I say to him, trying to be as breathless as possible from the pressure.

Dragon: Oh, look at that, he's able to stand up and greet me politely while enduring my pressure, really interesting.

Akatsuki: Not to be offensive... but who am I speaking with? My name is Akatsuki Amagiri.

Dragon: A mortal like you dares to ask a god-like me to introduce himself to you?

The pressure becomes even stronger than before

Akatsuki: Hey, I was just being polite, you know. My family follows a few simple rules: If you show kindness and it's returned, help the person as best you can, but if they show hostility, return that hostility 100 times.

Dragon: Oh, for a child of men you are a very simple way of thinking but I like it.

All of a sudden the pressure around me disappears

Akatsuki: Fiu, I thought I was going to die.

Dragon: Sorry for the welcome, I just wanted to test your character under the pressure of imminent death. And I have to say you did well, the last person went into cardiac arrest.

Akatsuki (thought): It's kind of normal that he went into cardiac arrest, a normal person doesn't expect to meet a dragon, I'm holding on because I'm very open-minded but that's it.

I let out a sigh before looking the dragon in the eye

Akatsuki: So Mr Dragon God, why am I honoured to be in your presence?

Dragon: You are here because I need your help little man.

Akatsuki: Okay, there can only be two reasons for a god to need the help of a human either to keep him entertained or he needs

Dragon: ...a favor. That's right, I... No, my race needs you.

Akatsuki: Heh?! Why me? I'm not the most qualified for this kind of thing.

Dragon: I've been watching you for a while now, and you're very different from most humans I've seen in my long life, much more different from those in my world who only think we're useful to them to become more powerful.

Akatsuki: I don't think I'm as different from those humans as you think, it's just that my environment and upbringing has made me what I am, that's all.

Dragon: You're right, that's why it has to be you, I've looked at your memory and I know what will help you, umu, you'd make a perfect host for my power and to succeed me as an Ancient Dragon.

Akatsuki: Ancient Dragon? What are you talking about?

Dragon: You'll understand when the time comes, I'm sure you'll succeed where he failed. When the time comes you will be the successor to my title of supreme dragon god of the Realm of Douluo.

Hearing the name Douluo, I look at the dragon with surprise because I know this universe

Akatsuki: Wait...

Dragon: Have a safe trip, child.

A light encompasses both of us, and this is how I came to carry the legacy of one of the spirit beasts that created Planet Douluo.
