Meeting Garp

After dropping off Percy at Marineford, Zed was tasked with dealing with taking care with the newly emerging Kaido and the Beast pirates while Rosati was dealing with Charolette Linlin and her growing family in the new world. No one was chasing after Whitebeard as of right now. Sengoku was too busy chasing after Shiki leaving Whitebeard to run rampant in the New World. Garp was asked to be the fourth admiral after the God's Valley Incident, but he rejected. He told the fleet admiral that he did not want that much responsibility, made sense. As such, Whitebeard was free.

Percy was waiting on the docks on the Marineford harbor waiting for one of his idols from the manga, Monkey D. Garp, what a fun character Oda-sama created. Percy knew he was strong, very strong. He could only wait in anticipation while waiting for one of the strongest men to train him while he knew Garp would be chasing after the future king of the pirates, Gol D. Roger.

[This will be interesting] Percy thought to himself. [I hope that I won't die in the process. Zed told me that I'm almost at the vice admiral rank in terms of strength, if Garp can teach me haki, he predicts that I can break through the threshold and barely reach vice admiral and with some years of experience, then I get become an admiral].

Percy chuckled to himself, he knew that by that point Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji will be the admirals, there will be no place for him; unless they have 4 admirals in the navy. That will be the day though.

As Percy was lost in his own thoughts, a marine battleship pulled up to the harbor with a dog on the bow. On it stood a man, tall with a shit eating grin and laughing

"BWAHAHAHAHA where is that Sengoku?" Monkey D Garp jumped off the ship as it pulled into the harbor.

Percy quickly pulled up along side him as he was strutting forward as Garp was walking to headquarters.

"Sir, my name is Percy and I am assigned to you by Admiral Sengoku and Fleet Admiral Kong."

"I remember, boy. BWAHAHAHAHA. Before we set sail though and you follow me, I need to know how strong you are, can't have you pulling me down as I chase after Rogers."

Percy was silent for a moment. "Fine, I can do that, do you have an empty island we can spar, I tend to destroy a lot of things when I battle."

"BWAHAHAHA, alright I know the perfect place. I used to train there so I know there is no one there now. I'll go report to the fleet admiral and my men will resupply and then we'll head right back out again. Be ready in an hour."

"Yes sir" Percy saluted as Garp strolled away. He then prepared to sailed to the second half of the Grand line.

[I wonder what Garp is really like.] Percy thought. [I know he is a lovable, protective, grandfather, in his later years, but that's not right now. Also he's an idiot, but not stupid. I'll have to go all out to learn haki from Garp himself, I wonder if I'm strong enough to impress the man, I mean he did fight evenly with Roger and Xebec.]

At an island not far away from Marineford Garp and Percy were stretching themselves reading to spar with one another. The other marines on the ship were speaking with one another and started to place bets

"how long do you think the newcomer is going to last, apparently he is still an ensign?"

"I don't know, he was trained by admiral Zed for a year though, 100 belli says a full ten minutes."

"I'll take those odds" one marine yelled on the side of the two marines who were whispering. Many others were similarly placing bets.

"BWAHAHAHA, you hear that kid. The boys on the ship are saying that your only going to last at most 15 minutes against me. What do you have to say about that?" Garp asked Percy.

[God dammit] Percy screamed internally. [I'm going to kick all their asses when I get back there, 15 minutes is far too long against the strongest man in the navy. I don't even know haki yet.]

"Yes sir." Percy mumbled. "I'll make sure to exceed your expectations." As he finished his sentence, black smoke started emanate from his body.

Garp raised his eyebrow, [interesting] Garp thought. [it seems like the boy does have some control over the darkness fruit after all].

Percy waited for Garp to signal to begin, after Garp motioned him to start Percy yelled internally

[Kurouzu] as his hand turned pitch black. Garp was surprised. His feet started to shift towards Percy along with everything on the island including the marine battleship.

"damn it, that's some power" a marine on the boat said.

"Xebec's power lives on" one of the commodore's that fought alongside Garp looked at Percy solemnly.

Garp just smiled and laughed,

"BWAHAHA, if I need I'm going to move toward you, might as well move towards you!"

[Soru] Garp appeared an instant above Percy's head and punched Percy into the ground. Luckily Garp did not use haki or he would have been dead, double damage was such a bitch, especially coming from Garp.

Percy was screaming at the top of his lungs. It took him a couple of seconds before he recovered and said

"Kurai ryokō" (dark travel) and teleported far away in the darkness he created.

Percy collected himself and thought,

[I need to think of a method to payback this son of a bitch; shigan, no that's too easy, aha I got it]

He emerged out of the darkness and shouted at Garp while pointing at the sky,

"Dāku sanso" (dark oxygen)

A thick pillar of darkness descended on Garp that robbed him of all oxygen. It was silent for a couple of seconds before the darkness was blasted away by a single punch. A black fist was shown with a cheeky smile attached to it

"You cheeky little shit" Garp smiled at Percy, "that was interesting, BWAHAHAHA, you pass, let's go."

"Yes sir," Percy said as his vision started to fade. Reaching out to the stars was his limit, he need to train in order to do that more consistently.

[Well], he thought before the passed out, [at least I'm going to learn haki].
