Garp Appears

It's been one month since Percy has been 'banished' to the New world and he was still in a bad mood. For one, there were no one to vent his anger on since his ship did not encounter any pirates. And two, he hasn't figured out how to harness his conqueror's haki. He asked his teacher Zed about it, but the admiral could not help him. Zed was unable to use conqueror's haki, therefore he could only describe what he witnessed, not what to do.

Percy was in his office concentrating on his new power when he heard his den den mushi go off

*peroperopero peroperopero peroperopero*

Percy picked up the receiver,

*katcha* "This is vice admiral Percy"

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA" the other voice on the line started to laugh, "I heard you pissed off some big wig kid, and got sent here to do the navy's dirty work."

*sigh* "Yes sir" Percy said as he felt a headache coming on. Of all people to call him, it was the one person besides his teacher Zed that he could never hit, Garp.

"I see that you are near the Kupp Isles. How far are you?"

"We are about 5 hours away Garp. Why? You want to gloat in my face too?" Percy said sarcastically forgetting who he was talking to.

"BWAHAHAHAHA that too. No, I'm gathering all the nearby marines. I found Roger's location and I want to capture him for good this time."

"...so Roger is near my location."

"More or less, I just need you and the other vice admirals to stall for me while I arrest Roger, and then poof, we're done."

[Easier said than done] Percy thought thinking of Rayleigh's power plus the other members of Roger's crew.

"Alright I'll be there" Percy said deciding to try ambush the future pirate king. "Who else besides us will come?"

"You, me, Julius, and Take" Garp said as he was preparing to hang up.

"Take, who's that?"

"Oh yeah, I guess you don't know. Take is Rosati's former second in command. He got promoted to vice admiral before you entered the marines. Strong, and fierce. Should be a good line up."

"See you then old man" Percy said as he hung up the den den mushi.

"Orange!" Percy yelled as he was leaving his office. He needed to inform the navigator to set course for Kupp."

"Yeah?" Orange said as she came out of a nearby doorway.

"Get the troops ready, we're about to go into battle."

Five hours later, Percy, Garp, Julius, and Take were sitting on Garp's ship in an office discussing the overall strategy.

"Someone needs to encircle the pirates as we battle them" Julius said as he stared at the map. "Otherwise we will give them an opportunity to escape."

"I assume you want me to take that role" Percy said as he was sitting to the side, "after all, I'm the youngest out of all of us here."

"No sir we need you fighting" Dragon said as he looked at his former instructor. In the past half a year, Dragon has grown stronger and risen to the rank of rear admiral. He is now the second in command of Garp's ship and was in charge of battle strategy for his father's crew.

Percy looked at Garp who was snoring loudly in the corner.

[Doesn't matter if he's young or old, the old man doesn't change] Percy thought as a snot bubble was forming in front of Garp's face.

"Because of your devil fruit, you have the ability to negate other fruit users. It may not be as effective on Roger or Rayleigh, but you can help with Roger's other crewmates. Particularly Taro, he ate the bend- bend fruit making him able to bend anything to his will. It is a nightmare to fight."

"How so?" Percy asked as he never heard about Roger's other crewmates besides those mentioned in the canon manga.

"As I said, Taro can make anything bend, including sword attacks or devil fruit attacks. He is virtually untouchable unless you use haki. I clashed with him several times and was unable to hit him once. No matter me trying to strike him with thunder or trying to blow him away, it didn't work" Dragon said grimacing remembering the humiliation caused by the man.

"So you want me to deal with Taro, I can do that. Anyone else?"

"For now, no" Dragon said as he looked at the vice admiral. "With Taro apprehended, the battle can go a lot smoother and hopefully we can finally catch these pirates."

"Then who is going to cover their escape vectors?" Take asked looking around. "Garp will be busy with Roger, I'm going after Rayleigh, Julius is going after Gaban, and you are fighting Tom and Crocus, and Percy will fight Taro. Who's left?"

"That's why we'll have all the second-in-commands, apart from me, closing their escape routes." Dragon said as he looked at the men around the table.

"If they're there, they can at least delay for a little while we try to catch up, should the need arise."

Julius looked at the plan and said after going over it in his head once more,

"the plan is sound, all that's left is the execution."

The vice admirals nodded and stood up to conclude their meeting.

Garp who was sleeping woke up at that moment and said drowsily,

"You guys figured it all out?"

"Yes sir" Julius said as he started to salute the marine hero, realized that they were the same rank, and slowly put down his hand.

"Good!" Garp said as he too stood up. "Get some rest, tomorrow, we'll be celebrating BWAHAHAHAHA."

[If only it were that easy] Percy thought as he left for his ship. [If only it were that easy.]
