Genuinely good writing. This novel isn't lazy about anything, and doesn't rely on tropes and other writing shorthand to have the reader understand characters or plotlines. As someone with no Chinese background at all (and who despite this persists in reading cnovels), I particularly enjoy the way the author integrates Chinese idioms into the text so naturally - the way they do it doesn't feel like literary or cultural shorthand at all. Instead makes the story such an immersivr experience. Also, the author's research is very thorough and they have built such a realistic empire and harem, all intricate politics run by people who are protagonists of their own stories - I am in awe. It's just really good cross cultural writing. Hands down the best I've ever seen on Webnovel (as someone limited to English). TLDR; really good writing on all fronts, do not start reading at 8pm like I did.

Love it. It's an amazing work. I'm sad I don't have enough money to buy chapters, and it takes me a lot of time to unlock new chapters 😅

Been reading similar stories for years. This is by far 1 of the best ones, if not the best 1 I've come across as of yet. The characters along with the world development it's so vividly described you find yourself a nurse in it. You find yourself almost feeling like you're actually in the novel. The characters are tangible And I love that When I'm expecting something to happen it doesn't always necessarily go that way something usually unexpected happens and I love being kept on my toes like this when reading a novel. I highly recommend it.

I frankly love it. It's the first time ever that I pay to be able to read a book unless it is to buy said book and bring it home.

I was just looking for a new read as small distraction, but I’ve spent the past two days binge reading this novel… The writing style and characters draw you in and really captivate you. Highly reccomend reading this one!

interesting story and character development

The first review I gave since I have this app. I had to, because this story is MARVELLOUS! It is a story that pulls you into the world of this book. To be honest at first the title was not attractive (to me) as I thought it will be lame story but turns out I was WRONG. Just realised the author watched legend of Zhenhuan, this story reminded me of the careful, subtle, realistic interaction between concubine and emperor. The story pays a lot of attention to palace rules which is a plus plus plus point. story development pace is good. I love how author gave hint here and there to piqued readers' interest. Keep you guessing. different POV is refreshing. the one thing I hope for is faster release speed 🥲 because I am catching up soon. and maybe more blushing content between YZY and LY? 🫣🫣 this is also one of the rare chinese background story that reads smoothly in english.

I am only 38 chapters in and one word comes to mind - phenomenal. There have only been a handful of books that have sucked me in and even fewer I feel compeled to review before I‘m even halfway through. This is one of those good books. Real characters love, hate, ship, and desperately want to kill. I’ve just been unbelievably impressed with the writing. Another great transmitigator story worth reading.

There is something so beautiful in the story. I can feel the magic of the "destiny" behind every interaction of the leads. The writer is writing his characters very well, each having their individual characteristics and ways of thinking ( both the leads and minor characters). Really happy I found this novel - definitely one of the best ones I've read so far. Especially big thank you to the writer for really good and understandable writing. Really easy to read and enjoy even for us who's English is just a second language. Ps. I usually do not write the reviews, but this one definitely deserves one <3

Last I heard the author had some health problems. Please heal soon! The story is too good I must read more!
