Chapter 19: Shadow Assault, Black Demon!

A few minutes later, a team of patrolling goblin hunters found more than a dozen dead goblins at the edge of the city.

One of the hunters ran back to report the finding to Geer, while the other goblin hunters carefully searched the surroundings.

Before the goblin hunter reached the 'palace', another team of hunters had found more dead goblins.

When the news reached Geer, the goblin general was furious. He immediately ordered a goblin guard to bring five soldiers to look for traces of an enemy.

However, by this time, Bates had already moved elsewhere, and was continuing to slaughter the goblins.

Time passed, and the goblin guards failed to find any traces of the enemy, yet discovered more and more goblin corpses. There were more than a dozen sites, scattered all over the goblin city.

Geer got angrier and angrier. The other two goblin guards had also split up to look for traces of the enemy.

He'd even brought the goblin priest and the last three goblin guards to join the search.

'It's a pity I can't separate Geer from the other goblins. Oh well, I'll take care of your subordinates bit by bit.' Bates thought to himself, as he hid in the dark.

Seeing that Geer had joined in the search, Bates had stopped slaughtering the ordinary goblins. He hid, and slowly crawled towards a goblin guard that was far away from the crowd.

"Get going and search everything!" shouted the goblins.

The goblin guard was fully armored and held a two-handed greatsword. Bates could feel how powerful he was.

The guard was commanding five goblin soldiers to look where the goblin corpses were found and search the surroundings.

Just as he passed by a bush, a black shadow suddenly jumped out!

Bates had leaped out at the guard, and shouted, "Shadow assault!"

With 25 points of agility and the speed boost from shadow strike, Bates flew like an arrow, and pounced towards the goblin guard.

Before the guard could react, Bates had already torn through it's neck with his fangs. The giant head rolled away, the heavy armor hadn't helped the guard at all.

A system notification sounded.

"Ding! You have killed the goblin guard. Obtained 100 experience points. Obtained 1 Soul Point."

"You have killed the goblin guard. The goblin guard has an elite attribute template. You have obtained the attribute template of the goblin guard."

Suddenly, the five goblin soldiers, who were behind the guard, noticed Bates' figure, and cried out in fear, "Black demon! The black demon has killed the lord guard!"

Bates accelerated and appeared beside the goblin soldiers, then pierced their shoulders with his shining, sharp claws.

"Ding! You have killed a goblin soldier. Obtained 300 experience points."

One soldier's head was smashed into pieces, while another's heart was pierced through.

"Ding! You have killed a goblin soldier. Obtained 300 experience points.".

Before Geer even had time to hear the shouts and cries of the other goblins, Bates had killed the remaining three soldiers. He returned to hiding and disappeared into the grass.

"Find it! Kill It!" roared Geer.

When the news of the goblin guards and soldiers being killed by the black demon reached Geer's ears, the goblin general was enraged.

Ordinary goblins were timid, stupid, and cowardly. As long as it did not affect the reproduction and survival of the race, Geer would not feel any heartache no matter how many died.

However, the goblin guards and soldiers were special, and they helped to create and maintain the Goblin Kingdom. The death of each goblin guard and soldier was a huge loss.

In his fury, Geer was desperate to find Bates and tear him into pieces.

However, Bates had already hidden beside the second goblin guard.

"Shadow ambush!"

His black figure was agile and difficult to catch.

Before the goblin guard could react, Bates had already pounced behind it.

"Demon! Black demon!" it cried out in fear, as it tried to turn and run, but it was already too late!

The last thing it saw was five sharp rays of light flash past its eyes. Its neck was immediately torn in half. Green blood gushed out, and its huge body fell to the ground.

The system notification sounded.

"Ding! You have killed the goblin guard. Obtained 10 experience points."

"You have killed the goblin guard. The goblin guard had an elite attribute template. You have obtained the attribute template of the goblin guard."

Geer started to sprint over, but Bates quickly waved his claws and killed the five goblin soldiers who were about to counterattack. Then he quickly jumped back into the bushes.

Relying on the powerful stealth skill [ shadow assault ], Bates slipped in and out of the shadows without any worry of being found. Unless he was directly exposed in front of the goblins, these stupid monsters would not be able to discover him.

"Bastard!"

"Come out!"

"I'm going to kill you!"

Each goblin yelled, as Geer rushed to the side of the dead guard, and howled in anger. He swung the large knife in his hand, cutting down all vegetation within a few meters.

Losing two guards and 10 soldiers in a row had made him terrifyingly angry, enough to blind Geer's rationality! However, he still was not one of those low-level goblins.

Geer came up with a strategy. He brought five goblin soldiers closer to him. He knew that as long as the guards returned to his side, the black demon would not dare to appear. He then wanted to use the ordinary goblins as bait to lure the black demon out and kill it.

Unfortunately, Geer overestimated his own intelligence and underestimated Bates' speed.

Following orders, the goblin soldiers and ran in Geer's direction. Bates had already been waiting for them, and when the guards were only a meters away from Geer, the demon appeared again!
