6 Chapter 6: The forest demon ( 3 )

P.O.V....

the presence of my mana is moving towards my location. I couldn't hold my excitement since I finally secure a demon.

Though I don't know how powerful is this demon since I don't want to fight a strong foe but after observing his mana for a while I can guarantee that this demon isn't powerful.

His mana my be strong by human standards but it still pale in comparison to mine. I didn't hesitate to cripple him using all of the animals in my control as I waited for the bear to deliver him to me.

A couple of minutes pass on this boulder until I saw a large silhouette from the forest. I didn't need to use my mana or the bird's to tell that it's the bear that is on my control. The bear run just a few meters towards me until it stop. The demon on the bear's jaw looks like it's nearing on death's door. His body injured beyond belief and I could even see a few injured parts of it's body slowly turning into mana.

I specifically didn't finish this demon since frieren's demons tend to dissapear into mana once killed. I don't want to lose my experiment. I still need this demon to know what a demon's brain looks like.

Since using my usual methods to pry inside my mind won't work. looking directly to a demon's brain should help me know what demon's neurons look like. And to do that I need a spell that allowed me to cut open a demon without actually killing them.

I jump out from the boulder as I telepathically command the bear and the flock of birds to follow me. We all manage to arrive to my burrow as the bear walks in with the demon. Thanks to years alone I manage to make the burrow more spacious with the help of wolve's and mole's, making it a bit more spacious for the bear to enter.

The bear drop the demon on the ground, I can feel it was exhuested so I let him rest next to the demon. You know just incase.

I didn't look at the bear as my eyes are way to focus on this demon. Examining it's mangless blood stain skinless body before I raise my finger.

Mana began to rise and formed into a sculpel. I put the mana sculpel down as I visualize cutting it's flesh, leaving trace's of mana that prevent's blood, cells and pain receptors to notice any damage to the body.

I saw my mana skulpel cut smoothly through the demons body but it's blood still pour and turn into dark mana particles. Seeing that the spell I created didn't work for the first time it didn't dissapoint me as I tried again.

I'll make sure to perfect this spell. Since this very spell will help me to my research.

Atla P.O.V

I... Can't believe no one has come to get me....

It's been two days since I've been hiding above this tree yet no one not even Frei could even find me. This game has gone long enough, I should have gotten home but I don't know which way should I go.

I was lost, unable to remember the path which I took. If this old tree isn't close to other tree's that bear fruits I would have starve.

" Rumble.... "

" ..... Sigh "

.... how am I going to find my home.

With my stomach acting up again I guess I have no choice but to eat another fruit again. Climbing up towards one of the branches of the trees I tried to search for any fruits, but after what feel's like an hour of searching I couldn't find one.

As if I have eaten almost all of them.

The pressure from my chest started to feel heavy, my sweat form and drip's down to my skin as I couldn't find a single fruit. My stomach felt like it was screaming at me. Yelling at me as if begging to find something, ANYTHING to eat.

But with nothing to find I have no choice but to get down from the tree. And to be honest I'm sorta afraid.... I don't know what will happen to me since I don't know this part of the forest.

I was kinda stupid for going this far as I'm paying the price of it. Mom has always telling me that which I usually ignored. I climb down the tree, reaching the wild grass as it felt weird touching the ground again.

" Thud "

" rustle rustle.... "

After getting over the tingling sensation of the wild grass I walk away from the old tree and try to retrace my step. The forest felt like a maze as usual but nonetheless I manage to atleast map out on what's familiar to me.

The twisted branches and trees that still has leaves, now felt a bit familiar. The wild grass before me that hid it's difficult slope and rock filled ground was now a bit easy to triverse.

I felt confident, the moment that I am just a few feet away from the tree made me have a bit of hope of going back to the village.

Though I don't know if mom would hug me or punish me I don't care. I just want to get back home. Birds kept singing their songs while the sunlight gave me more hope to continue.

As if the forest was helping me to go to my village. My fear for the forest danger has lessen as I couldn't help but to move even faster.

It was a fun adrenaline to be able to have hope but.... Yet again everything started to become confusing.

The path's aren't what I recognize and the tree's, boulders and even sometimes ponds felt like they aren't suppose to be there.

" Rumble.... "

My stomach rumbled again. This time it felt like it was draining me, never allowing me to focus.

The wild grass felt like it was grabbing my legs and the twisted trees were trying to obscure the path. I don't know if it was hunger or if the forest just suddenly against me now.

I wanted to rest. I really do but I don't know which place to rest. I kept walking forward, hoping to find a good spot until I saw an old dying tree beneath a large burrow.

" Rumble.... "

" Alright alright quiet down. I'm struggling here "

Hunger is really frustrating to feel. Not wanting to continue like this I just decided to rest up under this dead tree before I continue.
