The White Rabbit

"Hello you are tuned to the evening night lights with Frank "Goodie" Hamilton on 1010 AM KCHJ, bringing you the newest of today's pop music as well as some classics. Today, an old friend came up to me and said, "Hey, me and my wife had our first kid this July. He's a boy!", I knew this fellow since grade school. So I says to him, "Have you thought of a name for him?" and he tells me that he is going to name the little boy after me. I tell him that I am thrilled that a little boy is going to be named after me, A little Frankie. He tells me, " Wait your name is Frank, I thought it was Hank?". All the happiness from my face was gone and I go tell this guy, "You were going to name your kid, Hankie? Something nasty old men blow their nose into?"

"Anyways, here's "Rumble", a classic by Link Wray. I dedicate this one to you and poor little Hankie".

The Black chevy filled with the men begins to rev its engine. Chente and Martha both tried to not get the people's attention, almost as if they aren't there. But the driver of the chevy, a big white guy with curly, blonde hair, begins to turn his head to look over to the Martha. Chente looks over to take a good look at the driver but when he does, the driver is already staring back at him behind a pair of black of shades. Chente whips his head to look straight ahead of him to avoid the driver's stare.

The back-seat passengers of the Black Chevy begins to call out to Martha, "Ay pretty woman, ya wanna' ditch that beaner and take a ride wit' us?!". Chente hears this and looks over to see who is calling out to her. A skinny white guy wearing a white T-Shirt with his Sleeves rolled up to his shoulder. On his Left bicep, there is a crudely done Tattoo of a Snake attacking a rabbit. "Hey, Im talking to ya, ya fuckin' Mexican!", he calls out to Martha again.

Martha looks over to Chente, not knowing what to do. "Ignore them Martha", Chente says. However, the back-seat passenger becomes even more obnoxious by calling out to Chente.

"Hey buddy, turn your head when I'm talkin' to you, ya fuckin' Wetback! Listen, I'll give you a dollar for your girl", snickers the skinny white guy. "Man this fuckin' light is taking forever", Chente says to himself.

The driver takes a cigarette and when he lights it, he immediately exhales the smoke towards Chente's car. "That's a nice car you got there", the driver says in a slow and raspy voice. "You want to sell it to me for couple of hundred", the driver continues. Chente doesn't respond to him and the driver says, "Fuck you then, I'll catch you around".

As the light finally turns green, the driver throws his cigarette at Chente's car and races off.

The thickness of the tension is still filled in the car with Chente and Martha. They don't even know what to say to each other. Chente hasn't even started going because he is just so shocked from the encounter. He just looks over to Martha and says, "Fucking crazy white boys." Martha nods her head in agreement.
