Diane is a 20 years old girl who has been denied freedom of speech since her childhood. She didn't have happy days right from elementary school, high school, or even college until where she was now. Nothing hurt her more than the thought of being denied a chance to speak by her own family.

Her mother died when she was giving birth to her and her dad didn't care about anything else apart from the woman in his life. Her stepmother Carolyn Alvez had a daughter with her dad Mike Alvez. Their daughter Sara Alvez received fair treatment from the family including the society since she was given every chance to meet great people.

When it came to Diane Alvez, it was a different story. She didn't have a chance to go anywhere she wanted. Her stepmom was in charge of buying her clothes she always claimed that an ugly girl like was would cause shame to the Alvez family if they recognized her in public. Besides, she always said that Diane had bad luck which caused her mom's death in the labor room. However, Diane was a beautiful girl, her long slim legs and her long blonde hair which went up to her waist.

Carolyn Alvez didn't want Diane to appear in public because she was afraid that Diane would overtake Sara in every aspect. Comparing the two daughters, Diane was very intelligent and smart. Talking of beauty, she even surpassed many supermodels in the country.

It was a Saturday morning and as usual, the family was going out shopping. Of course, Diane was not allowed to step out of her bedroom. Her dad had just come back from a business trip abroad but it didn't make any difference even though he was around.

Just when the mother and daughter duo were going out, Mr. Mike Alvez announced that they had important visitors.

"The Walton's asked to visit us today and most importantly, Mr. Walton's son who is also the heir of Walton's corporation is coming along. They want to marry their son to our daughter." Mike stated expressionlessly while looking at his wife and his daughter Sara.

Sara who knew the heir of Walton's corporation was suddenly surprised by his father's words. What? Did they arrange her marriage with her long-time crush Calvin Walton? Not being able to hide her happiness, Sara ran to her father and hugged him in excitement.

Meanwhile, Carolyn was grinning from ear to ear. Knowing that her daughter was going to marry a family with a good reputation, she couldn't hide her excitement and laughed in her heart when she thought about the unlucky girl who was upstairs waiting for her death.

At least to Carolyn, she didn't do bad things in the past that would cause her daughter bad luck.

A beautiful girl who was quietly sitting beside the tinted window of her room was startled when she had a knock on her door. Days had passed ever since she last stepped out of her room. She was already used to being lonely and not being allowed to see the outer world unless her dad was in the house.

Hearing the knock on the door, she quickly got up because she thought that her dad had returned from abroad. At least she could be outside today.

She quickly headed to the door and opened it but it wasn't her dad who was there. Her stepmom was standing there proudly as always. At the sight of her, Diane felt like puking but she held it since she had some manners in her.

"Hi there my unlucky stepdaughter. Have you been praying inside there so that the almighty takes away your pain hahaha?" Her stepmother's mocking laughter echoed in the bedroom as she walked in to see what the girl was doing.

"Well today, I must let you out so that you witness how my daughter will be taken by her husband to be who is none other than Calvin Walton." Carolyn continued talking pridefully even though Diane was silent.

"Good luck to her then. I will choose to stay inside my room." Diane said respectfully to her stepmom. She didn't want to be blamed later if anything went wrong.

"Are you perhaps jealous of your sister?" Carolyn whispered as she inched toward Diane. Before Diane could step back, a slap landed on her cheek and even though it hurt, she didn't make a sound.

Diane looked at her stepmom before she uttered, "Fine, I will be there to watch my sister's happiness.

Soon, Carolyn smiled triumphantly and walked toward Diane's walk-in closet where her clothes were neatly arranged.

The clothes in her closet were all cheap designs that her stepmom got every time they went out shopping. Carolyn looked around the cheap brands but again she envied how the unlucky girl was neat unlike her daughter Sara who got everything done by the maids.

After a moment of comparing the two girls, Carolyn decided to pick a large dress that wasn't fit Diane. In that way, her beautiful body could be hidden and all eyes could be on Sara.

Diane was still respectful to her stepmom even though she hated her. She took the dress that was handed to her and put it on obediently before she followed Carolyn downstairs.

Sara was wearing a limited edition black mermaid gown from the city's famous designer. The dress hugged her curves perfectly to her satisfaction.

Sara's eyes met the weird figure that was walking downstairs and she couldn't hold her laughter so she burst out holding her stomach.

"You look breathtakingly beautiful sis. I'm afraid my man will choose you and forget about me...awwww." Sara mocked but Diane just kept quiet until she sat on the couch.

She knew that her stepmom and Sara wanted to embarrass her as they always did every time people visited their house.

Finally, the awaited visitors arrived. Mr. Walton the head of Walton corporation, and his wife Maria Walton walked in with their son Calvin Walton. Everyone rushed to welcome them, especially Carolyn who wanted to give a good impression at first sight. Sara also followed because she wanted to gain favor, especially from Mr. Walton. who wanted her to marry his son.

On the other hand, Diane felt uncomfortable for the very first time in her life. She suddenly felt like her outfit didn't suit this kind of place but she still greeted the visitors with respect.

Carolyn was smirking in her head as she observed the way everyone was looking at Diane.

But something annoyed her. The way that Calvin Walton was looking at Diane was off.
