Chapter 05: Graduation Exam Final Part

Chapter 05: Graduation Exam Part 3

Danzo and Hiruzen watched the glass ball speechless because of what they were seeing on it, a black-haired boy sprawled face-first on the ground while a blond kid ran right past him. "*Ahem* well…there are uncontrollable variables when on a mission," Hiruzen said with Danzo nodding in agreement.

"*Cough* you're right."

They watched as Hizashi took himself up and ran with all his might to catch up with Minato, albeit it was too late as Minato had already crossed the line. Hizashi barely finished second as Fugaku was only a few inches behind him.

~~~~~~~
The chunin instructor stood in front of the students covered by injuries; one specific child had an incredulous look on his face as he looked at a blond kid who had a prideful smile.
The instructor looked at the chart he had in his hands, then looked up at the students, "Hmm, more of you made it out than I thought would. I supposed you'd want to know the results, well:
1. Namikaze Minato
2. Hyuga Hizashi
3. Uchiha Fugaku
4. Uzumaki Kushina
5. Inuzuka Tsume
6. Hyuga Hiashi
7. Nara Shikaku
8. Yamanaka Inojin
9. Aburame Shibi
10.Akimichi Choza
Those are the top ten. Anyone else is irrelevant."
When the instructor said that the students who didn't make the top ten felt ashamed by their lack of talent, one boy stood out specifically, Nawaki Senju.
"The next exam will start immediately…." Hearing this, the students had an incredulous look as they started complaining.
"You're crazy old man; I just ran for my life for almost one hour. THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL I'M GOING TO DO ANOTHER EXAM WITHOUT A NAP!" Tsume shouted at the chunin instructor, who kept his composure.
"*Sigh* I wasn't finished talking, Tsume; you'll need to be more patient if you're to survive in the ninja world. You'll be healed first by the best medic ninja in Konoha."
Right on cue, a fair-skinned woman with long straight blond hair appeared in a swirl of flower blossoms.
"Tsuna-nii-chan!? I thought you were on a mission?" Nawaki asked in surprise as he went and hugged his older sister Tsunade Senju.
'Damn, now I know why Jiraiya was such a simp for Tsunade; she's even hotter now than she was in the anime.' Hizashi thought, clearly infatuated by the beauty of the kunoichi.
Tsunade eased out of his brother's grasp. "Now, Nawaki as a prospering ninja, is that how you should act in public?" Realizing that they weren't alone, Nawaki tried to compose himself, but it was futile as a bright grin was still plastered on his face.
Tsunade shook her head with a slight smile. "I finished my mission faster than I thought I would. So the old pervert assigned me with healing you and your little classmates if you suffered any injuries in your exams."
Nawaki seemed surprised by this, then he hesitantly asked her, "D-Does that mean you saw…my performance?"
Tsunade looked at her brother solemnly. "Yes." Hearing Tsunade's reply Nawaki held his head in shame.
"But, despite your placing, you did well. It just so happens that most of your classmates are monsters." Tsunade consoled him as she looked at both Minato and Hizashi, the latter turning his reddened face away as quickly as he could before their eyes met. If anyone had been looking at Hizashi before, they would have seen protruded veins around his eyes.
"Well then, I should probably heal you guys so you can get back to your exams. So line up, the most injured first!" Tsunade shouted, to which the students did what she commanded, forming a line with Minato at the head.
Tsunade was clearly frustrated by the students' damage during the race, which she promised to thoroughly discuss with Hiruzen later. Once the last student who looked like a porcupine was healed, the exams started again.
The chunin instructor approached the student, prompting them to follow him. He took them to another area of the Forest of Death that strategically placed target boards on trees to make them more challenging to hit.
"There are 20 targets; use your kunai or shuriken to hit them; hitting the bullseye will guarantee you extra points. But, if you only manage to hit ten or less, you fail!"
With the instructor's words, the exam began. Minato managed to strike 17 of the targets tying up with Hiashi. In contrast, due to the superior prowess of his byakugan, Hizashi managed to place higher than his brother, tying with Fugaku in the first place.
This made Danzo even more interested in the boy, given that he was capable of rivalling a member of the Uchiha clan who is known for their talent in shuriken Jutsu.
Since the shuriken jutsu test didn't cause any physical is, they moved on to the next exam trap deployment. Shikaku came in first, followed by Kushina, Hizashi, and Minato tying for third place, with Fugaku right behind.
"Next will be trap detection and disarming. Be careful; one wrong move could cost you your lives," the chunin instructor warned to which most of the aspiring ninjas gulped in fear.
The instructor began explaining to them how the test would go. "There are 20 traps set in the forest. You're only required to deactivate 1. Failing to deactivate any simply means you fail this test. You have 1 hour, starting now."
The students seemed reluctant to enter the forest with traps that could supposedly kill them. The same couldn't be said for the Hyuga brothers, as both Hizashi and Hiashi ran off with their byakugans fully activated.
The other kids soon came out of their stupor and followed behind. Using their byakugans Hizashi and Hiashi managed to finish much faster than their classmates. Hizashi finished first, followed by Hiashi, Shikaku, Minato, and Fugaku.
Hizashi's Pov
"So… Minato, I hope you make a lot when we become ninjas," I was sure of victory, given that I already had two first places above him.
The blond-haired kid looked at me with a wry smile while scratching his head. "I don't suppose it would be too late to call it off now?" He asked me, to which I just stared at him deadpanned.
"You know there's no way I'm calling this off. I mean, it's free food," He held his head in defeat when I said that.
"Kushina Uzumaki, pass!" The instructor shouted as Kushina walked off the arena, leaving a bloodied face genin on the ground. She just finished the last exam, applying the three basic jutsus; bunshin no jutsu, shunshin no jutsu, and substitution jutsu, which we learned in the academy in battle.
Kushina walked over to the Hokage, who gave her a forehead protector.
We wrote our essay on the application on chakra, which was really hard after we finished our fourth test. Now we're doing this, application of the three basic jutsus taught to us in actual combat. This "actual combat" is a match against genins.
"Minato Namikaze, you're up next!" The instructor shouted.
Minato turned to us with that damned smile and said, "Wish me luck."
{AN: You know the smile.}
Break a leg," I said, and both Fugaku and Shikaku looked at me.
"That's not how you wish someone luck, Hizashi," Shikaku said, and Fugaku agreed with a "Hnn".
"It isn't? I swore I read somewhere that if you wish for bad things to happen to someone, good things will happen instead," I said to them, making them raise a brow at me.
Obviously, questioned where I heard such foolishness. Our conversation was interrupted by a cheerful loud voice.
"It does!?" I turned around to see Tsume with her new forehead protector tied around her head.
"Oh, dog breath, yeah, it's true," when Tsume heard what I said, she turned towards where Minato was.
"I hope you die!" She shouted, and everyone looked like her as if she was mad; as for Minato, he just looked around at her gloomily. "Oh, and don't call me that you creepy eyed bastard."
"Huh? My eyes aren't that creepy…right?" Fugaku and Shikaku turned their heads away from me when I looked at them. Traitorous bastards.
Anyways, when the no-named genin entered the tiny fighting stage, I just ignored the match since there's no way Minato would lose to genin. Surprise surprise, I was right not even two minutes later, and Minato collected his forehead protector.
It took longer for Minato to collect his own forehead protector. Hiruzen was probably giving him a speech about him being the leaf's future.
"Hizashi Hyuga, you're next!"
"Seems like it's my time to shine," I said as I walked off, only to be stopped by a voice.
"I hope you make it out without a scratch on you, Hizashi," Tsume said to which I stared at her quizzically until it hit me, this bitch.
When I walked on the stage, I felt uncomfortable, as if someone was appraising me. But, I ignored it; with the Hokage here, no one would be dumb enough to do anything.
"Are you ready?" Taking me out of my thoughts, I nodded at the instructor and turned to my opponent, who I didn't even notice until now.
"Hizashi, I'm here to show you what a true Hyuga is capable of, you branch family failure," A black-haired white-eyed youth said.
"Who are you?" At first, he seemed flustered by my question, but his arrogance soon replaced it.
"Playing the fool? Don't worry, this will drag your memory," Without waiting for the signal from the instructor, he rushed at me with his palm aiming for my chest.
{AN: I find it more comfortable to write fight scenes in third person.}
The unknown Hyuga genin aimed his attack at Hizashi's chest, who seemed to have been frozen in place.
*Bam*
*Puff*
To the genin's surprise, Hizashi was replaced by a piece of wood. "Hmph, cheap tricks," the genin said as he turned around only to see four Hizashi standing with their arms folded.
The veins around the genins eyes started protruding, "I'm a Hyuga; such pathetic tricks won't work on me."
"I know," Hizashi, who appeared beside the genin in a burst of mist, said.
*TAK* *TAK* *TAK* *TAK*
Hizashi delivered rapid strikes to the genin's arm, who quickly retreated before any more damage could be done. "Urgh," the genin groaned while holding his limp hand. "Hmph. Relying on inferior jutsus, you're not a real Hyuga, and you'll never be!"
"Idiot, so it's because I'm relying on these "inferior jutsus" that I'm capable of defeating you?" Hizashi asked the genin, who was currently unsealing his tenketsus.
*TAK**TAK**TAK**TAK*
"Obviously, if you weren't, I'd show you how superior the Hyuga clan gentle fist is," The genin said proudly, and along with Hizashi, all the spectators shook their heads and thought the same thing 'what a fool.'
"Fine then. Because of you Hyugas small-mindedness, you failed to improve a technique and make it the best. I'll show you a glimpse of what could have been," Hizashi said with all his previous carefreeness disappearing.
Taking the gentle fist style stance, Hizashi activated his byakugan, "Are you ready?" Hizashi asked with his emotionless voice.
The genin looked at him arrogantly, "Ye-."
*Whoosh*
Before he could finish, Hizashi appeared before while aiming at his chest with a palm strike. 'FAST!' The genin thought as he looked at Hizashi.
*Bam!*
*Crack!*
Breaking sounded resounded around the area when Hizashi palm strike hit. Unfortunately for the genin, it didn't stop there.
"Gentle Fist: 64 palms"
*Tak* *Tak* *Tak* *Tak *Tak*
* *Crack* *Crack* *Crack* *Crack*
With each strike, a breaking sound followed; Hiruzen and Danzo watched this in curiosity. "Something's wrong," Hiruzen said as he squinted his eyes and tried to focus.
"Apart from that kid getting his ass beaten," Tsunade who was standing beside him, stated. Hiruzen frowned at his once student words.
"Focus, princess, don't you notice it?" Dano said, and Tsunade frowned in response but tried to sense what they saw.
"The genin's chakra is rising?" Tsunade said unsurely by what she was sensing, but Danzo and Hiruzen nodded, showing that what she picked up was correct.
"But why is his chakra risi-" Tsunade stopped what she was saying as a realization hit her. "HE'S GOING TO KILL HIM!" She shouted as she dashed at the two boys, cracking the ground in turn.
"32 palms." Hizashi's emotionless voice said.
*Tak* *Tak* *Tak*
"64 palms," He said once more, but before he could deliver the attack, a firm grip held his hand.
"That's enough, kid, you pass," Tsunade said while glaring at Hizashi, who just stared back at her without backing down.
"Heh…I guess you're right huh, I better go collect my protector," Hizashi said. With his carefree attitude, he walked over to the Hokage.
*Thud*
"Blaaarrgh!" The genin fell to the ground, vomiting blood. Tsunade quickly turned around; what she saw disturbed her to the very core.
Just by looking, she could tell that many of the boy's bones were broken, and if that wasn't bad enough, his skin was a disgusting purple that looked as if something was about to burst from out of it. His eyes were blood-red, giving her the impression that all the blood vessels within them burst.
"Sensei, the boy, needs extensive medical care; I'll take him back to the village hospital," Tsunade said to Hiruzen, then disappeared in flower blossoms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

AN: OK, what Hizashi did will be explained in more detail in the next chapter, which will be released tomorrow. Hopefully. It's similar to blood transfer but, of course, with chakra instead.

As for what will be in the next chapter, they will be placed in their teams, meet their jonin sensei and go on their first mission outside the village, which I'll probably call the 'War of Heir Arc'.
