[Ursula Evenwood]

.

After I aboard the carriage, I saw another beautiful young lady inside. She had raven-black hair and her eyes looked gentle.

She received me cordially and introduced herself as Mirabelle Purplewing.

My brain stopped working for a few seconds…

'Did she just say, she was a Purplewing?' I started fidgeting around as I realized, I was in front of the heiress of a guardian clan.

But to my surprise, she wasn't haughty at all. I have always imagined the Noble Heirs to be haughty and condescending. But,

She was very gentle and sweet spoken. She invited me and my maid happily and started socializing.

She asked us many questions as we got comfortable with one another. The red haired lady was a bit noisy though.

But having the cute little Casper in the carriage with us, made the journey extremely fun. Lady Mira even took out some female costumes, We dressed little Casper up. Honestly, we all had a nice time.

Casper looked like a princess in those clothes. How cute!

And finally Lady Mira asked me the question I was waiting for.

"So Lady Ursula, do tell us about yourself and your family." She asked me with a beautiful smile.

I smiled as I was expecting the question. And I didn't particularly mind, as the person asking me was from one of the guardian clans. She was a higher noble that my family needed to pay respect to.

"Of course my lady, let me introduce myself properly. My name is Ursula Evenwood. The third daughter of the Evenwood Household. My father is Viscount Evenwood and is the current lord of Evenwood city.

As for me traveling. I am going towards Rorengar. Hayton, Eastigar to be exact. As my eldest sister was married a lord there, and they have asked me to come and visit."

Hearing me tell them all the information, Emma seemed a bit distressed. She pulled the hem of my dress trying to get my attention.

I didn't pay her any heed, but then I noticed the face of Lady Mira and Lady Celine. They were looking at me with a smile. Even little Casper was smiling.

I felt a bit unnerved and was about to ask. When Casper answered,

"Lady Ursula, we are also going to Hayton too.

Tora bridge was the first checkpoint for us to cross. It's the fastest way to the border after all. And it would be wonderful if you accompany us there."

Lady Celine smiled and shouted as well, "Yes, yes, Ursi! You have to come with us!"

I felt a bit awkward and looked at Lady Mira. From the little time we have spent. I have come to understand that, this lady held a lot of respect from the others.

I have my speculations, but I didn't see any indication of her being engaged or married, so I didn't directly jump into a conclusion. But she should be the fiance or the lover of that lord I met earlier.

I really wonder who that is.

Lady Mira seemed to understand my plight. She answered with a smile, "Yes, Lady Ursula, you should travel with us. As both Celine and Casper have spoken. Our lord will invite you with open arms as well. So don't worry at all."

I felt relieved. I felt safe here. These people were so kind and made me smile just by being near them.

I accepted their kind gesture and my maid bowed to them as thanks.

Right then, we heard a muffled 'YES!' From outside the carriage. Which caused the two ladies to giggle. But Casper seemed oblivious about it.

I was confused but I didn't think too much on it.

.

The carriage we were on, was extremely fast. The speed was terrifying to say the least. And from the little knowledge I had. I knew these carriages were enchanted.

So to fulfill my curiosity. I asked Lady Mira, "My Lady, how come the carriages are so fast?"

Before Lady Mira could answer. Lady Celine beat her to it, "ITS BECAUSE OF LUCIAN! HE CAN WRITE RUNES!! AND THAT'S WHY THE CARRIAGE MOVES SO FAST AND THE RIDE ISN'T BUMPY!"

After Lady Celine answered in her usual cheery voice. I and Emma noticed something else…

The carriage wasn't only fast, but the ride was also comfortable. It was as if the carriage was in still motion.

I gasped at the marvel. From this I received one more information about this party.

Either the lord was an extremely talented Wizard or there was another WIzard in the party.

.

As time passed, I noticed a frown on Casper's eyes. It looked extremely cute, but I felt a bit worried about the child.

So I asked him, "Casper, dear, what seems to be the matter? Are you alright?"

Casper felt a bit embarrassed and shyly answered, "Umm, I thought there was a carriage following us earlier. They were right on our trail till Tora bridge. But as we have sped up since then, they are nowhere in sight.

But I can't shake the feeling that. That carriage will keep following us…"

I felt unsettled!

I knew exactly which carriage Casper was talking about. It must be Jarkas's carriage.

'He was still following me…' I thought to myself.

I already knew what he wanted from me.... I don't remember how many hundred times, I have rejected his advances. But the man never lets up….

I never liked him... But my father seems to think it's a good idea. He even told me to respond to the creep of a man. Hence, I am fleeing to my sister. I didn't say this to the others, because I didn't want them to think less of me.

I had a sad expression on my face. And noticing, Lady Celine said with a smile while showing her muscles.

"Don't worry Ursi! We will protect you from that ugly! So rest assured! Okay?"

Her cheerful attitude made me smile. I nodded in answer, as her enthusiasm felt refreshing.

I threw the worries to the back of my head and started playing with Casper again.

Something inside my head kept reassuring me that, everything was going to be alright.

.

I ordered my driver to follow the carriage that the wench got in…

I didn't want to be too forceful back then because she was a pretty little thing. I wouldn't mind her being one of my wives. But the wench kept rejecting me.

If it wasn't for the knight back there… I would have had my way with her. Her father doesn't care about her one bit.

He has already given me the clear to pursue her.

I am sure the money I gave him helped on the matter… That bastard literally sold his daughter to me...

What a pig!

But this wench just had to get up and go with complete strangers.

After all the lengths I have gone for her.... That was unacceptable!

I made a plan to sneak up on them when they camped outside. As I was sure, there would be no towns or villages within traveling distance for the day. So they had to stop somewhere along the road to set up a camp.

And I will make my move then. When they go to rest for the night. I will capture that wench and finish it once and for all.

Tsk! The only reason I am going this far is because of the feathered hairpin she has… I need that bloody thing to become Wizard Graham's apprentice.

The old bastard promised to teach me if I brought that hairpin to him. At first, I didn't know what was so special about the hairpin.

But after bribing one of the old fool's students, I found out many things about that pin. The pin wasn't any simple item... It had a mana restoring enchantment engraved on it.

That made it an extremely rare magical artifact.

It surely was made by a Rune Expert at the very least.

I heard rumors about Ursula's grandmother before. There was a rumor about her being a Wizard . But I didn't believe it back then. But now… things were looking much more believable.

She should have more magical items on her person. And once I have her... those items will all be mine.

Hahahaha!

.

I then contemplated.

'That the old bastard was probably tricking me. There was no way in bloody hell that something so precious was a fee to become an apprentice. Gah! He must have taken me for a fool, hasn't he?

But too bad for him. Because, after I get her, I will take the Hairpin for myself . And when I make her mine, I can get her grandmother's possessions too. Hehehee,

That's the best course of action to take.

Well, it is settled then. I will take her when they rest for the night. It should be easy as long as I avoid the Knight from earlier.

But as I was thinking all that. The carriage in front of me started speeding. It happened right after the checkpoint in Tora.

I opened my eyes wide. As I peered at the speeding carriage, which was getting further and further away.

This made me enraged..,

"How dare these peasants do this to me??!"

I ordered my coach driver with a bellow.

"Go faster! You old baboon! We are going to Hayton."

I know that's where she will be staying anyway. And it will be easier for me to take her there.

Because, I knew the lord her sister married. He was an acquaintance of mine. Who Loved gold as much as her bastard father.

Another pig...

I had a huge grin on my face. As I imagined, how I will take care of that wench after I get my hands on her…

"Soon my dear… Soon!"
