Chapter 8: Bullmar

"Beautiful city with beautiful ladies, just some smuggling problems. Nothing I can't handle."

- Jabbar (LS 1226).

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Year 1212, 26th Day of the 3rd Month – Road to Bullmar~

"Get back! More help is coming." He said in a commanding tone. For some reason she didn't mind it. It made him feel manly. She nodded to him in response with a smile. Then she realized she was covered in blood. 'SO EMBERRASSING…'

Then she heard him mutter something that sounded cryptic.

"Can't believe that Harbinger of troubles were right."

----------------------------------------------------------------

General POV~

Axel Whitefox the prince's retinue and his best friend was standing among gore and corpses. Wherever eyes could go one could only see blood and some unlucky bloke lying dead. He scanned the area and it seemed only the lady he saved and another crippled man were the only survivors.

"Sigh… we arrived too late. Well at least it seems like the guards were somewhat good. They killed about fifteen bandits with what seems ten men." Axel was thinking out loud. Hearing him the lady standing behind felt awkward but didn't want to correct him.

After scanning the area properly, he saw there were still 8 bandits left some might have ran away during the conflict. 'They are just some untrained bunch. I remember Lucian saying these area usually don't get bandits because the rangers protect this place. So where the fuck are those rangers.'

He brandished his glaive and looked at the bandits and leaked his murderous intent. He hated bandits and barbarians and he wasn't going to let the ones in front of him go.

-----------------------------------------------------

Axel's POV~

After I judged the situation I urged my horse to run towards the closes group of 2 men. They looked tired and nervous after all the fighting so it was a very easy picking for me. I controlled my horse to change direction sharply and used the momentum to swing my glaive taking both of their heads with one stroke.

'Sigh… this isn't an imperial war horse.' I sighed as I saw my horse losing balance and falling down but I jumped in the nick of time. Making a beautiful landing, I would like to say so myself.

"Two down six to go." I counted with an unamused face and started walking towards them. With every step I took the bandits moved back a bit. But they didn't run away for some reason which was rather puzzling. Just as I was about to get on my stance and rush at one of the blokes.

*Clip-clop... HEEEEEYAAHHHH*

My ears hurt from that loud shout. And the last person I wanted to see was there, on a black horse riding towards the bandits in a crazed manner. Killing intent was leaking from her like a deluge with no dam.

'No wonder the bandits weren't moving… They have been paralyzed by the intent. But that crazy bitch already mastered her killing intent to effect a certain area….. No wonder Master said she was a genius. TSK'

The new rider was of course Celine. With her crimson hair waving in the air and that murderous crazed look in her eyes. She rode her horse with her sword to the nearest bandit and stabbed right in the face.

"HAHAHAHAHAH. DIE." And she started laughing like a crazed murderer. 'These northern barbarians…'

Then I saw her ride full speed towards a group of three and rammed her horse into one of them while she jumped at the same time slashing at the other one. I and also the bandits came out of our stupor.

"BITCH, I will not let you out do me!" I shouted and ran towards one of the bandits.

This was no longer a battle. More like a one sided slaughter. The loud laughter of the crazy bitch didn't make the atmosphere any better.

Meanwhile, the little merchant boy was scared to the core, he defecated and pissed where he sat. The blue haired woman wasn't doing good either. She seemed to have some training so she was able to withstand it somewhat.

But I could say for sure this whole scenario was too much for any normal person to see. That merchant is probably gonna die soon he is not in a good state. And Lucian might actually get angry.

I shuddered at the last thought.

---------------------------------------------------------

Blue haired Lady's POV~

'They just slaughtered the bandits as if nothing … And from what I can see they seem to be Intermediate rank warriors just like me. But the difference seems too big…' I couldn't help but shudder thinking about what I just witnessed.

They noticed me standing and the handsome young man came near me. I couldn't help but blush a bit, almost forgetting what happened just now.

"The name is Axel, my lady. Are you alright?"

"Y-Ye-es, I am fine, my lord. My name is Mira Alis and I, please sir but I am no noble lady. Just a caravan guard, please don't be so courteous." I stuttered at first but got my bearings and replied him with a blush.

"I will keep that in mind Ms. Alis. And I am no knight so you don't need to add Sir either. You have gone through something very tragic. My condolences and we should g-" Sir Axel was politely trying to say something more when.

*SMACK*

"HAHAHAHAHA! AXEL!!! HOW MANY DID YOU KILL?" I again noticed the other person who fought the bandits. The murderous aura one. But she seemed like a young lady with a good upbringing adorning crimson hair and a healthy skin. But her mouth… She came here and just slapped Sir Axel's back hard.

"YOU BITCH.... Why the hell are you hitting me?" I heard profanities come out of Sir Axel's mouth. Which made me giggle a bit as I found his antics quite cute. 'GAH.. What am I thinking.' I blushed again.

"Aw, come on… I killed five of them don't tell me you killed more." The little lady said something horrifying while pouting like a little girl. I felt a bit jealous looking at how close she was with Sir. Axel.

"I killed …. F-four." He turned away while looking a bit embarrassed.

"HAHAHAHAHA, I WINN!!!" The young lady just kept on laughing and slapping his back.

"WILL YOU STOP DOING THAT?" I shouted after losing it. 'Opps… I am screwed.'

They both looked at me surprised and I was sweating buckets.

The young lady came close to me scrutinizing me and looked serious, a bit too serious. I was wondering what she was going to say, I was a bit scared. 'What if these two were a couple? Was I fantasizing about another maiden's man… No I am a sinner. Oh wait he seems to be a noble so he might be able to take two wives. Kyaa….' I started overthinking and then started delving on my fantasies again.

The girl came really close to me with squinted eyes then asked. "Umm... Who are you?" She tilted her head.

I was taken aback and chuckled a bit. "Sorry I forgot to introduce myself to you, young lady. My name is Mira Alis and I was the captain of the caravan guards."

"Oh. There sure are a lot of dead people here. Sure feels like the battlefields back at home. Oh, and my name is Celine!" Celine introduced herself while puffing up her nonexistent chest to show her proud air, only to be pulled by the ear by Sir Axel.

"Ouch, OUCH! WHAT DO YOU WANT STINKY?" She cried loudly.

"Hey bitch. Do tell me where Lucian and the others are? We only had two horses you know? If you took the last horse then what's pulling our carriage? HUH?" He looked infuriated. To which Celine seemed to understand what she did and turned away and looked down.

"Sigh… Lets get the horses and go back to get Lucian." Axel seemed to be exhausted after this exchange.

*ROAR*

We heard a real loud roar coming from behind us. Axel and Celine took out their weapons again, Axel even pushed me behind him. What a gentleman.

"Hey guys! Did you have fun?" We saw a youth with golden hair with a very kind smile sitting on a huge black bear which was pulling a carriage behind it. My jaws literally dropped seeing that.

Axel and Celine seemed to know the newcomer.

""LUCIAN!""

"Hey hey Lucian, where did this bear come from?!" Celine's eyes were shining and she wanted to jump on it but she was stopped by Axel. Axel had a very solemn appearance and he looked towards the direction of the young man. Celine and I got the hint and did the same.

*Shudder*

The golden haired youth named Lucian wasn't smiling kindly anymore. He had a cold expression that sent chills down my spine as an unknown aura enveloped the area. He was looking at the dead bodies.

He got down from the bear and let it free, even the bear seemed scared to look at him it had it's head down. Then he patted the beast and gave it some fruits from who knows where. "Thank you for your service. You may leave now." He sent the bear away saying that still looking very cold. The beast seemed to sigh in relief running away in seconds.

He then looked at the carriage he came in. At two older men, then at Axel. He said in a commanding tone.

"Mavis, Axel. Gather the dead in one place… there isn't any honorable people among them to be buried. I will just purge them…." He said some things I didn't understand.

"Miss, Can you please take inventory of what is left of the caravan?" He looked at me and asked and I just nodded as if it was natural. I went to do what he told me to do.

After I took inventory of the things and getting the carriages that held goods in one place. The broken carriages with the dead were moved to an opening. Then Lucian moved towards it. I wanted to follow to see what he will do but I was stopped by Axel. He looked at me and shook his head.

"Do not fret young lady. Let the young lord purge the men of their unjust deeds." Said the elderly knight that was with us. I just nodded. Then I heard some strange words and saw a pure golden flame covering the young man's body.

My eyes were peeled open by the sight. The flames seem to create a robe that felt like something people with authority wears. He put his hand up towards the sky and the golden flame gathered above the corpses.

And

And down came the hand.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

General POV Bullmar~

A few Carriages passed through the gates of Bullmar the merchant city. The city is situated in the eastern part of Rorengar and it was established beside the Twinseed River. A Great river originated from two of the four great peaks. The Sky peak and the Elder peak mountains of the Cross Mountain Range. The river itself goes through 4 countries including Rorengar so it's a great trade route. Thus the establishment of the merchants guild here.

Inside the carriage there was Lucian, Celine and the new guest Mira. Axel was still acting as the coach while Mavis and Sir Julian went to handle 2 more carriages.

Lucian was quiet the whole journey and just sat there with his eyes closed. Celine was fidgeting a bit clearly nervous around the angry Lucian. She never saw him angry before. Not to mention that cold glare. She only ever felt scared of her mother before. Lucian might just be the second person that put her in a state of fear.

On the other hand, Mira had a lot of questions. But was too nervous to ask any. Axel from the coach seat noticed the atmosphere so he spoke breaking the unbearable silence.

"Lucian… Hates taking lives… He only takes them if it's necessary. But he never let's go of people who are dishonest or those who do unspeakable things. Like those bandits and some of the merchants, the guards as well."

"He told me once that he could feel those that someone's aura when they die. If they were not good people when they lived the aura around the corpses looked murky, dark." He added.

"Is he a seer?" Mira asked in a whisper, clearly agitated.

Axel just shook his head hearing her question. "It has something to do with his bloodline. Even I don't understand much about it, to be honest with you. He is a very kind guy so you can ask him later." Axel answered her with a smile.

"I really hope that Lucian will not start hating me." Celine said almost sobbing. That aura really hit her hard it seemed.

'Lucian is something like a brother to her, like a family member she found so far out of home. That's why she always struck close to us because she found comfort when she was with us…It will be a huge blow if she thinks that Lucian might hate her.' Axel thought while looking at the usually crazy girl who looked like a pitiful fragile doll at the moment.

*sob sob*

Celine was really about to cry only to feel something warm patting her head. She looked up.

"You have been with us for so long, and you are still a cry baby aren't you Celine." Lucian was kneeling on one leg in front of Celine while patting her. He also had his usual kind smile and was looking at her dotingly. The whole atmosphere seemed to have changed colors.

'Lucian always finds her annoying. I know that because Lucian shares most of the things with me. But I also see him smile in a different way when he talks about Celine's mischievousness. It always felt like a brother showing off his troublesome little sister.... I wonder if that's how she talks about me to her friends …' Axel started thinking and looked at the distant sky, direction of the northern region.

'Sister… Be safe...'

~Meanwhile in a Battlefield in the North West of Rorengar~

A woman with Black Hair tied behind her in a ponytail and Blood crimson eyes, just slashed the head of a Barbarian. The Man was bigger than normal and he had some weird feathered necklace and a Bone crown on his head. Indicating he was a chief of a tribe. The woman cleaned her glaive on the body of the fallen foe and stepped on the man's head crushing it. Suddenly she felt something and looked towards the sky in the south east. She smiled which almost made the bloody battlefield lose color.

'Brat, I hope you are training well. If I find you Lazing around I will beat you till you forget our Father's name.'

Well They finally made it to Bullmar. And their party is increasing
