I knocked on Jamie's door. I felt bad, I should have called ahead and let her know I was coming. If she wasn't home, I didn't know where else I would go.
Amelia, Jamie's girlfriend, opened the door and a surprised expression crossed her face. "Hi, Rebecca. Is everything okay?"
"Would it be okay if I came in?" I asked, sniffing.
Amelia pulled the door open wider, allowing me to come in. "Need a place to crash?" she asked knowingly.
"Ugh, I never thought I would be this kind of girl," I whined, flopping myself down on the couch.
Jamie came around the corner from the kitchen, carrying a spatula.
"I wasn't expecting you tonight," she announced, placing one hand on the back of the couch. "What kind of girl?"
"Is it okay if I stay? Just for tonight, I swear, I'll be out of your hair tomorrow," I promised. I looked between the two of them.
"Of course," Amelia chuckled. "We'll be glad for the company. Have you eaten? We were going to have an early dinner."
