Chapter 71 : Aces and Clubs

I felt a little guilty leaving Rebecca behind this morning. However, I didn't want to have to explain how the things that had been going on at the club could directly affect her safety. She had enough to worry about already.
Ryan informed me that there had been more dealings with the Russians at the club last night. Apparently, they were bold enough to show their faces, upset over the loss of Benji. The man was a fool to deal with them in the first place, and the Petrovs should just be thankful for the free labor they got out of him.
I dialed Nico as I drove.
"Yep?" Nico answered.
I could hear shuffling in the background. There was a smacking sound, and then a yelp, followed by a giggle. Nico had company, apparently.
"Sounds like you're entertaining company," I said flatly.
"I guess I'd have to get her opinion on whether or not it was entertaining," he answered, and I could hear the same giggle in the background again.
