Dr. Zechariah Louis worked at a small hospital for free so as to tend to poor people who can't afford his services at the RFH Multi-specialty hospital. Among his regular visitors were Teddy. Teddy was the child of the streets, ever since he ran away from the orphanage he was all alone in life. He was inflicted with a lot of torture at the orphanage. He never opened his eyes and saw anything, he stumbled on rocks, hurdles and objects on the way; once he nearly fell into an open sewage, but then thanks to a man who saw Ted and drew him away. Dr. Zechariah had pity on Ted; at times, the doctor would take Ted to a nearby restaurant and treat him with good food. After dining, they would sit there and listen to the random musicians who performed for the restaurant. Doctor had provided Ted a place to stay near the hospital, but then Ted wasn't comfortable with the weird noises he heard from the house owner's bedroom. He would hear such kind of noises only at night and it always disturbed his sleep.

A wealthy man died writing a will to donate all his organs to homeless sick people, when the hospital board searched for any such people, Dr. Zechariah put in Ted's name for the eyes. When recipients were called, Ted was considered too, he underwent the operation. After all necessary treatments and check-ups were made, Ted finally could see everything around him. The vision was a little blurred at first, but then every objects came into clarity. The first person he saw Dr. Zechariah and he was the happiest to see Doctor. When Ted was allowed to leave the hospital, Dr. Zechariah took him home. Ted was amazed by Doctor's splendid home, he didn't what each things were at first but then he closed his eyes felt them to understand from his memory. All the while Dr. Zechariah watched Ted discovering each object and understanding what it was, what doctor saw made him feel happy. When Ted was done doing what he was doing, he asked doctor if there was no one else in the house. Doctor replied 'NO' as two years ago he lost his wife in an accident, the saddest about that was that his wife was carrying their baby who also died with the mother. Ted felt sorry for Doctor, he understood that he was not the only lonely person in life. Later that day, Doctor dropped Ted back at the house where Ted stayed.

One Month Later....

Dr. Zechariah drove into his porch, locking the car, he turning the key in his door when he saw Ted sitting outside. Surprised, he called Ted inside and gave him a cup of coffee. When the doctor finally settled down after having set the house in order, he inquired Ted's reason of visit. Ted looked down, something bothered him as he sat on the chair, and with the same mood he spoke to Doctor,

"Doctor, I want to tell you something important, please listen to me very carefully."

"Yes, you may tell me, I'm listening everything you want to tell me."

"Doctor, I don't want to see anymore; I feel it was better without the eyes, I saw nothing and little did bother me of what happened around me." Doctor began to interrupt but then he refrained himself and kept all questions for the end, Ted continued,

"When I began to see, I began to see everything, not just the beautiful wonders of the world but also the ugly truths that existed around me. When I was blind, people told me I should really see this world someday because it was so beautiful, but then, I've seen more bad than good in the past month. I wished every night that the world would get better the next day but then it got worse. The other day, as I was travelling in a bus, I saw an outlaw beating up an old man on the streets, another day, a group of people killing a young man on the roads and he lay there, wounded and bleeding and not a single person that stood around him helped him. When I rushed to him, a hand held me back and told me not to go if I didn't want to die. I stood there, clueless and confused on why the world isn't as beautiful as I heard it was, I sought for the beauty but what I found was just the ominous. Doctor, I plead you to make me blind again, I've enough visuals to haunt my dreams, I want to see no more of this horrible world."

Doctor was speechless, he had nothing to say but yet tried his best to convince him, but then none of that clicked his brains. After the talk, he walked out of the house, he said he'll meet the doctor at the hospital next day. Dr. Zechariah watched as Ted walked away into the distance, when he was finally out of sight doctor walked back into his house, right then it started raining.
