The Chunnin Exams come to a close!

The crowed watched in silent shock as one of the fighters cried out in pain again.

Kurotsuchi opened her eyes and froze. One moment she was in yugitos grasp and was about to get her arm cut off when suddenly she appeared halfway across the field. She looked behind her and saw something that made her eyes widen.

Yugito stood over narutos kneeling form, half of an arm in her clawed hand. She stared down at naruto in shock. The boy was kneeling before her, clutching his bleeding nub.

"W-what?" Yugito spoke out in shock, dropping the arm and taking a few steps back, her bijuu cloak slowly vanished.

Naruto slowly opened his teary eyes and looked down at his left arm. If was missing from the elbow down. He could see muscle and bone, along with the steady flow of blood that was falling the the earth.

"Fuck.." naruro sniffled back a few tears.

-hyuga household-

Hitome was holding a crying hinabi in her arms. She stared at the tv with a few tears in her eyes. It wasn't everyday that you get to see one of your precious people get their arm cut off.

Hinata was horrified as she continued to stare at the tv, hashi was rubbing her back in an attempt to comfort her. All they could do was continue to watch and pray that naruto would be okay.

-kage box-

"It would seem your gennins done for, jiraya." Onoki stated with a smug grin. His grin fell when jiraya looked at hm with a blank face.

"You think this is gonna stop naruto? This is nothing but a small bump in the road for him." Jiraya told the elder kage.

"It also seems as if youre in debt to a leaf nin onoki." Ay chuckled." If it wasn't for little naruto there, your granddaughter would be the one without an arm." Onoki grumbled to himself.

-arena floor-

Naruto quickly jumped up and kicked yugito away from him, ignoring both the pain and the flying blood. He landed and jumped his way back to Kurotsuchis side.

The iwa girl just continued to stare at naruto with wide eyes. Naruto smacked her in the face to break her from her shocked state.

"W-why would you-"

"Kimiwari with you?" Naruto cut her off as he held his bleeding stump." She wanted to fight me, you shouldn't have to lose your arm just because she went a little crazy." Naruto took a deep breath before continuing." Now I need you to put a bit of lava right there." He pointed at the ground in front of them.

Kurotsuchi looked confused." Why-"

"Just do it before I either pass out or die from blood loss please!" Naruto ordered. Kurotsuchi quickly did as asked and blew out a glob of lava onto the arena floor." Thank you."

Naruto walked over to the lava and knelt next to it. He pulled out a kunai and put its handle in his mouth before closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. He quickly laid his stump of a left arm on the surface of the lava and pain racked through his body. He bit down on the kunai and let out a muffled cry as the lava burnt his stump closed.

Kurotsuchi gaged and covered her nose when the smell of burning flesh hit her. She stared at the leaf gennin with an alarmed look in her eyes.

This leaf gennin had just taken a hit for her and lost his arm for it. Ever since she was young she hated the leaf and its ninja. Her father had told her that a leaf ninja had killed her mother and ever since then she wanted to crush the leaf. To her they all deserved to die for the pain they caused her home. But she wasn't so sure about that statement now.

This kid had kimiwaried with her so she didn't have to go through the pain of losing an arm, and then melting the open wound shut with lava. Were all konoha ninja like this? So selfless? If so then she had a lot to think about.

Naruto stood up and let the kunai fall from his mouth. He was panting and sweating. He looked at his now closed stump of an arm and grimaced. The wound was charred black, along with a bit of the skin above the cut line.

' man, hows this gonna effect my shinobi career? ' he questioned himself.

"You did an idiotic and brave thing brat." Came kuramas voice." I cant heal your arm or grow one back right yet as youre low on chakra, but I should be able to do something for you in about a weeks time. For now you have to deal with using only one arm." Naruto just nodded softly as he looked ahead and saw yugito standing there panting.

Yugito was looking at naruto in shock. The boy not only lost his arm but burnt the wound closed and could still stand!

"H-how?" Yugito spoke up, getting naruto to look at her." H-how are you still standing!?!" Her anger began to rise." Why wont you just stay down!" Matatabis chakra exploded out of the girl, absorbing her into a storm of dark flaming blue chakra that grew to the size of a two story building. The chakra formed itself into a large flaming blue cat that had only one tail, its mismatched blue and yellow eyes stared down at the boy.

Naruto also noticed a clear bluish barrier rise from the arena wall, keeping the public safe from the partially released bijuu. Naruto looked up at jiraya and saw the man give him a small nod, a grimace on his face.

"Hello matatabi.." naruto greeted with a small nod, the giant cat locked eyes with him and purred.

"My kitten is angry enough to send me partially out it seems. Now ill have to crush you." She stated as she lifted her paw up.

Kurotsuchi was standing in the background with wide eyes. This was a freakin bijuu and that idiot blond wasn't even scared!?! She raised her hand and quickly forfeited. Yes she was grateful to the blond but not grateful enough to die here for him!

"Kurotsuchi of iwa has forfeited, the match is now between naruto of the leaf and yugi..er.. yugito and matatabi?" Darui mumbled out curiously.

Naruto and matatabi ignored darui as he quickly escorted the iwa nin off the field. Naruto looked up at matatabi and jumped to his left, dodging the giant cat paw that slammed into the ground of his previous position.

"Why do you not forfeit kid?" The bijuu asked the boy with a tilted head.

'Can we still do that kurama?' Naruto asked as he continued to dodge the giant paws of the bijuu who jept trying to crush him.

"Hmm" kurama hummed." We can only do that for about ten seconds before the seal stops me." He answered.

'It seems its our only shot then.' Naruto replied as he jumped away from the bijuu and looked up at the giant cat.

"You ask why I don't quit?" Naruto called out. Matatabi purred out with a nod." Ill tell you why.."

"In konoha my hokage preaches about the will of fire.." naruto began as he built his chakra up." The will of fire isnt something one can touch, its an idea! All our shinobi carry that same idea, that as long as we fight to protect our home, our people, or even to protect an object that means something to you! The will of fire will be there, inside of you! It makes us strong enough to protect our loved ones." Naruto put his only remaining arm out to his side as he looked up at the bijuu with a fiery determination burning in his ringed eyes.

"From the youngest of gennin to the oldest of hokages!" Narro shouted out." We all hold that will of fire within our souls!"

"Were ready naruto!" Kurama shouted out as a black chakra rod grew out of the floor of his cage. The giant fox slammed his hand down of it, impaling his hand on the chakra rod. He felt his chakra drain into the rod and his eyes go from their blood red to a silverish purple ringed design. He felt both his and narutos chakra mixing and working together, he gave off a feral grin." Lets take that pussy cat out!"

Naruto looked up at the bijuu and gave her a farel grin. Everyone felt narutos chakra shoot through the roof." Now matatabi, let me show you my will of fire!" Naruto exploded into golden chakra.

The boys shirt was blown open, showing that his skin was golden with black lines and symbols running up his chest and down his remaining arm and legs. His shirt seemed to grow into a small golden cloak and his spiky hair grew a bit longer, making it look like he had horns.

Matatabi took a step back in both shock and surprise. Naruto held his remaing hand out and a long ten foot chakra rod grew out of his hand.

Matatabi cried out in pain as the boy threw the rod like a spear and said rod went through her front right paw and stuck deep into the ground, paralyzing the bijuu in place.

Narutos body flickered before he vanished, the only thing people could see was a golden blur shoot across the field, up matatabis leg and into the air.

"Lets go!" Naruto shouted out and everyone watched as the boys golden aurora exploded outwards, forming the transparent figure of a giant nine-tailed fox that had golden fur and black markings along his body, shoulders and tails. Its eyes were the same as narutos, the silverish glow of the rinnegan.

Both naruto and the fox put their right hands out and everyone watched a giant chakra rod form out of the transparent foxes hand. The fox gripped onto the rod and aimed at the stunned matatabi before chucking it at the giant cat before it faded away, along with that golden chakra of narutos. Said boy began falling out of the sky.

The chakra rod flew through the air and struck matatabi right through the back. It went through the fire-cats back and pinned her to the ground. The impact of the rod threw up a giant cloud of dust which blocked everyones view of the match.

Naruto righted himself as he fell into the dust cloud and landed on matatabis head. He dropped down to the top of her nose and looked the cat in the eyes.

"I don't wanna fight you matatabi... I want us to get along.." naruto was panting." I want us to stop the man who controlled kurama all those years ago and make sure that he cant do that to any of you ever again." He told her honestly.

Matatabi looked at naruto and couldve sworn she saw the transparent figure of her father standing behind the boy holding his staff, a bright smile on the sages face before he faded from existence. She closed her eyes in order to hide the tears that formed there before nodding her head.

"You have my full support naruto, yugito will help as well. I know it." Matatabi told him softly before she began to disappear back into her container.

Both yugito and naruto began falling to the ground. The blond quickly grabbed the girl and let his body take the fall for both of them.

The cloud of dust and smoke cleared and everyone saw naruto roll and unconcious yugito off of him. The boy stood up and looked at the giant chakra rod that was sticking out of the ground. He snapped his fingers and the rod faded out of existence.

The barrier went down and darui jumped into the arena. He quickly checked on yugito to make sure she was alright. He let out a small sigh if relief. Yugito was just suffering from chakra exhaustion, shed be okay.

He stood up and walked up to naruto who was looking at him with ragged breaths. The boy looked like he just came back from war. His shirt was open and it had rips all over it, his left sleeve was completely gone, giving everyone a good view of his charred stump of a left arm. He had multiple bleeding cuts and bruises all over his body and face. His mask was torn a bit, showing the right side of his cheek and his whisker marks to the world.

Darui grabbed the boys hand and raised it into the air." The winner of the chunnin exams, is naruto uzumaki!" Darui shouted out.

The crowed was silent for a few moment before they exploded into both cheers and applause. Naruto heard people shouting his name over and over and an odd sense of happiness washed over the boy, he gave a tired grin before he promptly passed out in daruis arms.

The medics quickly came onto the field in order to retrieve the two fighters and get them too the hospital.

Authors note: youre all probably curious about how naruto managed to activate his chakra cloak, but be patient my friends! Ill be explaining that in the next chapter so stay tuned because this story is just beginning!!
