Chapter 16 Being Hunted

|The next morning we wake up and I notice that both of us are a little too close to each other.|

"Did I roll around my sleep"

| I try to figure out how did I go from being 2 meters away from Haoxuan to being right next to him.|

| I look at his peaceful face admiring the feeling of nobleness behind it|

[He looks so calm and a bit cute. Aiyo what am I saying since when was this but head cute. I'm surprised he hasn't woken up yet, he usually wakes up before me is it because of yesterday? Now that I think about it how would he look like if he was in human form. Can he already transform into one.]

| Zoned out while looking at him he wakes up without me realising|

"Huh what? What do you mean?"

|Realization hit me. Startled I stutter while speaking.|

"I-I wasn't looking at you I was just um looking at that bug yes that red bug in front of you."

| He looks around|

What bug?

"It flew away when you were moving around."

|He rolls his eyes and exclaims with sarcasm|

'Sure'

"Hey I have a question. Can you transform into a human?"

|I sigh in relief after hearing that.|

How do you know about that I thought you said you didn't know much.

"Oh I was just thinking about the possibility for beasts like us to transform into humans to like you know walk around there territory without them knowing what we really are.|

|We stop startled by the sudden movement coming from the bushes around us. I talk to Xuan with a shushed voice.|

"What was that it was quiet not too long ago why is there suddenly movements."

| A rare look of panic surfaces on his face making me slightly nervous.|

Shut up don't do anything rash, by the looks of it I don't think we can escape this place easily. I hope my hunch is wrong.

"What hunch tell me what it is, I can't be left in the dark all the time you should explain to me what is happening right now !"

We might be surrounded by lightning dire wolves. They usually travel in packs making them one of the deadliest predators in this region. The reason why I know this is because they have a distinct smell I'm used to them since they always tried to attack our clan before.

"In packs !? Why are they attacking us we're so damn small how will we even fill their stomachs these creatures are ridiculous!"

That will be the case if we don't get out of this place now !

GROWL

| Three wolves suddenly jump out of the bushes and surrounds us. Haoxuan swiftly slashes on of them in the eyes with the skill he used on me yesterday while I do the same with another wolf. We immediately turn around and run as fast as we can. Panic sets in as I realize how far ahead he is a little dumbfounded by his remarkable speed. I look behind me seeing the wolves only a few meters away from me, snarling intensely and I slowly start to get even more anxious as they're getting closer and closer|

"Leave me alone you big dogs for once can I not be chased by something in this world."

[Damn it they're too close I need to catch up to Xuan fast.]

|I look at the slowly dissipating figure of Haoxuan triggered at how fast he is.|

"YAH! WAIT FOR ME DUMBASS!"

HURRY THE HELL UP !DO YOU WANT FOR BOTH OF US TO DIE!?

[System give me that agility potion now!]

|A liquid goes down my throat and my speed increases.The distance between us enlarges and I slowly catch up to Xuan.We find a place to hide from those scary looking dogs.We hear them passing by us growling barking and ferociously.|

|After 30 minutes we couldn't hear them anymore so we decide to slowly get out of our hiding place.I sigh in relief|

"Phew! We managed to get out of that situation alive."

...Wait this doesn't feel right

|My relief quickly diminishes replaced by anxiousness I furrow my brows|

"Is there something wrong?"

Don't you think it's a little too quiet right now.

"Now that you say it really is weirdly quiet."

|Suddenly a wolf comes out of nowhere and runs straight at Haoxuan's direction|

"Watch out !"

| Haoxuan was too stunned and didn't' react quickly. Panicked, I run and push him to the side before it could slash him with his sharp razor claws but the result of that is me getting hurt instead, spitting a mouthful of blood from the attack.|

<-40 HP>

Lu Qing!

|I muster all my strength and get up to run away|

"I'm fine let's go!"

|We run to the direction of where we're staying with all our strength and might not letting that thing catch up to us.|

|We finally arrive and it was afternoon at this time. I slowly started to feel weak while trying to walk to the hole. Xuan runs to me|

Lu Qing are you alright,we should check your injuries let me help you.

|But before I could take another step my adrenaline faded completely and the lack of energy and immense amount of pain assaulted me.My vision went blurry and I lost consciousness. But before I did, I could hear Haoxuan scream my name.|
