Fox Fire (BL)

Hyeon Falken travels abroad for work to escape his toxic home. Instead, he strolls right into the wolf’s den—literally. The aurora is the afterlife for animal spirits. The good souls are sent to the northern lights, but Hyeon finds himself its counterpart with the malicious souls in the south. Those terrifying animal deities that were worshipped by people for over a millennium? Yeah, those are real. And the person Hyeon works for? He’s a rough-headed canine that’s supposed to initiate the end of the world—Ragnarok. Rather than gaining experience at a normal job, it becomes Hyeon's burden to serve his soul to this untamed beast on a silver platter. Will he be eaten by the wolf, or will the wolf be ravaged by his new assistant? Warning: Some chapters contain strong language, sexual themes, and fighting violence. Negligence

"Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica," the fraud Dwight said seriously on the TV. Normally, watching his favorite comedy show, The Office, would have him rolling on the floor laughing. Not today, though.

Hyeon was sprawled out on the couch in his small living room. It was currently day three of his four-day bed rest ordered by Coty. According to Festr Castle's doctor, he usually wouldn't bat an eye if another servant experienced the same traumatic events; because Hyeon was still alive and half-human, he needed to be more vigilant about his mental and physical health.

Although appreciative of how their concern for him, he was absolutely bored while recovering. Hopefully, after his resting period ends, someone can give him answers as to what happened prior. After going insane, no one has properly talked about it.

*But I'm all healed up now.*

The incident involving the centipede demon must've been a catalyst. Supposedly, dýrs can heal quickly. This was apparent by the bite holes in his leg closing up within a few days. There wasn't a scratch or bruise on his face.

His stomach desperately rumbled for nourishment after skipping breakfast. Last night, he ate the last food stock in the fridge.

*I suppose I should go to the main kitchen's pantry and grab a weeks' worth to get by.*

Sliding his feet to the floor, his toes bumped into one of Nammi's catnip-stuffed mice. Hyeon's heart panged upon seeing the toy.

After finding out Sani left her behind in the southern lights' forest, he was beyond pissed, to say the least. Sani said she was capable of finding her way back and would return eventually. It may be true since Hyeon witnessed her turn into a giant kitty demon thing, but she was still his responsibility. His soul missed its fylgja. His familiar.

*I need a distraction. Leaving my room should be fine, wouldn't it?*

Dressing into Supreme joggers, a navy-blue wind jacket, and white slip-on shoes, Hyeon flipped the hood over his head to be as inconspicuous as possible. When Shika visited him yesterday to wish him well, he was told that Imoogi and other servants were not happy about Hyeon's 'special treatment.'

After shutting the door and locking it, Hyeon went on his way to gather meals and snacks from the castle's kitchen.

Distracted by his cat's absence, he failed to notice that the apartment door didn't bolt all the way when closing it.

The knob's latch slid out from the hole, which left it slightly ajar.
