Stopped by the Secretary

"Is this good enough?" He Lixue asked, as she casually leaned back in the chair and looked at the programs. Everyone of them had been cracked cleanly and effortlessly; it seemed as if they were simply no challenge to her at all.

"Let's go to the Human Resources Department and get you signed right away." Manager Mo was acting as if he was afraid that she would run away from the job, and he hurried to take her to the Human Resources Department to sign her contract. Only then would he feel calm.

Such a talented person, it was shocking that she was not a renowned hacker! He was not going to let her regret joining them.

As he was dragging her towards the HR department, he was suddenly reminded that He Lixue knew Lu Nanfeng. This made him heave a big breath of relief. It seemed that she would be able to stay in the Fenghuang Group for a long time.

After heading to the HR department, many were glancing at He Lixue with doubts in their eyes. Would they really hire a person like her who was not even capable of finding a business suit to wear at work?

But seeing how Manager Mo was treating her immensely politely, they dared not say anything, but they could not remove the doubts in their hearts. Still, the IT Security department was quite peculiar, and their boss, Manager Mo, was quite eccentric. Maybe it did not matter what she wore when she worked in that confusing department.

After finishing the paperwork, Manager Mo dared not hold her back any longer. He gave her a few pointers and told her to come to work the following Monday, after which he let her go to the elevator.

He had still remembered the words that Lu Nanfeng had said the day before; he wanted He Lixue to come to visit him in his office, so he dared not hold her back.

He Lixue snickered when she saw the expression on Manager Mo's face that clearly said something along the lines of being a very responsible office worker. Clearly, he wanted her to praise him in front of Lu Nanfeng.

Somehow, He Lixue could not help but think that Manager Mo reminded her a bit of a labrador, a big dog that would wag its tail at anyone who praised it.

Shaking her head with a slight smile on her face, He Lixue went to the elevator. Here she quickly asked to be taken to the CEO's office, and while the elevator girl was somewhat stunned, she quickly led her to the office. It was not her job to decide who could go where in the company, and if she caused problems, she'd be thrown out by security.

When He Lixue reached the top floor, she looked around curiously. Half the floor was designated to the CEO's personal secretaries, while the other half was his own office, which included a lounge room with a bed, a tv, and a bathroom.

The secretaries all looked at her curiously, but they soon frowned.

It was always interesting to see who came to the office, and the CEO's personal secretaries were also sometimes quite arrogant. They were the cream of the crop in the company. To become one of his personal secretaries, they were truly good at their jobs.

So when they saw the casually dressed He Lixue, they could not help but frown and look down upon her.

Seeing that none of them greeted her, He Lixue did not fuss about it and went to the desk of the secretary that was seated right next to Lu Nanfeng's office. She was likely the head secretary.

"Hey, I am looking for Lu Nanfeng. Is he in now, or at a meeting?" He Lixue was not overly polite, but she was not rude either, and her face held a slight smile.

"Do you have an appointment?" The secretary asked, her voice dripping with disdain as she shot a glance at He Lixue's face.

He Lixue was immensely attractive. Was she here to seduce their boss?

"An appointment? I guess I have one, but it wasn't scheduled when," He Lixue scratched her head, wondering if she should call Lu Nanfeng and ask what to do.

"You have an appointment, but it was not scheduled? Who do you think you are tricking?" the Head Secretary got angry. "I have seen many women like you before, but this is the first time I have seen anyone appear here looking as casual as you do. Do you honestly think that we will let you in to meet CEO Lu just because you show up here?"

"You will regret it if you kick me out," He Lixue said casually as she shrugged her shoulders. "It was Lu Nanfeng himself who told me to come here when I finished signing the contract in the Human Resource department."

"You are signed to this company?" The secretary frowned as she looked at this simple yet innocent-looking girl.

She was immensely attractive, but she did not seem very skilled at anything. How could she possibly be hired, and even worse, she had signed her contract wearing nothing else than those clothes! This was a disgrace to the Fenghuang Group!

"Are you going to tell me whether or not Lu Nanfeng is in the office or not?" He Lixue was losing her patience with the secretary, but the feeling was mutual.

"No?" He Lixue looked at the tightly pursed lips of the secretary and completely ignored her before walking to the door, knocking on the door, and twisting the handle, intent on opening it.
