5 Paparazzi

"What exactly is going on here?" he asked confusedly, and He Lixue smiled slightly.

"My aunt, uncle, and cousin have taken all my assets away from me. Even my previous fiance seems to have been taken away from me."

Lu Nanfeng looked at He Lixue. He could not see any emotional discomfort as if she was talking about the weather. He could not help but admire her for her calmness.

Did it really not matter to her that her fiance and wealth had been taken by someone else?

"What do you plan on doing?" he asked with a frown. He felt that he could not let her be alone when she was like this.

He Lixue just shrugged her shoulders. "I am going to make them regret what they have done, of course," she said casually as if it was effortless.

"Do you need help?" Lu Nanfeng asked before realizing he had asked the question. He was shocked by his sudden care for this small girl, but he did not seem to mind. He felt that she was pitiful and needed assistance.

Usually, he would never be so caring, but something about this small girl made him feel as if he owed her something.

"I might need your help later," He Lixue said with a nod of her head. She did not refuse his help, as she knew that she could benefit greatly.

"I will give you three chances to ask for help," Lu Nanfeng knew that he could not give her permission to trouble him all the time, three chances were still enough to end the fate between them.

He Lixue nodded her head. She had never expected that he would be so generous to her, and she could not help but smile.

"Thank you," she grinned and quickly whipped out her smartphone from the pocket where she had placed it earlier. Then she looked at Lu Nanfeng with sparkling eyes. "Please give me your number," she said, and Lu Nanfeng suddenly sensed that he had been tricked.

He had never before given his private number to any woman, apart from those from his family, but now this small girl had it. She wouldn't plan on taking advantage of him, would she?

Then he was reminded that she did not even want his body when he offered it, and he was suddenly once more depressed. His charms were not what they used to be, and even a small girl was dismissing him.

Hence he gave her his number without thinking more about it anymore. The more he thought about it; the more his ego would be hurt.

"Well, since I promised to help you three times, you better make sure not to let yourself suffer any losses," Lu Nanfeng warned her, and then he smiled slightly. "I need to go now. I will see you when you have a request for me."

He Lixue nodded her head and walked to the door of her ward to say her farewell to him. She could actually not wait for him to leave so she could start doing her magic.

Even Lu Nanfeng could feel her impatience, but as to what she was so eager to do, he had no idea, and he was not going to ask her. He just left her alone. He felt that he should not be too invested in her matters.

Although she was pitiful, he felt that he was getting more and more alert. Such feelings had never been in him before, so why would he act differently around this small girl? He was sure that he was not in love with her. He did not have a rapid beating heart or any urges to get intimate with her, but she was too adorable and made him want to protect her.

It was dangerous!

When the guest had left, He Lixue went to train according to her rehabilitation schedule, before she returned to her room. It seemed that she would be able to be discharged after a month.

He Lixue took the laptop, sat on her bed and her slender fingers danced over the keys as various prompts and warnings appeared on her screen.

Easily bypassing various firewalls and cracking codes one after another, He Lixue managed to log into her uncle's computer.

As to how she could single out his computer was because he and his family were living within the He mansion now, the mansion that once belonged to her and her parents. She had his address and could easily locate his computer.

Here she found numerous pieces of evidence of his embezzlement. Unfortunately, the court had deemed him her guardian, so although it was taken against her will, it was not illegal. She had been unable to handle her wealth, so he had been in full control of it.

Smirking, He Lixue copied all the proof of him taking money from her account to start another business, alongside proof of him changing the deeds and shares she owned from her own name to his. Then she created an email address that was impossible to trace, after which she wrote a fascinating article about how the evil uncle, aunt, cousin, and ex-fiance had stolen all the wealth of a poor young woman who was in a coma for three years.

The article was beautifully written, and with the proof, she quickly sent it to a paparazzi that focused on the upper class in society.

Although he was a paparazzi, he was both revered and feared by the upper class, so if he decided to show the evidence and the article, then everyone would know about it.

The only worry was that he might not do it. He Weiling had gotten quite powerful, so even if he had stolen everything he had, then he could still cause problems.

Fortunately for He Lixue, the paparazzi was eager to share the news. He knew that many in the circle were indebted to He Lixue's parents. Hence they would not sit by idly if this proved to be true. This would cause tremendous trouble for He Weiling, that he would have no time to deal with him.
