As soon as he opens his menu, a new screen appears with a list of skill names. Some are blacked out, and some have only question marks and seem to be locked for now. At the top of the screen it shows that he has two points he can spend, and next to the skills there is a cost of one point.

Looking through the list he sees many that seem to be very basic skills, which he is reluctant to spend his points on. Aggressive Slash, Taunt, Piercing Thrust. Continuing to scroll through he finds a few that catch his eye and selects the first.

Summon Metal- Can summon temporary low-level constructs of metal. Summon Metal takes an up-front Mana cost. If the construct takes too much damage it will dissipate. One hour duration.

Selecting this one, he would be able to repair his body and leave immediately. Although the metal he can summon is described as low-level, surely it would be a good placeholder until he can get his hands on a metal vein right?

Deciding on that, he selects it. Spending one of his points for the skill, he is now left with only one. Luckily he already has the perfect ability in mind.

Core Upgrade- The core is the heart of a robot. Choosing this ability will upgrade the core allowing you to increase the maximum mana you can hold, and how quickly you can absorb the mana in the air.

This skill is a good purchase no matter what. Increasing mana? I'll just spend a skill point! With this he will be able to use his new abilities even more, maybe even conjuring up a robot army out of thin air!

Happy with this thought, he purchases the upgrade. Suddenly the mana around him is pulled toward his chest at an alarming rate. Like there's a black hole greedily absorbing all the mana within reach. Immediately he feels that he is breathing a breath of fresh air after being stuck underground for years. Like he was breathing in a smoke filled room for his entire life when suddenly someone opened a window allowing the higher quality air to envelope him. He feels refreshed and aware.

Putting the skill menu away, he starts to calm down. He holds his hand out in front of him. He feels a small amount of mana leave his body, and a heavy sword suddenly appears in his hand.

"Eh? Isn't this wrong?!"

The sword was properly summoned just how he imagined in his mind, but the quality...

It's like someone went to a junkyard and grabbed random pieces of metal that vaguely resembled a sword and bolted them together. The edge is jagged and rusty. There are even crack on the blade! It's likely to break after just a few swings, and if the opponent has on metal armor, it wouldn't be a surprising outcome to see it break after just one swing!

But something is better than nothing after all. The ability can be upgraded by further spending of skill points. The mana cost is low too. So it will have to do for now. If it breaks he'll just summon another, and another, and another, until the enemy is drowned by his cheap broken swords!

He summons a left leg and arm, finally standing on his own two feet. Technically he can leave now, with his body fixed he no longer needs to rely on Belthor and can go start his own adventures. Although eager to go into the West Woodlands to find metal veins, he decides to wait until nightfall to leave. This way he can thank Belthor for all his help and he can slip out of the village easily under the cover of night.

He quickly finished all the arrowheads he needed for the day, and starts to summon and play around with multiple pieces of equipment to kill time. With his new core upgrade, he could probably fill this whole room with scrap and still have mana to spare.

After throwing a rusted ninja star in the air and catching it behind his back, he comes to a sudden stop as an alert appears in his vision. It's his little scout bird. When drones meet with something unexpected while out in the field, they can send an alert to grab his attention. Answering it, he sees the bird is flying high in the sky, looking toward a brown ball in the distance. It's vision zooms in making the picture clearer. A group of soldiers riding on horses, sprinting down the dirt road toward the village.
