Saltor = Angel?

4 more days passed. A black clothed figure leaped from in between the trees and struck down small animals. Finally, the figure stopped and sighed.

"I guess this is improvement..." Saltor sighed as he sat down to take a breath. The black snake's boots and cape enhanced his agility and strength. It also gave him some fire resistance. Pretty worth it for an A rank monster.

Saltor just needed to survive another 2 weeks or so and then he can finally pass the quest. As he was thinking, something slimy touched his arm.

"!" Saltor immediately jolted and jumped away. A yellow slimy vine was wriggling around. He also felt his arm being stung.

"What the-?" A flashlight suddenly appeared from the bushes, a purple haired woman and her companions emerged. At the sight of Saltor, they paused.

"Meleen...I-Is that guy human?" A small blond haired child whispered softly to the purple haired woman.

"I'm not sure, so stay behind me." Meleen said as she stood bravely infront of the group. "You, are you a human?" She brazenly pointed at Saltor

"..." People? Saltor didn't expect that he would find people in this dangerous forest. And is that slimy thing apart of their group. "...Yes."

Someone sighed in relief when Saltor answered, but Meleen was still on her guard.

"How are you able to live here in the forest? There are countless dangerous monsters around here." She observed Saltor's masked face.

"Why should I answer that? I'm not just going to stand here and answer someone's questions." Saltor narrowed his eyes.

"...Just answer the questions, and maybe we'll let you go." She growled as she clutched her hands.

Saltor frowned. Quite rude, He clicked his tongue. Normally, he didn't want to get in a fight but something tells him that the group would fight him no matter what.

"No." Saltor responded and turned away. Meleen clicked her tongue. "Alistar, subdue him!"

Saltor felt something coming at him at a fast speed. He stepped to the side and the moment he did, the same slimy vine made a big dent into the ground. He sighed and faced the people.

"The hell?"

Meleen flinched at his scowl that could be seen even with the mask. "Heilia, you go get Ann in case anything happens." She commanded the blond child. The child nodded and closed her eyes. Something lingered around the air and the child opened her eyes again.

"S-She's coming.." The child said, causing Saltor to be interested. Did the kid have a communication ability? He didn't have any more time to talk about it however as a yellow vine-y(?) blob kept trying to attack him. Saltor clicked his tongue again as the blob wouldn't relent even if he stabbed it.

"What the-? Is this thing even alive?" Saltor thought as he pinned it against the tree with his small knife. It showed no signs of pain as it continued squirming, trying to get him. Saltor ignored it's resistance and used his foot to smash it's supposed head.

It exploded and weird yellow juices splashed onto him. Saltor scrunched his face as he examined the fluid in disgust.

A thud was heard from the group. Meleen was on the ground, shaking in shock.

"W-What?! Alistar was a B rank monster!" She gasped. Her group mates seemed to cower as Meleen slowly backed up.

Saltor didn't let them get away just like that though. He dashed forward and grabbed Meleen's hair, then dashed back. He grabbed the small knife and put it against her throat. This made Meleen his hostage, and he could maybe gain something from this useless fight.

"M-Meleen!" Heilia, the blond haired girl, shouted as she tried to rush towards Saltor. But the other people in the group held her back. It was like this for a few more moments, until a red haired woman emerged from the bushes.

"Urgh, stop randomly calling me-" She paused as she stared at Meleen in Saltor's hands. Ann assessed the situation quickly before changing her expresion.

"Um...hello there stranger! Can I ask why you have one of my comrades in your arms?" Her face strained as she forced a smile.

"Give me something that is equivalent to this girl's life." Saltor just straight up ignored the red head's words and put the knife threateningly close to her neck.

"....W-Well, what are you looking for stranger?" Ann's mouth twitched, but she still smiled.

"Supplies. Give me most of your supplies or else." Saltor said.

"..." Ann's mouth didn't smile anymore. Was he a demon?! "I'm afraid we can't comply with that. Do you have any other things you need?"

"...Give me that blond girl." Saltor could see where this was going, so he just started making ridiculous requests.

"!" Ann's mouth jerked as she spun her head around and turned at the scared Heilia.

"A-Ann..." She shivered as she looked at Ann.

"...I'm afraid we can't comply with that either." Ann grit her teeth. Their reactions amused Saltor and was planning to go on more, but he had morals....since, he was an angel...right? {Man's has no morals -_-}

Her next words made Saltor pause.

"But I can offer my healing capabilities to you in exchange for that girl." She said curtly.

"A-Ann?!!!!" Heilia shouted. A bickering occurred in between the 2 and then the group joined in too. Saltor looked at this with complicated feelings.

Huh.... Saltor sighed and struck his knife against the tree. This caused all the bickering to stop and look at him.

"You, get me some food now. It doesn't have to be all of it. Just give me food." Saltor commanded. Ann flinched but she went to go get some food anyways.

Saltor let go of Meleen, causing her to hurriedly rejoin her group. Her eyes had tears of anger as she glared at Saltor.

"YOU! I won't forget you!!! I'll hunt you down one day just you wait!!!" Heilia and her group mates tried to calm her down as they cautiously glanced at the indifferent Saltor.

"Ehe...?" Heilia stiffly smiled.

Saltor took a loaf of bread from Ann and looked back at the group again.

"Bother me again, and there won't be light consequences like this." He hissed as he disappeared from their sight.

After he was gone, Ann sighed in relief before knocking Meleen's head.

"Ow!" She pouted as she looked at Ann pitifully.

"Don't give me that look. You're stubbornness and pride cost us a potential life threatening situation. We were lucky that this man wasn't that willing to kill people." She glared at Meleen. This made Meleen to stay quiet and look away.

"Plus..it cost us a loaf of bread, and Alistar." Ann sighed as she looked at the messy yellow glop scattered around.

"I know..." Meleen glumly said.

"Sigh, next time...think of how your decisions could decide the life or death of us." Ann turned away.
