Revolution

Flying above the destroyed Enies Lobby, I avoided the thick columns of the smoke from the fires. There was a clear path of destruction that led to the drawbridge. The plan was to have Evos create a bridge between the two islands, but I underestimated the effectiveness of my crewmates.

The blockade around the island was gone as Gibby walked through the wreckage, "Hey Evo's." I spoke into my Den Den Mushi. "Yeah, captain, is everything alright. I'm still sitting here in the dark, twirling my thumbs."

"I'm coming to you. Everything went perfectly, and we should make it out of here unmolested. Just one question where's the vault?" Evos' quickly rattled off the location, and I had a good idea of where he should be.

"Okay, I'll be there in a second." Turning around, I flew back to the Tower of Justice, aiming at the lower floors. I cut a square in the wall by absorbing the stone into the void and landed in the underground pathways.

"I forgot these were here." Following Evos' directions, I found the vault a giant door large enough to fit a ship through. Cutting out a doorway-shaped hole, I kicked in the thick steel, and light flooded in to illuminate a small portion of the treasure room.

"Captain, is that you?!" Opening a portal to my inventory, I pulled out a lit lantern, "Hope I didn't keep you waiting." Evos's slide down the pile of gold and treasure, coming to a stop at my feet.

"It was pretty boring, just sitting around. If I knew I wouldn't see any action, I would have stayed on the ship." Ignoring the moody teen, I started to vacuum up the seeming mountainous piles of gold.

It took me about ten minutes to clear the room, and I wondered how many pirates they had to capture to get that gold. "Take us to the drawbridge. We need to pick up the others." Evos nodded and created a large cloud, and I hopped on.

A few minutes later, we were back on Akuma, everyone smiling as we sailed away, our pockets swelling the gold of our enemies. "That was too easy. I don't know why no one had done that before." Ace shook his hat, and several bullet casings pinged off the deck.

"I believe that the element of surprise was a great factor in our success." Even though Robin was trying to act coy, she couldn't help but smile. Later that night, we partied again on the deck several wooden tables laden with food.

Hebi also joined in playing a game of catch, with the ball being large cubes of meat. "So what do have planned next captain. There's no going back now." Leana half sat half stumbled in my lap, her face flushed from drinking.

"If I tell you, I don't think you'll remember." The mink hiccuped and smiled, "I only had one glass, then another, and another..." I suddenly became a pillow as Leana fell asleep, resting her head on my chest.

Sighing, I smoothed back her hair and stood, "I guess that's curtains for me. I'll see you all in the morning." As I passed by Cal, I kissed her on the lips, "Tomorrow, it's your turn." The amazon smiled, showing a lot of teeth, "I look forward to it."

Getting into bed with Leana, I pulled her close to me. It was nice to have these moments of peace. To relax and try to forget about the past and future.

[Somewhere Unknown]

Monkey. D Dragon looked at the barren wasteland on his headquarters. The web had lit up over the past couple of days. Several operatives had caught word of someone trying to find the Army. It wasn't the first time someone had tried to locate them, but what was different this time was that they couldn't trace it back.

"Hey boss, you need to see this."Dragon turned around to see Sabo standing behind him, a newspaper and letter in his hand. Every time he saw the blonde, it pained him a little, which was saying a lot.

Dragon knew about Sabo's relationship with his son. After rescuing him as a boy, he did some digging and found out about his whole past. "What is it, and why are you holding a newspaper?"

Sabo handed Dragon the letter, "This reached one of our informants in Mary Geoise with instructions that it only be opened by you." More than a little interested, Dragon opened the letter unfolding the paper.

[Dear Monkey D. Dragon, I write this in the hope that this reaches you as what I have to say is urgent. I want to help you in your endeavor to bring down the World Government. Though exactly how I will not write here for fear of onlookers. If you want to hear, more tell me the time and place.

-Your Future Partner Arvil D. Soren]

Dragon snapped his fingers, tearing the letter to shreds, "You said this reached our spy in the Holy Land." Sabo nodded, "And there's this, I had a feeling the two were connected." Reading the headline Dragon's expression didn't change.

"Find me all the information you can on Arvil D. Soren, then set up a meeting for the next month. Tell no one about this, understand." Sabo snapped to a salute, " Yes, Commander!" Alone again, Dragon returned to his original spot.

The winds had changed, carrying new whispers and voices. "Arvil D. Soren." Dragon repeated the name, letting the wind carry the words away. He knew Soren was not to be taken lightly. While rumors of Enies Lobby collapse had been spread through the web, having it confirmed on a public paper was a different matter entirely.

"Another piece on the chessboard, though this one seems to be a dark horse." Dragon smiled, "Well, Soren, I hope you don't disappoint."

[Soren POV]

I sneezed, messing up the Poneglyph I was writing, "Damn, who's talking about me!?" Sighing I crumbled up the ruined paper, "Thanks a lot asshole."
