"Oh! I'm so sorry. It's my fault, " Min-Jung said as she quickly picked up her phone and purse and stood up.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure Christy will be there with her," Alex said, trying to calm her.

"Christy? You're on a first-name basis with her teacher?" Min-Jung asked, waggling her eyebrows playfully at him.

"Yes, her teacher. And I'm sure she is on a first-name basis with other parents, too," Alex told her defensively.

"By other parents, you mean other single fathers?" Min-Jung asked with a scoff as she waited for him to settle the bills before they stepped outside.

"It has been quite a lovely day with you, I must confess," Alex said as he held out the car door for her to go in.
