Stay beside me

'What does that even mean'?

'Does that mean I will never get the chance to walk away from here? Does it mean I am stuck here forever? Does it mean I am just one of his items now and I no longer have a life of my own? As I have been told sold to a man I know nothing about. to think I have just been sold to a man that is rumored to be the devil, to be a monster, to be evil'.

'Why? How could they do this to me? How could they do this to their only child, to their daughter to a child that they gave birth to, that they raised? How could they do this to me'?

I wasn't thinking anymore as I stood up with my mind flooded I began walking out of the room.

I could hear him calling me but I didn't turn back. It felt like an illusion, all these things felt like one bad nightmare and I couldn't help but pray that it ended.

I was finally able to find my room. Lying down on the bed, I just stared blankly into space. I wanted to cry, I wanted to scream, but nothing was coming.

I tried so hard to think about where I had gone wrong. All my life, I have always lived to please my parents and to correct their mistakes I have been kidnapped, beaten, and almost killed several times. I had to drop out of school and start working at a very early age so I could pay off their debt. I worked tirelessly for years without having any savings because I was trying to fend for them. But then, what do I get in return? I get sold to a man they are so scared of meeting.

Just so they can live freely while I stay captive to someone I don't even owe.

I spent my entire night thinking and pondering on where I went wrong but then, I realized that it wasn't me who was the problem, It was them. They are self-centered, wicked, and evil people. They do not deserve to be called parents.

I should be getting used to this by now but it didn't stop the hurt I was feeling inside. I closed my eyes and put my hand above my eyes so I could try to get some sleep but it just wasn't coming.

Just when I thought I was finally getting some sleep, I heard a knock on the door. Frustrated, I went to the door and opened it to see who it was. Apparently, it was my maid.

"Good morning young miss, it is time to take a shower. You will be accompanying the boss to his company today".

'Wait what? It's morning already? Oh come on, I didn't get any sleep'.

I sighed in frustration. Now that I had to go out, I suddenly felt like sleeping. I hurriedly took a shower and when I came out, she had already arranged the clothes I was going to wear so I put it on and took a quick look in the mirror.

It was a deep brown pencil skirt that was above my knee with a very mild milk long-sleeve top that had a flower-like knot by the neck.

It was pretty beautiful and simple. I then tightened my hair in a ponytail and quickly rushed out with a few documents that I was given yesterday.

When I got downstairs, I saw Mr Jason sitting in the dining room and having breakfast. It seems he noticed my presence as he stood up and began walking out.

"You sure did take your time".

I heard him say as we walked out so I bowed lightly and apologized.

"I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again".

After this, we said nothing else until we got to the place where his cars were packed.

To be honest I never quite understood why one person would need so many cars but they still looked extremely attractive. The major thing that caught my attention was his power bikes. There were two of them, the black, and the grey. Although I had seen so many beautiful things, these had to be the most beautiful things I have seen since I got into this mansion which was just yesterday.

It almost felt like I'd been here forever. I couldn't tell why, but I didn't feel like a slave. If anything, this man didn't even scare me. All I felt between us was like a boss and employee kind of relationship.

I felt someone tap me on my shoulder which brought me back to reality. I really need to start working on not being easily distracted.

I looked away from the bikes and realized that he had selected three different cars that would go with him today.

Mr Jason got into the one that was in the middle while two bodyguards got into the front one and two got into the one at the back. I wasn't sure of which to enter so I headed towards the one in front but the driver in Mr Jason's car called my attention and asked me to get into the one Mr Jason was in.

I didn't have the time to ask questions so I immediately hopped in. I sat in the passenger seat in front and we were on our way.

The journey to the company took longer than I thought and I began to doze off.

Jason kept looking at Nadia as she dozed off inside the car. He was worried that her eyes would be swollen with tears and that she would be extremely moody today because of what he had shown her yesterday but that didn't seem to be the case at all.

She was sleeping peacefully and she looked as beautiful as ever. He had wanted to tell him that but he didn't know how to say it so he kept it to himself.

Luckily for me, I was awake when we finally got to the office. I came out of the car and waited for Mr Jason to come out as well. The driver opened the door for him and he came out.

His company was extremely large. I had seen it once before. It was the biggest construction company in the whole city and he was expanding to China, LA, and Tokyo. He was a business mogul.

Mr Jason was in front while his bodyguards lined up behind him in pairs of two. I, on the other hand, stayed at the extreme end.

Jason noticed that Nadia was nowhere to be found so abruptly, he stopped but didn't look back. Miguel came forward to find out what was wrong and then Jason said something silently.

Miguel went backward and told Nadia to move to the front. She was then in front with Jason.

Jason bent low so that his lips were almost touching her ear and then he whispered.

"You should always stay beside me".
