I looked at him with my eyes opened wide.

'What is he talking about, how can this be my office'?

I thought but then he stood up and walked towards an office desk a bit far from his and that was the first time I noticed the desk.

"This is your desk. I don't want to have to call for you all the time".

I was still trying to process this but I just couldn't understand why he'd want me to stay in his office with him.

"I'm grateful Sir, but I really do not think this will be comfortable for either of us".

"I don't have a problem with it".

He responded almost immediately. I didn't know what else to say but the dissatisfaction was evident on my face.

Jason looked at the lady in front of him and even though he knew for a fact that she didn't like the idea, he didn't want to change his mind. It almost felt as though he had such little time and he wanted to spend all that time with her.

'Just for a while, stay with me until then'.

He said as he kept looking at her sitting on the couch.

I was still trying to wrap my head around it when a knock was heard from his door. Whoever it was didn't wait for Jason's permission before opening the door but then again, the person didn't come in completely only the head of the person could be seen.

I looked towards the door to see who it was and it turned out to be none other than Mr Derrick, Mr Jason's brother.

'Whats wrong with him'?

I asked myself as I saw him peeping and smiling.

"Can I come on"?

'Why ask when you are already half in'?

That was what I was thinking but the person who was being asked didn't bother to respond. Derrick came in anyway and he walked right towards me. I had to raise my head while bending my neck to be able to see his face. I then remembered something and immediately stood up and bowed.

"Good afternoon Mr Derrick".

I said politely and he smiled nicely.

"Hello Nadia".

He said bringing his face closer to mine making me move mine backwards.

He then moved his face away and kept smiling.

"Hey, come on, I told you already, you don't have to be so formal around me.

After saying this, he gave me a broad friendly smile and walked away.

I must admit, with the level of wealth the O'Briens have, they are pretty nice. Never in my entire twenty-nine years of living have I ever met wealthy people who are so nice without faking it.

I looked towards Jason and bowed asking him to excuse me.

Jason had been watching Nadia and Derrick all along and he felt quite jealous that he wasn't the one who was that way towards her.

"Bro, she's gone already. Might as well stop looking at the direction she went through".

"Why are you so nice to her"?

Jason asked his brother with a killer look on his face.

"Wow, wow. I know that I'm known for being a ladies' man, but I'm only trying to earn you credits you know".

Jason didn't fully understand what his brother was saying but his face relaxed and he asked.

"Credits"?

"Hmmn".

Derrick said as he came closer to the table.

"Listen bro, a lady tends to like you better when she likes your family. Don't you know that"?

Jason leaned on his chair as he continued to listen.

"Once she gets comfortable around me, she'll automatically feel like you are someone she can be with and then, boom!! She'll naturally start getting comfortable around you".

"Are you sure"?

"Trust me bro, I'm more than sure".

Jason wasn't completely convinced but he knew he had no idea whatsoever when it came to things like this so, he let it slide.

"What do you want"?

He asked his brother Derrick as he went back to the document he was working on before all the distractions and Derrick replied with a sad face.

"Do you always have to be so heartless towards me"?

"I know you want something. Get to the point".

Derrick knew it was now or never so he jumped right into it.

"I want to acquire New World's entertainment".

Jason paused for a while and then looked at his brother.

"Why"?

"They are on the verge of bankruptcy now. If I acquire the company now, it would be at a much cheaper rate and the O'Brien's can finally go into the entertainment industry. Most especially, I'd have something to do".

He said the last part in a very low voice but of course, Jason still heard him.

Jason acted like he wasn't thinking much about it and then asked.

"And"?

"Huh"?

Derrick didn't know what else his brother was expecting him to say.

"You want me to sponsor this dream of yours"?

Jason asked and Derrick began nodding like a woodpecker.

"Please Jas, I need you to trust me on this".

"And if you fail"?

Jason asked again this time, he was looking at Derrick with a very serious expression.

Derrick took a while to think of what could be a convincing answer for his brother.

"Six months... Just give me six months to prove myself. You get a share of thirty percent in the company. If it doesn't work out, I'll pay you back in full with a twenty percent interest".

"Forty".

Jason countered.

"Huh"?

"I'll be getting a forty percent interest".

"Waaa, do you really have to go that far"?

"You don't like it"?

Jason asked while behaving like he was not going to support him anymore.

"Okay, fine, fine, fine. Forty percent".

"Bring me your presentation and contract and I'll see what I can do".

Derrick was more than happy about this. He didn't expect his brother to help him. At least not after what happened five years ago.

Everyone in the family didn't talk about it and they just immediately discarded the issue but he knew that after that incident, things changed and so did the attitude of his family.
