Both my daughters

"You already know you are more than a maid to us. And this time around, you won't be collecting from us, it will be the other way around".

I was so happy hearing him say what he said and I hoped that Kanada would seize the opportunity to get a better goal for herself.

"You should take the offer".

I said. I didn't want to pressure her but I didn't want her to reject the offer either.

Kanada looked at Jason and smiled. She has always known that he is cold but caring in a subtle way. Regardless, hearing him say the things he said felt like she was hearing them from a different person.

She was grateful that he considered her one of his people and that alone was enough confirmation.

She nodded her head with a smile and I couldn't help but smile back.

Jason nodded gently and walked past us.

"Are you going somewhere"?

I asked, making him turn around to look at me. I kept looking at him waiting for his response.

"Mnn, I need to see someone quickly".

He said and I didn't say anything else.

After Jason left, Kanada engulfed Nadia in a big hug.

"Ohh"

I said as I was not expecting her to do that. She hugged me for a while and suddenly, I heard her crying.

"Are you... are you crying"?

I asked to be sure.

"Thank you, Nadia".

I heard her say as she gently released me.

"Why are you thanking me"?

I asked as I did not know the reason why. I was not the one who gave her the deal and I did not make it happen so why is she thanking me?

"It's been forever since someone was actually there for me. You looked genuinely happy for me and I don't know how to thank you for that".

I was not expecting that. I didn't know how lonely she had been I'm glad I could be there for her even if it's just a little bit.

"Ever since I met you, I've been genuinely happy. You are like my soulmate".

I smiled when I heard what she said last.

"Your soulmate huh"?

I asked in a teasing manner and she smiled.

"You better not forget your soulmate when you become a top star".

"I won't... I promise I won't".

She said and hugged me again. We soon got to the dining table and we were about to eat.

Suddenly, memories began flashing. I remembered the first time I sat at this table. I was so nervous and desperate to leave but now, I don't think I want to leave that much anymore.

Kanada left for the kitchen and returned with two other maids holding trays.

They soon dropped it and the sweet savory smell of the food penetrated my nose.

"Wow!! That smells really nice".

I said as I looked at the meal that was being served with joy all over my face.

"Go ahead and eat".

I heard Kanada say and she began going back to the kitchen.

"Wait!!"

I said and stood up immediately to go meet her.

"Where are you going"?

She looked at me and replied.

"To the kitchen".

She made it sound like it was obviously where she was going.

"I thought we were going to eat together".

I said bending my head and looking a little bit disappointed. I didn't like how she always drew the line and made it look like she was still just my maid.

But then, I heard her chuckle.

I raised my head and looked at her.

"Why... why are you laughing? What's funny"?

I asked and she replied with a smile on her face.

"It's nothing, you just look really cute".

I looked at her and pouted my lips like a baby, making her smile even wider.

"I'm only going to the kitchen to get something. Of course I'm going to come back and eat with you".

She said and my face brightened up.

"I'll be right back okay"?

She said and I nodded my head. She left for the kitchen while I went back to wait for her at the dining table.

She didn't take long before coming back so we were able to have our meal merrily.

Jason got a call earlier from someone asking him to meet up in a restaurant so he decided to meet the person there now.

When he arrived, it appeared that the person was already waiting for him. When the person's face came to view, it was none other than the prime minister himself.

The restaurant was completely empty as the prime minister had booked the entire place. The only people who could be seen were the prime minister, Jason, and some guards. Miguel was there too.

"I apologize for keeping you, Sir".

Jason said politely as he bowed to show his respect.

"It's fine, sit".

Prime Minister Blake said as he stretched his hand to the chair opposite his. Jason sat down and ordered two cups of coffee.

"I know you must be wondering why I asked to see you".

He said but Jason felt like he already knew the answer to that. It would probably be about Melissa.

"If I may ask Mr O'Brien, why do you not like both my daughters"?

He asked but Jason said nothing and just looked at him.

"Ahh, haha! Don't get me wrong, I'm only asking because I'm very curious".

He said again.

"I have nothing against them Sir. I just have feelings for someone else".

"So this is not because they are my daughters"?

He asked and Jason reassured him that that was not the reason. The prime minister nodded showing that he understood.

"I have no idea why my first daughter is so bent on getting married to you. It's probably because of how ambitious she is. I'm sure she feels getting married to you will raise both families' status".

The old man said with a smile but Jason did not reciprocate as he just sat there listening to the man speak.

He could understand that the man wanted to defend his daughters. For some reason, that made him respect the prime minister even more.

Most of the time, most high-class fathers don't really care about their children's feelings especially when it is a girl child.

"Dad"?
