Va....vampire

My heart shattered at the way his voice broke at the end. I quickly walked into his arms to give him a hug. Nobody understood my Dad more than I did, not even himself.

"Dad, you're never going to lose me. I'm your little super girl ain't I? You've taught me very well and you have made me very strong also. This your little fairy is not going anywhere without her Daddy, I promise you. We're going to be together forever."

"I know Dear, but there's much evil out there that you know nothing about. You're parents left you here for a reason. I cannot allow harm to come to you."

"You've taken care of me for 21 good years Dad. It is my turn to care for you. I'm a big girl now, trust me to take good care of myself. All you have to do my old man, is to ..."

"Who are you calling an old man girlie. I'm very young if you care to know" He flexed his muscles to prove his point. I couldn't help but to burst into laughter.

"Okay old young man, I've heard you"

"Herh stubborn girl, stop calling me old." He tickled my sides abd started laughing as well.

"Oh...Dad ....stop.."

"What's the secret word young lady?"

"Daddy stop" I couldn't take it anymore. I'll pee on myself if this continued any longer.

"That's not the word sweety."

"Please!!"

I screamed with happy tears coming out of my eyes. My Dad released me immediately. Although he was growing old, he was still quite strong and could kick my ass any day, if I fought like a human that is.

My Dad hugged me with happy tears in his eyes. " I love you so much Dear" He kissed my temple and featherly rubbed my cheek.

"I love you too Dad. Very much. " I tiptoed and pecked his cheek. My Dad means the world to me.

"Go and sleep so you that you'll wake up early tomorrow for school" I let go of his embrace and turn towards the way to my room.

"Goodnight old man." I shout and ran into my room before he can catch me.

*********

After breakfast this morning I suddenly remembered that the guy had a backpack on yesterday. I presumed it must have fallen in the woods when he collapsed and I forgot to take it when I lifted him up.

I haven't gone to check on him though. I'll do it after I find his backpack. Anyway, I don't have class until 9:15 and it's 6: 10 right now so I have a lot of time. Yeah, I'm an early bird. I couldn't sleep in even if I wanted to. That's just how my body has programmed itself.

So now I'm in the woods trying to find the backpack but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I even checked where he collapsed yesterday but nothing, nadda nadda.

Suddenly, I hear some rustling nearby and I decide to follow the in the direction it's coming from. I follow to see very cute little squirrels trying to open the big backpack .

Upon seeing me, they scurry away quickly. I kneel and open the bag to check if everything is okay. I opened to find a bunch of clothes and some papers but deep under everything, I catch a glimpse of red. I reach under to pile the things up.

To say I'm shocked is an understatement. Why would a guy be keeping a blood bag with him? It couldn't be that...

Ah! No way!

           Third Person's POV

At the time when Everlette left the house in the morning...

After having his morning herbal tea, he went into the medical room to check on the boy. He has had some questions to ask him and he hoped he'd be awake already.

Last night, after he had bid goodnight to Everlette, he had gone to check on the boy once again. To his astonishment, he saw that all the small cuts on his face had disappeared. It looked like he had not gotten hurt at all.

He decided to check his bandaid wounds as well and most of them were almost healed and new skin were starting to cover up.

He was astonished but not scared. He'd always known the world wasn't all just black and white as they say.

"You're awake" his eyes

swept on the dazed boy sitting on the bed

"Yeah, are you her father?" The boy looked at the man with almond shaped eyes filled with gratitude.

"If by her, you mean Everlette, then yeah. How're you feeling?"

"I'm great Sir. Thanks for taking care of me. I'm very grateful."

"No need to thank me, if not for my daughter you'd be dead."

"Yes, I have to thank her. But where is she?" He looks around the room, hoping to see her.

"She's gone out but I would like for you to answer a few questions for me. I don't allow strangers into my home."

"Yes Sir, I understand. Please go on."

"What are you? And don't you dare try to lie to me."

"Mmm....ermm....um"

"Boy don't try my patience."

"I...um...I'm  a.... .."

"A what? Speak up"

"Va...vampire"

"So I was right "

"But Sir please I mean no harm" he said waving his hands to show his innocence.

" Haha, you couldn't do any harm even if you wanted to. I thought you vampires were tough but you revealed your identity under such little  pressure."

"It's not like that Sir, you saved my life. And eventhough you knew my identity you still saved me. So I don't think you mean me any harm that's why."

"Mmm...okay"

"Come and eat something but there's no blood here. Also any wrong move and you're dead meat."

"Okay Sir, Thank you. "

"There's also some change of clothes on the table."

"Thank you "

Ever's father left him and went to the kitchen to put some food on the plate for him. While they were eating, the boy suddenly remembered that he came with his backpack which contained his clothes and some blood.

"Erm....Sir, please did your daughter bring any bag with her when she brought me?"
