When did you fall out of love?

Zhakhil ran after Xaddrin. After witnessing the kiss from the knight, his dragon didn't even give him a chance to explain.

He had to admit that from the back it might have seemed like they kissed on the lips but that was far from the truth, he was the person who knew the truth.

Adrian had pecked his cheek, he didn't even come near his lips. Only his dragon had the right to be that close to him.

But he rather runs away than admit that he liked him. Just once he would like to hear the dragon admit that he loves him.

"Xaddrin," he called out for the umpteenth time. His calls seemed to fall on deaf ears as the male increased the speed of his running instead of slowing down.

He moved away from Zhakhil so fast. It was unbearable to witness what he saw. He could barely process the earlier confession, he wanted to brush it as Adran playing a prank but after what he saw. He had no choice but to accept defeat.

He had lost.

Zhakhil pulled his hand and stopped him in his tracks. "Talk to me," he requested sweetly.

Hearing his sweet voice made Xaddrin's heart ache. What used to belong to him and him alone now was someone else's and there was nothing that he could do about it.

"What about?" He tried to calm his racing heart to not let it show as he spoke. Though he put on an appearance of a calm person, his mind and heart were in chaos.

He had moved back from the prince to project him. To keep him from endangering his life as he did before. No one warned him that he would have to watch the prince fall in love with someone else.

The worst thing that not getting love from the person you love is seeing the one you love move on when you still have feelings for them.

"Look at me," Zhakhil pleaded.

Xaddrin didn't grant his wish. He was afraid of looking into the very eyes that once stole his heart. He had stared into those eyes and got mesmerized. After that, he had lost to the prince and fell for him.

But now someone else's love resided in those very eyes and it hurt him to even think of looking into his eyes. He kept his gaze at the ceiling trying to avoid making eye contact.

When he was around Zhakhil, it was hard to hide the way he felt. He seemed to lose control every time that he was around the human. He was his weakness, for an old dragon such as himself it wasn't fun to be taken into such an emotional ride.

"I am tired and need rest, let go," he requested of the prince. The prince held him tighter at his request.

"I will never let you go," he found the courage to confess. The dragon turned around and pinned him to the wall. It wasn't fair for him to say such things when he had let him go such a long time ago.

It only aided to break his heart more than he already was. Zhakhil looked into his eyes and felt a pang in his heart seeing the pain in Xaddrin's eyes.

Guilt filled his heart, to get his dragon to confess that he cared for him, he learned to put tears into the eyes of the person that always made him smile.

Tears rolled down his eyes as he failed to find words to express how much he hated seeing his dragon in pain.

Xaddrin hit his fist to the wall beside his ear. "Ahh," Zhakhil screamed startled. Xaddrin kept at it repeatedly, hitting his fist to the wall as hard as he could.

Zhakhil covered his ears to stop listening to the sound of the dragon hurting himself. He didn't break eye contact with the dragon and sobbed sadly as he watched his dragon's every action.

Somehow he understood every single word that his dragon wanted to express. He knew what his dragon wanted without him saying a word. It was as though he could read his mind, their eyes spoke.

Xaddrin stopped and stepped back. His hand hurt but the pain was nothing compared to the one in his heart. "When did you fall out of love with me?"
