In your eyes

Adran waited a long while to meet the dragon so as to slay it. The entire day he had moved around the tower looking for the dragon.

He had Xaddrin and Zhakhil help him in the search. Xaddrin felt stupid having being forced to look around for himself, he only went along because the foolish prince begged him to do.

The male even went ahead to give him the puppy eyes. He had that cute look in his face that Xaddrin could not refuse. It was so embarrassing, despite not having the time to waste playing around. He was forced to go around looking for a non-existent dragon.

As the search continued, he got hold of a scent in the woods of a plant that he had been keeping an eye on. It was blooming and that was good news for him.

He excused himself and left. Zhakhil and Adran stood together watching him disappear into the woods.

"Aren't you going to go after him?" Adran questioned. He didn't find it okay for the prince to wonder off alone while the servant remained behind.

If it wasn't for the dragon he needed to find then he would have suggested going with the prince.

"No, he knows the forest like the back of his hand. He will be fine, we should find the the dragon," he told to him.

Adran nodded to him. They went on to continue searching, Zhakhil bit his lower lip wondering what had gotten his dragon to leave him. It was a relief that he was not around because of the persistent knight but he still worried.

He really wished that the knight had not shown up. Because then he would have had the chance to go with his dragon to the forest and spend some time with him.

The thought of it brought a smile to his face. They called out and shouted for the dragon to come but their efforts were futile.

Adran was beginning to question whether the rumours of the dragon keeping watch on the prince was true or not. Since he had arrived, he had not once caught sight of the dragon.

It was only Axaran and Zhakhil were all that he could see. "Maybe the dragon went for a drink of water by the lake," Zhakhil told.

He only made the suggestion so that they would move to the forest, that way he could get to catch a glimpse of his dragon. Seeing what his dragon was up to would make him happy.

It would also make him comfortable to find out what mysteries the dragon kept. To get to know why he always disappeared to the forest she would return without telling him, would make him feel better.

His mind always came up with weird reasons as to why the dragon was so secretive about his trips. One time he even thought that the dragon had a secret lover that he always meets in the forest.

It wasn't such a bad assumption and until he discovered the reason, he was not going to rule out anything.

"Should we go and check?" Adran asked.

"Yes," Zhakhik happily agreed. Together they matched to the forests to go and find the dragon.

Zhakhil's eyes searched around to find Xaddrin. His heart was restless noticing that the dragon was not anywhere to be seen. His mind was wondering around thinking of the possibility of him meeting someone else behind his back.

They were not in a relationship but he had considered the dragon to be his and that meant something. It meant that he at least had the right to know if the dragon liked someone else.

"Do you like him so much?" Adran asked him. Zhakihl jumped at the question. He had not expected to be found out by the knight so quickly.

When the dragon had not known of his secret then how could the knight know of it.

"I ha..have no idea w..what you are g..oing on about," he told to him nervously.

He got scared. He was still to find out if liking someone of the same gender was fine or not. Until he had known this, it was best that he didn't say anything about his feelings.

"I can see it in your eyes. It is very obvious," the knight stated. "I could see it in your eyes from yesterday and even now I can see that you are looking for him even know," he added.

"I we..well, I.." he tried to come up with a lie but couldn't. His face had turned red with blush, he had been caught red handed searching for his dragon.

He couldn't even deny it, it was so clear in his eyes. He wondered how it was that the knight got to know of his feelings when he had been with them only for a while when the dragon had no idea of how he felt.

"Say, if someone was in love. How would they expressed their love?" Zhakhil asked him. He wanted to know how he could woe the heart of the dragon he had fallen heads over heels for.

"But you are not in love so why should I tell you that?" Adran teased. He could see Zhakhil's ears turning red, the male was playing with his finger, he could guess that he was probably contemplating telling him the truth.

'First love is so cute,' he thought.

"Wont you just tell me, for future reference?"

"Alright, I will show you," Adran gave in. It was his first time meeting Zhakhil and didn't want to tease him too much.

"Thank you," the prince let out excited. The books he read taught him or romance but not how to romance a person. But a real life person was ready to teach him how to. And hopefully, he could use what he learns to get the dragon to fall in love with him.

"To show that you love someone, you need to stand close to them," Adran instructed.

"Like this?" Zhakhil inquired inching close to him.

"That means that you are friends," Adran told. "Move closer," he added.

Zhakhil moved a little closer to him. The distance they stood was so close that they could feel each other's breaths.

"Then?"

"Then, you look the one you love in the eye. Love flows through the eyes, so it is important to maintain eye contact," he informed the prince. "But don't stare just gaze," he added.

"Got it," Zhakhil said stepping back. He stepped on a slippery stone and fell back. Adran reacted in time and caught him and pulled him back up.

He held him by the waist to stabilize him from falling. Zhakhil looked up to him feeling grateful for the save, he opened his mouth to say thank you.

"I see the two of you are getting familiar with each other," Xaddrin let out making an appearance.

Zhakhil looked down at how Adran held him and raised his gaze to meet Xaddrin's. "The.. t..that.. what happened.."

"I didn't ask for an explanation," the dragon let out and walked away.
