Ace waited a couple of minutes as the two finally fell silent, Cleo suddenly realizing what it just said. 

"Ah, Ace. Don't mind-"

"Don't tell me." Ace mumbled, looking at the woman. "When Cleo said that you can't die … but you said that deities can die. So how does that make sense? What is going on here?"

"There is no point in keeping this a secret from you," Novella said, smiling at the boy. "We still have time. Would you like to hear my story?" 

"Novella, I don't think-

"Sure!" Ace said immediately. "Does it have anything to do with you writing your name on the tree?"

Cleo and Novella looked at Ace quietly for a second before the woman burst out laughing, "So you already figured it out, I see." 

"I just guessed it." Ace said, sheepishly. "Now, go on. How did you become a Deity? How did you even write your name here? I need to know."
