Chapter 47:Game After Dinner.

I was still lost in thoughts even as I drove back home. I wished I could stay longer with her as myself and not somebody else. I enjoyed watching her and was so tempted to make Tommy stay longer. My thought went back to the morning at the gym and I ran a hand through my hair and sighed.

My phone rang and I was brought back to reality from my thoughts. I looked at the caller, it was Tommy.

" Yo bro " I answered.

" Wanna race? " the excitement in his voice made me smile. Maybe it was because we never had time to goof around as teenagers. I didn't feel like racing at that moment but I couldn't say no with the excitement in his voice.

"What is the winner getting then? " I knew he already thought of something.

" Okay, if you lose then Lisa works in your company" That was nothing close to what I was expecting.

" Wait!! What?..." He hung up before I could even finish what I was trying to say.

" I could kill him right now. " I muttered angrily.

He zoomed off immediately after he hung up, he had planned it out.

He was laughing when he saw my car entering the parking lots.

" Cheater, "I said as I got out of my car.

" Oh please, don't be a sour loser. " I just looked at him and shook my head which made him laugh harder.

Thirty minutes later I got changed and dressed as the old man, called back the bodyguards and my driver.

" I'll meet you at the mansion, I've got a little business to take care of," Tom said as he moved towards his car. I nodded as I turned towards my car. He met me at home an hour later.

" Hey bro " He greeted as he took a sit beside me.

" Hey," I responded looking at him before looking back to my phone.

" She's gonna work at your Bright Enterprises right? " ' He really won't drop this?'

"Can I ask you a question?" I couldn't help asking.

"Sure" He nodded.

" Why do you care about her so much? " I wondered if he fell in love with her too, I felt a surge of jealousy the moment the thought crossed my mind.

" Because I know she can make you happy. " He smiled a little as he said that then stood up immediately and left.

As much as I would want to deny it I knew he was right, seeing her alone gave me this happiness in my heart I couldn't explain.

If only things were different If only her dad was a different man.

He was back thirty minutes later carrying two gamepads.

" Let's play a quick one before Lisa gets back," He went to fix up the gamepad. We had only played for about ten minutes when she got back. I turned around the moment I heard her light footsteps, I didn't need to be told it was her.

" Hello, Mr Kelvin. " She greeted as she entered, which caught Tommy's attention as he turned around to look at her.

" Hey, Lis" Tommy greeted.

" Hey Tom " She smiled at him.

" Hello," I said briefly.

"I'll go shower " She turned to leave.

" You're gonna come down when you're done yeah? " He asked before she took three steps.

" Yeah, I will " Came her reply which made me happy.

" Okay, we are waiting " He turned to continue the game.

We continued playing till she was done and was back. Tom had just given her a gamepad when Nancy came to announce that dinner was ready. I kept stealing a glance at her as we ate, she wasn't that much of an eater but not picky either. I just liked looking at her, she raised her head a few times to find me watching her.

" How about our game? " Tommy asked the moment she stood to go.

" Hmmm... Sorry I won't be able to, I just remembered I have to attend church tomorrow." She replied and my heart sank.

" Come on Lisa, It's just 8 pm, Do you normally sleep this early? " He asked her again.

" Not really, other days I would be closing the coffee shop now. " I almost smiled, her honesty was surprising then again it's not shocking considering how she was even honest about being a Virgin. I found it intriguing.

" Then play a game with us before going to bed, if you have excuses know I won't take them so don't bother making any. " Tom said like she no longer had a say in it which made her speechless. The corner of my cheek rose a little.

" The game won't take much time " I finally said firmly, I pretended like nothing they said interested me but I paid attention to every single word she said.

" Have you ever played PES? " Tommy asked looking at her.

" Yeah, I have, " She replied with a nod.

" Really? That's to be expected from a tomboy " Tommy teased and that made me smile, I remembered the first day I met her at the marriage registry office.

" Do you play well? I can't afford to be beaten by Xavier and still be beaten by you." Tom said before remembering he had said something wrong.

" Xavier plays PES also? " She asked after making a face.

" Of course, he a pro. There was this one time we played he scored 10 goals in the first half, he was mad that day." Tommy exaggerated.

" He was angry and he scored 10 goals in the first half? Isn't one supposed to be losing when they are angry?" I smiled at her question. I never thought about that before, why does anger make me do better instead? It was like my drive.

" Yeah but not Xavier, he's better at everything when he's angry " Tommy went on.

" Stop exaggerating Tom." I finally managed

" Oh please, you're an old man, how will you understand? " I looked at him annoyingly before saying.

" An old man who plays PES better than you, isn't that a shame?."

" Oh come on. Isn't that why you're my mentor Dad? " Tommy replied making a face and she smiled.

" How can they be like this regardless of the age gap between them? " I heard her mumble, if I wasn't paying so much attention to her I wouldn't have heard it.

" Pardon? " Tommy interrupted but she shook her head instead.

Tommy and Lis played first while I just watched, it ended with a draw in the first half and I could see she was good.

' She's so your type Xavier, Revenge or love? ' The thought came out of nowhere. ' Even if I choose to go for love and I tell her why I married her would she forgive me? '

" How are you this good Lisa? why didn't you tell me you were this good?" Tom asked her bringing me back from my thoughts. She turned to look at me and found me smiling.

" It's been a while since I played. " She said.

" Who taught you how to play? " Tommy asked.

" Liam did," Came her reply

" Liam? " Tommy asked. I hated the fact that she spent so much time with him, I was jealous.

" Yeah, you met them today, Liam and Hadassah " She continued.

" Oh sorry, only female names stay in my head. Hadassah " Tommy said with a smile, he looked in my direction and I gave him a look.

' oh found a girl I see. '

" Well, at least there's one thing you both have in common." Her expression made it obvious she didn't mean to say it out loud.
