Chapter 34

Seeing as everyone was deciding what they were going to do, Isla took Sila's hand and pulled her away from the group. Thankfully the area they're in was full of inns. She tried to use her aura to sense which inn had the least amount of people, so as not to draw too much attention, but came across an interesting discovery.

She followed the road leading to the largest inn, her aura couldn't break through the rooms on the upper level, which at least meant the inn had something that could block other people's senses. Isla didn't know what was wrong with Sila and herself, but she definitely knew she didn't want others prying into their privacy.

Walking into the building, she could see the luxury of the materials used and groaned inwardly. She knew this wasn't going to be cheap. Luckily they had earned quite a fortune from their time adventuring in Rusvil.

Isla came to the reception and said as flatly as possible, "I'd like one of the rooms on the third floor".

The young female receptionist looked at the twins in front of her, a little disbelieving as to whether they could afford to open a room here, but knowing that it's best not to underestimate anyone, she responded with a smile "20 gold coins per night, how long do you plan to stay with us?"

Isla was truly thankful that they happened upon that dwarven ruin, without the treasure they found throughout it, the total amount they earned adventuring wouldn't even come close to enough to be able to rent a room here for even one night. She took out 60 gold coins and said "Three nights should be enough".

The receptionist saw that she could pull out so many gold coins in one go, secretly thankful for her cautious thoughts, otherwise she might have offended someone she shouldn't. She pulled off a key for the third floor and handed it to Isla, "The room number is on the key. Would you like me to show you the way?"

"No. We're fine, thank you" Isla replied.

She pulled Sila, who had been silent the whole time towards the stairs, not caring about the environment around them.

So she happened to miss Erin and Delia who had followed in. Erin looked at the backs of the sisters who ascended the stairs, wondering out loud "Can two 17 year old girls afford to stay in this inn?"

Delia was also a little surprised, 20 Gold coins may not be much in the capital, but in a place like Rusvil, it would be enough to buy into their upper class. She guessed that they came for the privacy of the upper rooms. After all their are some things that nobles who are passing through, don't want others to know they do.

Which is a perfect place to get through the period of losing control. She just didn't understand why both of those girls happened to lose control at the same time. Is there something strange in Etrida? Why wouldn't she, who is two ranks higher than them feel it?

So many doubts came from the two of them, but the pair in question had managed to rush to their room, closing the door and looking at each other.

Isla had noticed that Sila was too obedient along the way. The two of them had bouts of aura instability before, but never to thus extent. Even now they could still feel its tyranny trying to invade their minds.

The reason she was so calm in the face of it, is because she knew that she wouldn't hurt Sila, and Sila wouldn't hurt her. However when she saw Sila sizing her up, she felt her eye start to twitch. She had obviously forgotten that Sila had expressed her feelings to her, and she hadn't yet accepted those feelings. Although she had become a little shaken, but now she seemed to be in a bit of a pickle.

She knew there was no point trying to reason with Sila at the moment. The both of them were on the verge of going crazy. She however was not giving up easily. The two of them hadn't had a hearty fight in a long time and she thought today was a perfect chance.

Sila obviously had enough reason to know what her sister wanted, so she maintained her stance, waiting for Isla to take the initiative.

Isla thought 'Whatever happens today, we'll deal with it when we're sober'.

The sound of crashing and breaking echoed throughout the room, yet outside not a single thing could be heard.

No one noticed the two chaotic auras that for a time were trying to overpower each other, fighting for supremacy. However the two auras seemed to understand that they were perfectly matched, neither side would be able to beat the other, so the two sides began to change their style, choosing to caress and cherish, blending together.

The violent crashing and banging, mixed with shouts and screaming, was replaced by a much more alluring and harmonious mixture of sounds.

Unbeknownst to the city. The violent and tyrannical aura that had been imbued into the city wall, was absorbed by a gentle, but domineering combination of two similar auras, emanating from a certain third floor room.

This however, did not go unnoticed by a certain family residing in the capital.

In a solitary room of a well guarded estate. A pair of sharp eyes opened in the darkness. Understanding why he had been disturbed, he looked towards Etrida. His powerful voice echoed throughout the estate, "Which of the descendants earned the blessing of our ancestor in Etrida?"

The voice had alarmed the inhabitants of the estate. They quickly appeared in the main hall. The patriarch walked to the centre of the room, looking at the people standing around, "You heard what the elder asked, which of the children has gone to Etrida?"

Silence filled the room, everyone looked at each other with doubt, until one of the older men, in charge of the communications of the family spoke, "I don't remember any of the children heading anywhere near Etrida".

"Impossible" the elders voice sounded, "I can no longer feel the aura of the ancestor. Perhaps one of the branches of the family has awakened a talented junior. Find whomever it is, and bring them back. The aura left by the ancestor will take time to strengthen the child.

They need to be brought back before the other houses catch wind of this. We can't lose the chance of gaining another powerhouse for the family".
