Prologue, Chapter 4

Germanican Pride Institute. The Kingdom's leading school in blah blah blah. How pretentious. I adjust the tight and impractical uniform that all students are forced to wear.

Marcus who is walking alongside me suddenly says, "This is the first day so please don't make any of our classmates cry or make an enemy of the teachers."

I turn to him in shock and beffudlement as I ask, "Since when have I done anything of the sort?"

Marcus is amused as he responds, "Just try to behave."

Side by side we enter the very pretentious school that's unsurprisingly in the middle of the Noble's district. At least they bothered actually using proper technology alongside the really antique Germanican architecture, even if the door sensors just add even more to the pretentious image. They could have just used regular sliding glass doors but no, they had to use large wood and metal doors.

"Any idea where our classroom is?" I never really like to bother with anything when it comes to school and while Marcus isn't a star student, he at least bothers to put in some modicum of effort.

Marcus cracks a small smile and laughs nervously. I stop walking and ask, " Please don't tell me you don't even know where our classroom is?"

"It's not that but-" Whatever he was about to say was cut off as we hear someone running towards us. The steps are much faster than any normal human could probably pull off. Reinforcement then, likely has skill in combat applications of magic then

Just as the steps faded I swiftly twisted my body and caught a kick aimed at my head. Instinctively slamming my attacker to the marble floor, I twist their limbs and pin them down. All of which happened in just 2 seconds. It was only after I pinned my attacker down did I finally take in their appearance.

A young male around 16-18, our age. Short blonde hair, green eyes. Healthy and fit, has some combat experience. My Insight took in as much as it could yet I still have no idea who this is.

I shoot a questioning glance at Marcus as I exert more pressure on the guys back to cease his struggling.

Marcus takes in his appearance and his eyes widen in shock. He knows who he is and is surprised, my Insight informs me. "Achilles Troy?!" Marcus exclaims in shock.

The now named Achilles Troy finally decides to speak, "YES! NOW LET ME GO, YOU ASS!"

I ignore his demand and calmly ask, "Why did you attack me?"

Achilles grinds his teeth and grits out, "You're a Longinus and your mother used to be a Magical Beast Hunter, I intended to challenge you."

His admission only confuses me until Marcus helpfully clears things up by adding, "He's an adopted child of the Troy Noble Family."

Oh. Makes sense I guess.

I get off the struggling boy and calmly make sure my uniform is unharmed. Achilles is confused and asks, "Aren't you mad?"

After fixing up my uniform as best I could I shrug and walk away, however it appears that he hasn't taken a hint yet and grabbed my shoulder to forcefully make me face him. He's resolute in whatever he's decided.

There's trepidation in his eyes but his voice still rings out clear as he declares, "Cassius Longinus, I apologize for my rudeness but I challenge you to a duel!"

I just stare blankly at him and turn away while giving my response, "No."

I start to walk away while Achilles voices out his confusion, "No?! What do you mean no?!"

Achilles dashes in front of me and holds out his arms, he's very confused as he tries to reason with me, "I challenged you to a proper duel, as an heir of Longinus it is your duty to accept it and defend your family's honor is it not?"

Honor, responsibility. What a fucking joke, my annoyance seeps into my voice as I bite out, "Lucky I'm not an heir of Longinus anymore then."

I walk past the irritating idiot as Marcus catches up with me.

"Well at least you weren't the one that started it this time." Marcus quips, yet despite his lighthearted joke it's clear he's concerned. I've moved on. I'm fine.

"Where is our classroom then?" I'd rather not get in trouble on the first day for being tardy.

Marcus turns his head away from me as he answers, "Yeaaahhhh, about that."

An orientation. There weren't any orientations back in GSS. At least I brought my phone today.

Ahhh Blue Sky is probably one of the only pure things in this desolate world. A gacha game where every character you can get is a waifu? I love Yamato, it's a land of culture and created my only escape from this cold, cruel world.

I'm continuing to enjoy the adorable gameplay of the chibi waifus fighting Magical Beasts until- "Ah-" someone snatched my phone out of my hands, I turn towards whoever is stupid enough to-

Oh.

"You're supposed to listen to the orientation Cassius." Since it's Medea I'll concede defeat for now.

Crossing my arms and grumbling to myself, I reluctantly listen in case of anything important. The school year is starting now.

I have a bad feeling about this.
