The Chase

Damon chased her down the gravel path and cursed himself for his own insensitive stupidity. The truth was, he wanted her the moment he set eyes on her. The moment she turned away from him; aloof.

It was the chase that excited him.

Like a wolf hounding its prey. But it was her beauty too. Her eyes held an innocent sweetness that he found irresistible. Her new confidence made his desire even more fervid than that innocence. It was taking every ounce of his princely sensibilities to hold him back. For Pan's sake he almost growled in front of Violet when she said he was sexy.

Dabbling in mortals though was not a decision to take lightly especially for a Satyr fascinated with everything in it. A Satyr that had only a month until he was forced to return to the realm of Valharinune to pick a mate. He only had a fucking month. He didn't want to hurt her, or any mortal woman when leaving was inevitable, which is why he never dabbled in the first place.

"Wait," he said grabbing her arm as he caught up to her.

"Could you please call me a Uber?" She blurted teary eyed.

He rubbed his thumb beneath her eye and grabbed her waist with his other hand. Then he leaned down and planted a deep kiss on her lips. His intention was to kiss her, let her know that he thought her attractive.

A parting gift so to speak but no more.

But instead he sunk himself in deeper plunging his tongue inside her warm mouth. A frown formed across his brow as he fought against his feelings. He only meant to kiss her tenderly.

To say sorry.

But she pulled him in closer. His hands held her face then gently he stroked the front of her throat as he broke his mouth away. His strong hands lingered just a moment as he pulled back.

Her languid eyes held his.

"I'm sorry." He said low and deep. "Don't think I'm not attracted to you, I am. Your fiancée is a fucking idiot and so is any man that acts like a, "he paused thinking, his eyes searching for the word she used. "Any man that treats you like a scoundrel, is not worth your time. Nod if you understand."

She nodded her head as she inhaled. The movement caused her breasts to rise and fall, making it even more difficult for him to let go. His hands slowly glided to her hands. His fingers playfully touched hers until he finally let go. "It's just that you've been drinking, and I wouldn't want to take advantage of you."

She watched him through her dark lashes, her eyelids lowered in a dreamy eyed gaze. There was a sheen on her pink lips that he could see in the moonlight; the moisture from his mouth.

That vision nudged against his cock. The knowing that he had put it there. He took her hand in his then led her back to the house. "I'll show you to your room now." But what he really wanted was to place her hand against his erection, which bulged against his jeans.

He wanted to show her what she did to him.

But it was out of the question. As she was to him. He was leaving and she was already suffering from a broken heart. The last thing he wanted to be was… What was the word again?

A scoundrel.

****

Ella couldn't help but feel as if she were in a dream.

A very surreal dream.

His kiss was electrifying. Her body was now taut and dripping with a sexual tension she never even knew she had. Every step she took along-side him was torture. She felt a warm humid moisture on every inch of her skin.

It scintillated, begged to be touched again by the man that said he didn't want to take advantage of her. Advantage, she thought. She could still taste him in her mouth, his scent just beneath her nostrils.

Did he notice her hand? Its clamminess formed as he led her along inside the house. She burned with desire like she never had before. It was like a fever that seared and sizzled from her head to her toes.

Advantage, there was that word again floating in and out of her mind.

She wanted him to take advantage of her. Her eyes begged it.

The way he made her feel when his tongue thrust inside her mouth left her with a dampness between her legs. It throbbed there as they continued up the stairs. Breathe she told herself. Just breathe.

Ella forgot herself. The details and oddities of the house she had noticed before were now nothing more than passing blurs. Finally, they reached the top of the stairs. A few more steps and they were standing in front of a large dark door.

"This is the guest room," he whispered low then swallowed. "Goodnight Ella Sweet." His eyes held hers in a half vacant gaze.

She stepped close to him pressing her body against his but he stepped backward. "Ella, it's time for you to go to bed." He chided.

"Will you kiss me goodnight?"

He leaned in and pressed his mouth on hers. This time she took advantage as she thrust her tongue inside his confidently. She swirled it around and breathed him in. There was a sweetness she could taste that was irresistible. It made her want more. It made her want to go deeper.

She gently nipped his lower lip and thought she heard him growl, low and deep. She wanted it to go on forever, but he broke free.

"Ella," this time he scolded her. "Go in and go to sleep. I'll see you in the morning."

She let out a sigh as she bit her lower lip then slowly obeyed shutting the door behind her.

Ella let her body lean back against the door using it as a support for her now weak body and wobbly knees. She ran her hand through her hair and tried to wrap her mind around what had occurred.

If he had touched her just a little more, caressed her, or kissed her any deeper she was certain she would have been nothing but a puddle of clothing at his feet.

She didn't know if it was the alcohol, the situation or something more. If this is even an inkling of what it's like to be in love…

Silly Ella, she thought to herself.

They only just met.
