28 Chapter 28: Time Bomb

“May not know you well? I think I know you pretty well by this point,” the toffee-eyed pool shark challenged, guiding them off the busy street and down a quiet path.

“No Seeley, you just….” He huffed and kicked at a seashell. “You just came into my life like a hurricane and flipped my world upside down. The ‘Asher’ you know, isn’t him… You don’t know everything about me.” The gorgeous green-eyed surfer rubbed a hand through his hair, something that Seeley had seen him do as a nervous trait.

She just bit her lip. She didn’t like how any of this was going.

Visions of Colton laughing about her flashed through her mind. Mocking her, making her feel like she wasn’t worth anything. Right now, Asher wasn’t implying she wasn’t worth anything, but she got a feeling he was starting to reject her all the same. 

And it was for reasons she didn’t understand at all.
