I'll take you home.

One simple word.

Just that very word he used to describe her and yet, Xia Jiannan almost went crazy again.

Her voice actually reminded him of snowflakes. It was cold yet it was so soft and fragile that a single touch could melt it.

But he didn't get her. Why did she say "soft"?

With his brows furrowed, Xia Jiannan looked at Wang Rouxi's side profile, "What?"

Wang Rouxi cast a glance at his direction, a trace of amusement could be seen flickering in her captivating eyes.

"Rouxi. I am called Rouxi, Mr. Xia Jiannan."

Xia Jiannan's mind was in a buzz as he looked lost in his thoughts after hearing Wang Rouxi's introduction. His thoughts wandered somewhere else.

Rouxi, huh?

Why did it sound so familiar?

Had he and this beautiful woman met before?

After rummaging through his memories, Xia Jiannan could not remember a time when he had been in contact with a blonde woman named Rouxi, but something flashed in his mind.

Could she be that Rouxi who had saved them a few years back?

But Xia Jiannan quickly shook his head, dismissing that outrageous idea.

It was absolutely impossible for her to be that person. Xia Jiannan was sure of it because that woman was already dead, and he had seen it with his very own eyes.

As he was in a daze, Xia Jiannan did not notice Wang Rouxi moved from the driver's seat.

Wang Rouxi twisted in her seat to face Xia Jiannan before reaching out for his necktie, pulling him close to her.

The sudden forceful tug snapped Xia Jiannan out of his thoughts, his eyes widening upon seeing Wang Rouxi's face only a few inches away from his.

Badump!

Xia Jiannan's heart skipped a beat. Their close proximity made it hard for him to breathe.

'What was this woman doing?'

But before he could even react, Xia Jiannan felt cold yet soft hands cupping his cheeks, his forehead touching Wang Rouxi's.

Xia Jiannan's mind went blank, his eyes widened as he stared straight at Wang Rouxi's calm ones. Because of his absentmindedness, he had overlooked the fact that no one was driving the car.

On the other hand, Wang Rouxi acted like this was no big deal.

She was calmly checking Xia Jiannan's temperature because she noticed that he had not been feeling well when he got into her car.

Looking at his current appearance, Wang Rouxi realized that Xia Jiannan was indeed not in a good shape. His neck and ears were red, and beads of sweat were rolling down his forehead.

Wang Rouxi decided that she would bring him home quickly so as to attend to him. "Don't you worry, Mr. Xia. I'll take you home."

Having said that, Wang Rouxi placed a gentle kiss on his forehead before turning back in her seat to manually drive the car.

Didn't they say that a kiss could make the pain go away?

Wang Rouxi did not even realize the big impact that kiss brought to Xia Jiannan.

Though the car had self-driving function, Wang Rouxi still preferred to drive it manually as she could control the speed and she could maneuver it more fluidly.

Just then, a speeding car whizzed past them, almost hitting the left side of the car. Luckily, Wang Rouxi was able to react in time and swerved the car to the right.

Because of the sudden jerk of the car, Xia Jiannan barely managed to stop himself from ramming into the car's door. He was immediately brought back into reality, using his right hand as his support to prevent his head from colliding to the window.

Wang Rouxi, afraid that Xia Jiannan was hurt, quickly turned back to check on him, "Are you alright?"

Xia Jiannan could only nod his head in response, his heart was still beating erratically. It might be because of the sudden kiss or the near death experience. Xia Jiannan didn't know.

"Hmm... Buckle your seatbelt. We're moving faster." Wang Rouxi didn't expect to run into a problem. However, she did know that this man could not be put in any danger.

Hearing this, Xia Jiannan didn't think twice and immediately fastened his seatbelt.

Although he was quite unsure of what was happening, the instant he turned back and looked behind him, he noticed a few cars trailing behind them.

These cars didn't have plate numbers or any induction stickers. They were undoubtedly used to hide any traces after committing crimes.

Xia Jiannan then glanced at the woman in front. He didn't know why, but at that moment, he felt that he should trust her.

"Bring me to the Xia Family's old residence." This was the best option. Even if these people caught up to them, they would not be able to breach the tight security there.

"No."

Xia Jiannan's eyes snapped towards Wang Rouxi, he didn't think that this woman would disagree with him. The Xia Family's old residence is known as one of the places with the best security.

But the next thing that came out of her mouth honestly took him by surprise.

"I'll take you to my home."
