Finding Goblin Existence

Some time has passed since I talked with Jed about the academy and becoming an adventurer. For some reason, he seems reluctant to about that topic now. He seems to dodge the topic every time it rose in a conversation. Though, I can't blame him for it's indeed painful to speak something so vain.

For the past few weeks, I've been thinking of a way for us to get into knight academy. As for magic academy? I've thrown that aside, in order to focus on more realistic options.

In order to come up with some plan, I've dug out a few pieces of information about this place. it turns out that the name of this place is Oldham town (a lame name) and it's located in the southwest of this kingdom with a population of around 900, not more than 1000 people I believe. Really, I overestimated this place before. This place really a rural town out of nowhere.

Now, with this information alone I almost give up chasing whatever dream that I have. But the name of this place is the same as the one in the novel. And if my guess is true, I can use that information to get some reward from the town lord. I just hope that he's not that stingy.

On the west side of this town, there's a mountain with a not-so-big forest around it. Now, if my prediction is correct, then this village will be destroyed by a horde of goblins coming from the forest area around that mountain in the near future. I can't predict when though.

In the story, when the main character began to accept quests from the adventurer guild, there's one quest that took place in this town, which is a goblin extermination quest. Except, this town is no longer here. I don't remember what happened clearly, but this town is supposed to be deserted and destroyed because of an incoming goblin attack from the forest in the future.

I plan to use that information to get what I wanted and protect everyone where while we're at it. It's like killing two birds with one stone, except that the bird is quite strong and the stone may not be strong enough to kill it. It means that there's a big chance for me to fail to kill even one bird.

In order to convince myself, starting from last week, each night after work I go to the forest to check whether there's proof of goblins there. With the pretext that I go out to train my body and stamina to get into a knight academy in the future.

When my parents heard that I intend to go to the knight academy now, they just sighed and just let me be. Maybe they thought that it was a more reasonable dream to reach. Anyway, it's been a week since then but I still haven't found anything goblin-related yet inside the forest.

The novel describes that there's a mountain cave just at the foot of the mountain after reaching the end of the forest from the town. I've reached the foot of the mountain. It's always takes about thirty to forty minutes by walking from my house, but it could be faster if I run. Inside the mountain cave is where the goblin lives.

After reaching the mountain foot, I start to walk circling the mountain from the right. After around 30 minutes of walking, I found a mountain cave. When I go near it, I could hear a human-like monster voice from inside. Getting nearer to this would be extremely dangerous so I decided to finish my search and go back.

This information would make the adult believe. The town lord also won't leave this information alone as goblins are believed to be a really dangerous monster if we leave them to breed into many. At least, a poor town like ours couldn't handle goblins in large quantities. So they wouldn't leave it alone. The future where the town is deserted is proof of that.

Now all I hope is for the adult to believe me and the town lord to be not stingy.
