Fool's Errand

The world has never been fair to Ronan and bad luck seems to be his middle name. Going about his business, he is suddenly transported to another world which seems to be very familiar to him, yet the ride to the destination was anything but desirable. Rather than endure and give up, why not laugh? "HAHAHAHAAHA! Nothing ever goes my way!" PS. This is for fun. This is my first book so there might be grammar mistakes or mistakes in general, but I hope to learn. Summary might be changed but I don't want to put too much into it since I like surprises. Thanks for reading!

Chapter 2

As I was being engulfed, normally panic would be a natural response to such a situation but I am all too familiar with absurd circumstances so the only thought that came to mind was: what now?

My body felt horrendous as it felt like I could barely move my body and feels likes the stinging sensation you would get when your foot falls asleep. Not to mention that my consciousness kept attempting to slip away from me, but I wouldn't let it happen. There is no way I am sleeping or fainting before I know what is going to happen to me first.

With the constant fighting going on in my head, my head felt like it was going to be split apart.

"I guess I don't have much brains," I joked.

I then started looking at the situation at hand.

"I can't stand this feeling; I need to find a way out. Holding out any longer seems impossible." I said while grasping my head.

I looked around to where I was and then realized that I was stuck in a void full of static which made it very difficult to discern anything that was happening around me.

Thats when I noticed a small hole with light coming through it that will be missed if you were not to look very closely. Like a very bright small flashlight.

'Normally, I wouldn't touch anything that seems ominous but what choice do I have? Chances of something going horribly wrong in this place seems quite probable so whatever. Here goes nothing.'

I reached towards the white flashlight, and I was nearing it, warmth started engulfing me and it was getting hotter and hotter but still I continued to reach for it. It was an all or nothing gamble. Either stay in this void where I feel like I am going to slowly disappear or grasp the weird hot anomaly in the void. Honestly, not a very tough decision.

Now fully enclosed in my hand, the pain I went through felt like the sun decided to finally land on earth and it point of impact was simply you. Only you. On top of being hot, the heat coursed through my veins and my body started convulsing.

I was writhing in pain. No matter how much I wanted to scream, no words came out, yet I continued to grasp the light.

The light all of sudden started cracking and it looked similar to the world distortion I saw earlier only this time, there seemed to be only light.

The pain subsided and as if right on cue, the light engulfed me.

As my eyesight was returning from a huge amount of light my eyes were forced to endure, I noticed white marble flooring that only the truly rich use. I was in a crawling position when I came through that sort of portal like thing then I lifted myself up.

"I'M NOT GOING TO BE DONE IN BY SOME MAGICAL SHIT THAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND! YOU HEAR ME UNIVERSE!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

Terrible luck is one thing but outright killing me is an absolute no-no. Like seriously, I am decent guy and yet I have to endure some horrible shit like this. I absolutely refuse to kick the bucket.

As my inner thoughts continued, my thoughts were suddenly interrupted when I heard a loud shout coming 50 feet in front of me.

"Human, how did you manage to get to this place!!!?" commanded the voice.

Looking forward, I realized I was standing in a lavish looking palace that resembled a church or huge cathedral of sorts except without benches. Everything was with white and gold and there were multiple paintings depicting angels. On top of the steps, I noticed that there were 2 people looking at me. At least, they look human except for an obvious difference. The white wings.

There was a very handsome blonde man with gold eyes looking at me with a look full of disgust and a face full of wrath. His hair was a bit wavy and everything about him screamed perfect. He wore light majestic gold armor that covered his chest and the lower part of his body with arm guards and was holding a spear in hand that was clearly aiming at me. He looked exactly like a knight from fairy tales.

Behind him, was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen who wore white robes that screamed, 'I am a goddess.' She had an hourglass figure which seemingly look to be able to charm anyone and there were no imperfections in sight. She also had golden blonde hair which was tied up to make a wavy ponytail and gold eyes that sparkled with the surroundings. She wore all kinds of jewelry that matched well with her outfit and was holding a staff with a white crystal at the tip of it. She was looking at me with curiosity.

I stood there dumbfounded. 'What the hell is going on?!'

"I SAID HOW DID YOU GET HERE! ANSWER!" The male commanded once again, this time applying immense pressure towards me.

I immediately fell straight to the ground as I already went through a lot. It felt like gravity was pushing me down and there was a crack on the floor where I was laid.

'Shit! Is this the pressure I hear about in the novels I read? This is seriously no joke. I also can't move, much less answer. Damn it! It hurts!!' I thought.

I mustered all I had just to answer, "I don't know! Let me go! I'll leave since I also don't want to be where I am not wanted!"

The man was pissed!

"Goddess Aria, please head to the back of the cathedral! I will take care of this creature! He is dangerous! There should be no way he should be able to come in here unannounced! He might very well be a demon or signed a contract with one," The man spoke to the lady with concern.

'Goddess Aria? The Goddess Aria! Wait, Wait! Isn't that a character I created when I was 14 years old!? Surely it must be a coincidence. But why does the palace look the same as I described it? Why does she look like what I described in the book? No, no, no it can't be! If that is the case, then the guy next to her is... "

"Michael, I have faith that nothing will happen with you here. Afterall, I am more capable than you seem to remember," remarked Aria.

'Shit!'
