1 Season 1, (Part 1/2)

In a land of nothingness far, far away..... There is an old man holding a what looks to be a ball of light, while muttering to himself... After a while there finally seems to be some changes as he lets go of the soul and lets it drift into a sort of portal...

"Enjoy your new life..." The old man says to no one in particular and fades into the unknown...

Mc's name is: Ito Takagi

(Time skip, 15 years)

A exhausted looking boy is laying upon his bed, this here is Takagi and he just finished his graduation from Totsuki middle school... "Today was an exhausting day, is Totsuki high-school going to be even harder?" Takagi said to himself before falling asleep due to exhaustion.

The reason Takagi was like this is because of the Totsuki middle school graduation test. He is also happy... for two reasons; one being he gets a three-month vacation another being he gets to go to Totsuki High school.

A/N: Since he went to Totsuki middle school he does not need to take the entrance exam, btw Soma joins in Totsuki High school.)

These three months were peaceful for Takagi, he cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner for himself. Relatively enjoyed his vacation... And just like that his vacation was over.

Today was the first day of Totsuki High school, all the students were supposed to gather at the entrance place for the entrance ceremony.

As I got ready and started walking towards the designated area, I saw a lot of unique students, some looked excited, nervous, confident, and relieved. I finally arrived at the entrance ceremony and because I don't like crowds, I made my way to the back of the audience.

The Entrance ceremony started and the headmaster of Totsuki Senzaemon Nakiri started of by welcoming the students and going over some rules. Then the famous renowned Erina Nakiri or also known as the, 'God Tongue.' walked on to the stage and said a few things about things worked at Totsuki... Then this spiky-red haired guy named Soma walked on stage and basically announced that he was the best which got him A LOT of negative comments from the crowd.

I am going to have to avoid Soma... I can tell he is gonna attract a lot of attention, and I just want my life at Totsuki High school to be peaceful. They also explained these duels called Shokugeki which lets you challenge other chefs with certain parameters.

After the entrance ceremony, I went towards the apartments where the students live in. I arrived quickly and opened the door... I noticed that the room was eight tatami mats wide. Overall this room looks like a room for an above average family's room... As expected of the elite Culinary School Totsuki!

I was really excited... I had a great room and I am going to famous and renowned Totsuki high school. Right now Im pretty tired so I unpacked and quickly went to sleep.

(The next day...)

I woke up early and got ready... I was especially excited because today was my first Cooking class of Totsuki High school! After I got ready I made my way to the class and I noticed I arrived early so I just waited for a bit until everyone got here.

When all the students arrived, the teacher finally started the class, I noticed everyone was sending death glares at this red-haired guy... Oh wait, that's the famous arrogant Soma.... Do I have to be in the same class as him... Who cares, its not like I can do anything about it anyway.

The teacher was explaining today's task which was to work with a partner to make... Boeuf Bourguingnon... I could see a blue-haired girl nervously tracing something on her hand...? Probably because she was paired up with Soma... I don't have anything against Soma, I just don't want to be pulled into the chaos he creates.

My partner discussed on how we were gonna make the Boeuf Bourguingnon. He arrogantly said, "Im probably a better cook than you, so I'll be chef and you will be Sous chef." I just agreed because I was too lazy to refute.

after a while we finished a meal and presented it to the teacher. He tasted it and gave us an A, without any change in his expression... As expected of the chef who never smiles... The boy who I was paired with arrogantly laughed and exited out of the room. I also went out of the room since we passed and headed for my dorm.

I quickly arrived at my room and went to lay down for a little bit... I then got up and made my food... after eating a good meal I finally went to sleep.

I kept having this weird dream, where I was in front of a big door. I tried opening it but it did not budge... But today was different as soon as I touched the door it opened slowly... I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited to find out what was on the other side of the door.

As I walked enthusiastically towards the slowly opening door, I was encompassed by a bright white light, and what happened next shocked me... After I finally opened the door there was another door!? But this door was different this door looked more taller and had a red color to it whereas the last door had a black color to it... But then something unexpected happened.

I jolted up... Completely breaking the strange dream I was in, I was covered in sweat and felt really weird... The clock displayed 5:30 A.M. I sighed and thought, 'This has never happened before, so why does it happen now of all times...?

I took a very very long shower and eat breakfast and made my way to class...

(Time-skip)

The past day's were fun, I learned about a lot of different recipes and food... But ever since that weird dream where the door opened. I've been feeling weird...I can't quite put my finger on it... But for some reason I've been feeling more focused nowadays.

Well... Since I have nothing to do, might as well roam the campus hoping to find something interesting... Even me who is lazy as hell, wants at least some amusement... I quickly changed and went out hoping to find something interesting.

As I was walking I noticed a huge crowd near the Shokugeki arena? I know Shokugeki's were popular but this crowd is especially huge... As I made my way to the Shokugeki area and entered... I was dumbfounded... There I saw Soma going against the 'Meat queen' Ikumi Mito... And the theme was meat... Does he have some screws loose in his head or something... Challenging the 'Meat Queen' To a Meat Shokugeki and the bet said if he loses he gets expelled!?

I sighed and thought, 'who cares... I don't care what happens to him... I just wished to find something interesting and looks like my wish was granted!'

I quickly found a seat and sat down and began to watch the Shokugeki match... After a while... Everyone just screamed due to Erina Nakiri walking in to spectate this Shokugeki... Wow looks like this Shokugeki is really popular... Whatever who cares, as long as I get something to ease my boredom I'm happy... Once the Shokugeki Began... Ikumi and Soma went to their kitchens and started to prepare their dish.

A/N: If you want to watch the whole match... Watch Food wars Season 1, Episode 7.

The first one to serve is... Ikumi Mito... Anyways looks like she made a Roti Dona which earned various praises from the judges... The next was Soma with his dish... The judges thought It would not be able to match up to Ikumi's but when they started eating they could not stop... After that unexpected event, the judges discussed who the winner should be and the results were.

Ikumi: 0 votes

The Crowd went wild and was very surprised,

I was surprised for a moment, but quickly regained my composure because I had never seen Soma cook, so I shouldn't be so quick to judge. But still he beat Ikumi at Meat. That's a very awesome achievement!

After the match ended. I left and went to my room to lay down, 'What an interesting day I thought to myself losing my self in sleep... forgetting to even eat.

In my dreams, I saw that red colored door which was unlocked after unlocking the first door. I tried opening it, but it didn't budge... After a while I just gave up, not before thinking, 'Oh, tomorrow... That's the when the Hellish training camp starts.'

(Time-skip)

After a long drive I finally arrived at the Training camp and made my way to the designated area where all the new high-school students were supposed to gather... After a while a teacher finally came and gave us a brief summary of this training camp. I was really nervous... I mean the way he explained it was very scary and even if we made the slightest mistake we would be doomed.

'No, I can't lose myself to nervousness... I'll just cook like how I always do and see what happens from there.'

After he finished his explanation. He told us that the Totsuki Alumni will be evaluating our tasks... The crowd went into a huge uproar... It's not every day you see the Totsuki Alumni.

Just then a pink-haired guy with glasses suddenly said, "You over there you're expelled your citrus smelling hair can mess up with the aroma of the food, so get going."

I mean he is not wrong the smell will definitely interfere with the aroma... I kinda feel bad for him though... There was a bald guy with a fierce aura, now that I think about it, isn't that Dojima Gin?

After that guy got expelled and went home, Dojima Gin introduced himself as the owner of this hotel and explained a lot of things about this training camp and sent us on our way.

This first class I had was Shinomiya-Sensei's class where we had to make a cabbage roll.

I noticed that there were some rotten cabbages so I quickly ran over to take a good cabbage... After a while I finally finished preparing my dish and went over to present it to Shinomiya-Sensei. He took a bite of it and his expression changed slightly but then went back to normal... Not before he said, "Pass!"

'That was easier than I thought... I feel super focused when I'm cooking for some reason...? I'll have to find out more but I'm not complaining! Since I passed Shinomiya-Sensei's task I took a break, and when I was supposed to go to Inui-Sensei's Class... On my way there I saw the famous red-haired Soma arguing with a blonde-haired student, I think his name was Takumi... Once everyone arrived at Inui-Sensei's class where we had to make a Japanese dish using the environment... I finished and passed with relative ease.

Ever since that weird dream where that black door opened... I've been feeling really weird... In a good way, like I can focus a lot more when i'm cooking.

After I passed Inui-Sensei's Challenge I went to my room... Waiting for the next announcement... Whether it was a challenge or not.

After a while of waiting something finally happened, "We were all supposed to head to to room 5-B... After everyone arrived at the designated area. One of the Totsuki chef Alumni... Sekimori-Sensei explained what we were supposed to be doing, "All of you here will be cooking 50 servings each for the Upper Arm University's Bodybuilding Club and The Football and Wrestling Clubs, You have to prepare a Steak dinner... To summarize each chef will need to make 50 steak servings each... Happy Cooking!"

After Sekimori-Sensei finished explaining. An Orange-haired girl exclaimed, "Sekimori-Sensei what about our Dinner!?"

Sekimori-Sensei answered her question delivering shocking news to the crowd, "After you are done with the 50 servings... You can cook your own meal. Oh I almost forgot you need to complete 50 servings in a hours time, If you fail to meet the requirements you will be expelled.

After hearing Sekimori-Sensei explain this. I quickly went to prepare everything and started cooking... But then something happened... Time slowed down and my vision blacked out... I was standing next to the opened black door... I contemplated for a while but then decided to go inside the door and I was encompassed by a black light... After that happened... My vision was slowly regained and what surprised me was that everyone was moving very slow. But I quickly composed myself... There was black lightning coming out of my eyes... And I felt focused.

A/N: Only Takagi can see the black lightning coming out of his eyes, no one else can see it.

As I started cooking everything started to come together... The food seemed to tell me what to do. I was extremely focused nothing else could bother me I was completely lost in my cooking giving it 100 % of focus and before I knew it I was finished.

Sekimori-Sensei was super slack-jawed and dumbfounded but he quickly regained composure and announced, "Takagi Ito, 50 servings complete."

(General POV)

The other chefs were dumbfounded... Even Soma and Takumi stopped what they were doing... And Stared at Takagi dumbfounded.

"Its only been 30 seconds how do you complete 50 servings in 30 seconds!?" A random chef exclaimed."

(Takagi POV)

Even I was lost, I was fully focused and before it was said and done I finished... That door allowed me to go into full focus mode... That's awesome!

Also it's kind of funny seeing everyone dumbfounded.

(Soma POV And Takumi POV)

H-H-How Does he finish 50 servings in 30 seconds

(Takagi POV)

Since I was done and had nothing to do, I decided to take a nice hot quick shower, then hit the hay!

As I was walking to the bath, I thought about my life in the future... I mean I did say I wanted a peaceful life, but I had my peaceful life in Totsuki middle-school, In Totsuki High-school I want it to be more exciting.

I finally reached the bath and took off my clothes and since no one was here I jumped into the bath!

I only bathed for a couple minutes because I wanted, to do some exploring around this hotel... The hotel was very luxurious, I saw a lot of fancy-schmancy things. After I felt like I seen enough... I went back to my room to sleep for a little... I tried to open the Red Door, what surprised me was that it move a little bit... Since I didn't think it would budge in the slightest...

After a while, an announcement was made that woke me up, "All students please report to the challenge room at 10:00 P.M.

"Hmm, another challenge? At this time" I thought out loud... I took a shower and changed my clothes because I was sweaty due to that dream... And went to the designated area. After I arrived everyone was looking at Soma, I overheard a conversation... Seems like he challenge Shinomiya-Sensei... WHAT?! Is he dumb challenging a Totsuki alumni, but I do admire his decision to save his friend Megumi.

As I arrived Soma and Takumi noticed me and ran toward me. Wait... Why are they running toward me...? After they finally stopped running and arrived at my distance. I looked at them questionably hoping to find out why they came here but I quickly found my answer thanks to Takumi, "Hey you, What's your name and how did you complete 50 servings in 30 seconds." Then Soma asked, "Do want to become my friend?"

I was surprised at Takumi's Sudden question but answered nonetheless, "Hi, my name is Takagi Ito and Umm, I just cooked how I usually do and Soma I would love to become your friend!"

Soma just put his fist in the air while Takumi was surprised that Soma made me his friend... Takumi thought I seemed like a nice guy so he also asked me to be his friend which I accepted happily!

Soma introduced me to his friends which I came to quickly like and became friends with as they were an amusing bunch. Takumi introduced me to his brother which I quickly became friends with him because we shared the same interest.

As I was talking to Soma's Friends we were indirectly interrupted as the Erina Nakiri as everyone was staring at her, she just ignored the stares and went to find a seat.

after a while Dojima-Sensei Finally arrived and started to tell us are task, He said that our task will began tomorrow which got a lot of questions from the crowd as why he was telling us now? He ignored these comments and continued his explanation, he explained that we would make a new breakfast item based around eggs buffet style and we have to be ready 6:00 A.M tomorrow.

The whole crowd erupted at this statement, saying that Totsuki was trying to kill us or something. I lightly smiled at their funny antics... And Takumi was challenging Soma, on who will make the better breakfast.

I sighed and though about possible Dishes, 'This is gonna be troublesome, I wanted to sleep, but whatever.' And then it hit me, 'Oh! I'll make French toast, that's the perfect this for this challenge. Happy with the idea I decided, I went to test it out and it went nicely... After I was done testing I went back to my room, but not before checking in with Soma and his friends.

Soma and the others were still deciding on what they wanted to make, variously experimenting with different items.

After arriving at my room, I went to sleep and in my dream I was in front of the slightly-opened red door... I tried pushing it open but it only budged slightly. But then I was assaulted with a huge amount of pain. My whole body is shaking in pain. I wanted to pass out, but I kept my resolve and pushed my willpower to max... This went on for about 15 minutes, during this time I really felt like passing out but I still managed to stay awake.

Then Something unexpected happened. The red door, opened and I was encompassed by a bright red light... After that I jolted up breaking from my dreams and was covered in A lot of sweat.

Noticing how I was very sweaty, I decided to take a very long shower and change my clothes. I took a glance at the clock 5:30 A.M. I thought, 'Just in time, I should prepare my ingredients for my French Toast and went to the designated area for the challenge. There I saw Soma talking with Erina, Takumi preparing his ingredients and Megumi writing something on her hand...? I waved at them and went to my station which was at the very corner.

After that dream I also felt weird but this was different from when I opened the black door... It feels really weird but in a very good way!

I took out all my ingredients and waited for the challenge to begin. After some time of waiting. Dojima-Sensei Appeared on the screen and told us more bout the challenge, saying that the judges were the residents and staff staying at this hotel itself and we will have to serve at lest 200 dishes to pass and the Customers and the Staff must approve in the next two hours.

After saying this the crowd was surprised but quickly regained their composure and started to cook.

I took a deep breath and started to prepare these ingredients. as I was preparing I saw black and red lighting coming out of my eyes.

A/N: Again only our MC, Takagi can see the lighting coming out of his eyes, no one else can see.

(General POV)

A lot of the judges were going to Takumi, Megumi, Erina and Ikumi's kitchen.

(Takagi POV)

Now that I was done preparing the ingredients, I felt extremely focused like nothing could stop me completing this challenge.

as I finished prepared the first couple of French toasts, there aroma spread thought the room. It was a divine aroma that was never seen before. Everyone rushed over to my kitchen. To have a taste.

I kept on making the french toasts at blazing speed and before it was said and done...

Announcer: "Takagi Ito, 200 dishes complete."

Everyone stared dumbfoundedly at me, even Erina was no exception, after all I completed the challenge this early.

After hearing that announcement, I sighed in relief and relaxed my composure... But that announcement did not stop me from making more french toasts, and before it was said and done... I ran out of ingredients.

I sighed sheepishly and said, "Sorry guys, looks like I ran out of ingredients."

The customers were all sad, but I reminded them there were other chefs that needed to have their food tasted and they quickly regained their happiness and made their way to other dishes.

After that event, I sighed and thought, 'I know that my french toast was good, but I did not know it was gonna be this good... The only logical explanation is that it has something to do with that red door.'

After I finished cleaning up, I looked around and saw, Soma struggling... Dang I didn't think he would make souffles in a buffet.

After some time I heard a couple of announcements

Announcer: Erina Nakiri, 200 Dishes complete

Announcer: Alice Nakiri 200 Dishes complete

Announcer: Takumi Aldini: 200 Dishes complete

Announcer: Tadokoro Megumi: 200 Dishes complete

Announcer: ..... 200 Dishes complete

I looked over at Soma, hoping that he will find his way out of this tricky situation. To notice that he is doing fine... Heh, interesting, truly interesting, Soma is doing a live cooking show where he cooks in front of the audience.

The test was almost done when something happened...

After a while the Announcer finally said,

Announcer: Soma 200 Dishes complete

after that announcement the Test ended.

I sighed happily and thought, 'Soma, I knew you had it in you!'

After the announcement ending the test was over, Soma, Takumi, Megumi, Alice and Erina Came over to my station... Soma basically ran saying, "Dude Takagi, how did you complete the challenge so fast... Plus the aroma of your food spread thought the entire room!"

I smiled lightly due to Soma's funny antics, "Dunno, I just cooked like how I usually do, and you Soma I was surprised you made Souffles for a buffet... But in the end you managed to complete the challenge... You really are something Soma!"

"Takumi and Megumi your dishes were also very unique and looked very tasty and you managed to complete the Test really fast!" I said with enthusiasm.

Megumi smiled whereas Takumi said, "Not as fast as you though Takagi... You were the fastest in this room to complete 200 dishes... Worthy of being my rival... Haha from today I have two rivals; Soma and Takagi." Takumi said while laughing.

I smiled at his statement, 'Having rivals sounds like fun!'

"Alice and Erina Nakiri nice to meet you, You two also seemed like you had the competition in the bag... Going above and beyond completing this test with ease!" I said

Alice just smiled at my statement while Erina just 'hmphed' and walked away before saying, "Takagi Ito, today I hereby declare you as my rival." I just smiled at her cute antics.

Alice was also surprised for a moment but then also said before walking away, "I also declare you as my rival Takagi Ito."

I just sighed, what did I do to get so many rivals...?
