The Conversation

On a bright summer morning, a woman who appears to be in her late twenties wakes up to the sound of birds chirping outside her window. She stretches her arms and takes a deep breath, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. She slowly opens her eyes and glances around her bedroom, which is decorated in a chic minimalist style, with a clean white color palette and tasteful pieces of art on the walls. As she gets out of bed, she notices the sunlight filtering through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow throughout the room.

As she makes her way to her bathroom, she runs her fingers through her hair, feeling the softness and fullness of it. She turns on the shower, letting the warm water flow over her body as she begins her morning routine. After her shower, she wraps herself in a fluffy white towel and heads to her closet to choose her outfit for the day. She selects a simple yet sophisticated white blouse and a pair of tailored black pants, completing the look with a pair of heels.

As she applies her makeup, she takes a moment to study her reflection in the mirror, her green eyes sparkle, and her hair falls in loose waves around her shoulders. She takes a deep breath and heads out to her living room, where she opens the window facing the high-rise building. The morning breeze tousles her hair, as she takes in the view of the bustling city below.

She makes herself a cup of coffee, savoring the rich aroma as she heads to her balcony. She sits down on a comfortable chair, feeling the warmth of the sun on her skin and sipping her coffee as she takes in the view. As she finishes her coffee, she checks her phone, responding to a few messages and making a few calls.

Finally, she heads to her atelier, which is located in a sleek and modern space filled with bolts of fabric, sketches, and mannequins which is most likely her workplace. She immerses herself in her work, pouring over designs and making minute adjustments. Someone enters the door asking if she is prepared for the fashion show coming up next week. She is very immersed in her work that she hardly catches a few words.

It was her childhood friend, Naisargi. She came to deliver the materials and schedule of the show as she is also the manager of the fashion designer, Yashi.

She commented, "Though you look tired, your eyes sparkle whenever you work. You know this is going to be the first show since you made your label YB 7", pulling over her hand on her shoulders.

"Take a break, dear", she added handing her a cup of coffee.

"I still remember how passionate you were even when a kid" she said chuckingly.

The female fashion designer sat across from her best friend, sipping her coffee.

"You were always drawn to fashion, even back then. You used to make clothes for my dolls out of scraps of fabric I found lying around the house. I remember how much you loved playing with different textures and colors", Naisargi recounted from her memories.

"It was like a little escape from the mundanity of my life." Yashi replied.

Her friend laughed. "I remember that! You were always so creative, even back then. I used to be so envious of your talents, I was never really good at that kind of thing."

"Yeah, I always knew that I wanted to do something artistic. But I never really knew how to make it happen. Growing up in a small town where there weren't really any opportunities. There were no art classes at my school, and I didn't have any family members who were in the fashion industry. I felt like I was stuck in a place where I couldn't explore my true passion."

"But you didn't let that stop you," her friend interjected.

"No, it didn't," the designer agreed. "I knew I had to make my own opportunities. I saved up enough money to go to college for fashion design. It was tough, especially since it was in a big city, and I was homesick and alone a lot of the time", Yashi became emotional saying last few words.

"After graduation, you got a job working for a fashion house, and even became a lead designer", Naisargi said taking a bite of her favourite candy lying on the table. "And now you have your own label. It was all worth it" she added.

Yashi, putting down her mug and taking over her journal to make few adjustments in the design said, "Yeah, after a few years, I realized that I was not able to truly express myself while working for someone else. I wanted to have my own voice and my own vision. So, I decided to start my own label, and begun creating my own collections."

Naisargi taking out the materials she brought and handing over the schedule to Yashi with a sudden lit on her face said in a friendly tone "Exactly! And a chance for me to be your manager, Miss Yashi."

"This is the schedule and these are the materials" she added, her face still lit and radiant showing her happiness for her friend and work partner.
