Chapter 6

Melony didn't have too many tasks to do before lunch, just passing around papers and bringing coffee to a few people. Once 1:30 finally came, she rushed down to the basement and opened the door, hoping Meruem was still there. When she walked in, she didn't see him and assumed that he had something else to do.

She was about to sit down and start waiting for him, when the ANGEL suddenly booted up and Meruem's features were looking down at her. She stood shocked for a few moments, just staring at it. A laugh broke her out of her trance when the ANGEL started giggling at her, Melony realized that it was actually Meruem that was laughing at her.

"Like it?" Meruem's voice said through the machine.

"That-that's incredible! How is that even possible, that's so cool!" She was bouncing up and down.

He laughed at her again, Melony was completely fangirling over Meruem.

Just as soon as it came, the once smiling face was replaced with a blank screen and Meruem walked out.

"That is so cool! Can you see out of it like that? Do you feel the things that it feels?"

"Yeah, I can feel and see, how else am I supposed to work it?" He laughed.

"What's its name?"

"Name? It's an ANGEL, it doesn't have a name."

"Well then I'm giving it a name!"

"You really don't have to, it just a-"

"Orion! I like that name, it means 'great hunter'. I like it because it hunts down MINELS, so it fits."

"Yeah. . . I guess so."

They talked for a little while longer, enjoying themselves. Melony continued to ask about Meruem and the ANGELS, which was their main conversation point.

They talked for the entirety of the lunch period, both forgetting to eat lunch while they were talking.

"I've got to go, do you have any other breaks so we can keep talking?" She asked.

"I told you, I'm free all the time, let me help you around." He said

"Really? I thought that pilots are constantly training?"

"No, -well, yes. I'm just exempt from that."

"Awesome!"

Meruem helped Melony for the rest of the day, the rest of the interns were treating her much better after seeing Meruem.

"I don't know why, but it seems like all of the interns hate me." She said while carrying some more papers.

"Oh those that came with you aren't interns, they're the children of the researchers and possible pilots. That's why they're all arrogant with you, they think you're below them." He told her. He was also carrying papers.

"Dang . . . I hope none of them get in for being so mean to others."

"Don't worry, they won't."

The rest of the day went smoothly with no more paper dropping. They had dinner with each other and then finally departed to go to sleep.

Back in her room, Melony was very happy at the thought of Meruem, she had made a new friend who was twice as cool as she had initially thought.

Happy and feeling proud of herself, she drifted off to sleep, hopeful about the next day.

In the middle of the night Meruem was walking on the top floor, meant for the highest officers in HEAVEN. He walked towards the room that said "Eden", the two guards there nervously let him in. The room was large and had many papers and other desks facing the main one that was slightly raised. In the back wall was instead a window where you could see other ANGELS. There was a man sitting at the desk and looked up, slightly surprised that he had a guest.

"To what do I owe the pleasure, 108?" The man said.

". . . That is no longer my name." Meruem said coldly.

"Oh?" The man said surprised, "Then what is your new name, 108?"

"I am Meruem."

"Meruem. . . that doesn't fit you."

"Yes it does, and I didn't come here to chat."

"I assumed as much."

"There are new pilots that are here for training, yes?"

"Yes, why?"

"Get rid of all of them."

The man was surprised at Meruem's request, but he scoffed and looked at him.

"Alright, but I'll need a favor."

"Fine, what is it?"

"Introduce me to that little friend of yours will you?"

"Absolutely not."

The man laughed and sighed but ultimately gave up.

"What a shame, I was hoping to meet my future daughter in law."

He laughed and Meruem got upset and blushed before walking out as quickly as possible.
