Chapter 11

"Melony." Meruem said.

"Meruem." She said back.

The hallway fell silent once again, no one knew who Melony was, nor did they know what she was doing. Everyone thought that the girl was asking for death, touching the same boy who broke a grown man's arm without care.

Meruem stood still and silent, waiting for Melony's hands to let go of him, but she didn't. He eventually took a few deep breaths, calming himself before Mel took her hands off.

"Better?" She asked

"Better." He said back.

"Good. I'm hungry, I just vomited out my entire breakfast and lunch, so let's grab something from the mess hall." She started to walk away from the scene and Meruem soon follow suit.

". . . The mess hall isn't good, so let's go outside and buy something."

"Can we go outside?"

"Of course, especially when the food here tastes so bad, not even a MINEL would eat it."

"Haha! It's not so bad, but I won't say no to getting something different!"

Melony turned around to the Principal and the rest of the guards, giving them a thumbs up before walking away.

Everyone else stood shocked and grateful, they got to live another day without losing an arm in the process.

Meruem led Melony to an area where they could get someone to drive them. They practically had their own chauffeur to take them to the nearby city. They had about an hour before they had to go back.

"I am craving something savory, maybe a burger, or some sushi, or some steak. We have to get dessert too, like some ice cream, or boba, or cake. What about you Meruem? What do you want?"

"I'm good with anything, and can I talk to you real quick?"

"Yeah sure, what about?"

"I'm sorry for what you had to see back there, I wasn't myself. It's ok if you're a little scared of me now, I get it."

"Dude, I literally don't care about what happened back there, the man deserved it anyway. He shouldn't have tried to fight you like that. I just didn't want you to have a murder charge on your hands."

"Thanks"

"No problem, now let's get something to eat! Decide quickly, we only have an hour."

"A steak would sound nice."

"That's what I thought! Let's go!" Melony went running down the street to the nearest restaurant. Meruem smiled while looking at Melony, happy that someone didn't care about what he did.

They had a fulfilling steak dinner and Melody got some ice cream afterward, Meruem didn't like sweets, which led to an intense argument.

"Ok, I get ice cream because of people's teeth, but not even chocolate? What about lollipops?"

"The stick gets too soggy if you have it in your mouth for a prolonged period of time, plus what if you need to save it for later? They get all sticky and weird, plus the flavors are bad."

"Why would you ever save a lollipop for later? What about cookies or cakes?"

"I don't like cookies because if they are too crunchy, the crumbs get everywhere. Too soft, and the inside tastes under-cooked. Cakes are too dry and have either too much frosting, or the frosting tastes like straight sugar."

"Oh dear lord, what about gummies? Or boba, mochi, taffy?"

"Gummies are made out of pig bones for your information. If we're talking about the boba inside of milk tea, then that is a drink. Mochi made me almost choke to death once, and taffy gets stuck in your teeth."

"You can't be serious, is there really nothing that you like? Seriously? You know what, I don't care if we're late, I'm going to find something you like."

"Alright, we still have a good amount of time left."

They went from store to store, trying to find something that Meruem would like. Melony almost gave up, when she saw a little stand run by an old lady.

"Excuse me ma'am, but do you sell sweets?" Melony said respectfully.

"Yes, although I ran out, I still have some taiyaki left." The old lady said.

"You haven't tried that, right Meruem?"

"No, I haven't, what is Taiyaki?" He asked

"It's like a cake, but fish-shaped. You could get it filled with some custard or red bean paste." She said,

"I only have red bean paste left, would that be fine little ones?"

"Yes, ma'am. Thank you!" Paying the kind lady and leaving, the fresh and warm taiyaki looked delicious.

"Go on, try it!" Melony said eagerly.

Meruem bit into the soft cake, and his eyes lit up with joy.

"This is amazing, it's not too sweet, the cake is fluffy and soft, and the filling is really good! Where has this been all my life!" Melony tried to get a bite, but he pulled away from her and began to savagely eat the treat. They both fought for the cake, running down the street, and laughing as if they were children.

What a cute way to end the day, getting dinner, eating some sweets, and breaking a man's arm. A perfect day in my book!
