Who's Your Crush?

I felt myself being picked up, I was fading in and out of consciousness. I squint at Mateo who was lifting me as he took me up the stairs. My eyes were struggling so much to stay open, I had no idea why I was this tired.

"Mateo, it's okay...I can walk." I whisper as I slowly struggle against the sleep that was trying to engulf me. Mateo looked surprised that I had awoken. He cleared his throat as he adjusted his grip on me.

I laugh, "Did I scare you?". I say groggily as I pry my eyes open.

"A little, I thought you were asleep" He says as we enter a room. It was painted a navy blue with multiple rock band posters. I assumed it was Mateo's.

Mateo lays me onto the bed and seems a little flustered. His cheeks red and his hands fidgety, he rubs his hands on his pants as if he's drying the sweat. My eyes aren't fighting against me anymore so I sit up and lay my back on the headboard. Mateo looked a lot more nervous than I was in the beginning.
