Chapter 28

I am currently in the depths of Cocytus standing in front of a large ominous creature with bizarre features such as the upper body of a Fallen Angel (albeit with fangs in his mouth) and the lower body of an Asian Dragon.

This is Samael, the Angel that tempted Adam and Eve to eat the apple of knowledge in DxD. He was later cursed by God, he is also known as Evil Intention of God. His poison is strong enough to affect the likes of Ophis and Great Red.

This means he is a threat to my wife and daughter! To be honest, I forgot about him due to my hectic life, but Clairvoyance warned me about it.

I guess some people are starting to plot after me once they learned about my child. At first, I thought it was Indra but it was Shiva, turns out he got offended by EA, he is on my kill list now. Well, I'll handle him later but first I need to deal with Samael.

Currently, Samael is crucified on a large cross with nails driven into various parts of his body as well as several other restraints that had ancient letters written on them. I recorded those letters since I didn't see them before. It is a nicely done sealing magic.

His eyes were also covered with a blindfold that had tears of blood dripping from underneath it.

"Sorry Samael, I have nothing against you but I can't allow you to live. Also even if I heal you, I doubt you'd want to keep on living either."

I open a portal to the nothingness of the void. He isn't strong enough to endure its encroachment, with that Samael disappears.

I stare at the Void I opened for a while with furrowed brows, someone plotting against me means there might be more in the future. I have an idea, a crazy one but it would ensure my family's safety if it works as I hope.

I let out some Origin Energy and scoop up a ball of nothing with it. Encasing it with a special glass I make a marble with nothing in it. Of course, the glass isn't resistant to 'nothing' but I am supplying Origin Energy to resist.

With that done I put that marble in my soul. I need to bind my soul to it before going forward with my plan.

..

(Hero Faction Interlude.)

The leader of the Hero Faction Cao Cao is not having a good time, he is pissed. No calling it pissed would be an understatement.

He is trying to save humanity but a human is denying him of this chance. First, he disregarded them. Now they can't even talk with him due to his protection magic.

Georg's teleportations always get redirected, last time they ended up in a public orgy, he had to knock some members out since they wanted to join in, poor Leonardo got scarred for life.

"Georg, any news on Merlin?"

"Cao Cao, I think you should give up on him."

"Look at what he achieved in two years after he ditched the church. How can I ignore him! If he isn't on our side then we can't win this."

"He can't be that important..." Hercules mutters mostly to himself.

That is the reaction of the other core members, sure he has achievements under his belt but they're hero descendants as well.

Cao Cao gives them a blank look, he doesn't want to get obsessive over one man neither but his gut feeling doesn't let him move on. He inherited his ancestor's eye for talent, he can see how dangerous that monster of a man could be. Even the True Longinus trembles whenever Merlin's name comes up.

Just he was about to speak, someone teleports in their base, once the flash of magic dies down the person is revealed to be Sun Wukong, Vanguard of Indra.

"Cao Cao, you look like shit." Sun Wukong chuckles.

"Did you just come to laugh at me?"

"Unfortunately no. Indra wants to see you. I am here to escort you to Mount Meru." Hearing him Cao Cao's back straightens.

Indra might have a solution to this dilemma, once Merlin is on their side or out of the picture he can go back to his genocide without this constant fear of death.

..

"You should just give up." Indra bluntly says as he takes a sip from his drink. Indra looks normal but if one is perceptive enough they would notice a slight shake on his hands.

"What!?" Cao Cao is dumbfounded.

Indra, one of the strongest Gods of the Hindu Faction is telling him to give up. Cao Cao was expecting him to give him special weapons or something like that to handle Merlin but this is unexpected.

"What do you mean 'What!?' There's no killing that monster! He somehow avoided my foresight and now. I doubt we can kill him without taking the world down with him." Indra takes another sip from his drink to calm down. "He might even survive afterward!"

"Forgive me, Lord Indra, but how strong is he? I thought he was around Satan class since he keeps juggling between three factions." Cao Cao is confused, Merlin maybe had two years on his own, even his estimation is generous.

No one can gauge his power for some reason but everyone guesses Satan Class at best.

Indra lowers his sunglasses revealing his bloodshot eyes. "He is playing with them. By the time he released that magic system he was already strong as that stupid Red Dragon." Indra states shocking Cao Cao.

"How strong is he now?" Cao Cao asks with a little bit of fear in his voice.

"He is the strongest and he has better foresight than I and Shiva. So, there's no defeating him." Indra rubs his eyes, he overused his foresight in hopes of finding a way out.

"Just the other day Shiva thought about using Samael to threaten his family, and now Samael is no more." Indra smiles thinking about his enemy shooting himself in the foot.

Both he and Shiva sensed the weapon Vivian forged for him, Shiva being a God of Destruction naturally took offense at the existence of such a weapon while saying "It is not a proper way of destruction."

Indra on the other hand didn't care, he had long given up thinking about the world at that time. Now, Shiva fucked up and his death is sealed, but he remains.

Indra sometimes checks his foresight but there are only two paths in front of him, one where he leaves Merlin alone and where he goes against him.

The first one is where he gets to live, the second route only shows a blank background with a Japanese character for 'Death'.

"So, what do you hope me to do Lord Indra?" Cao Cao sighs.

"I don't care. Just don't cross Merlin." Indra states.

"But..."

"But what!? Are you still on that genocide deal!? Are you stupid!?" Indra roars, he just told this guy even he can't beat Merlin.

"But humanity..."

"Fuck humanity! Was humanity there when Sun Wukong took care of you? When you lived on the streets?" Indra asks making Cao Cao flinch.

"No! Even your parents sold you to people for money. Now you're here talking how you're going to kill every supernatural race to see the human limits." Indra spits on Cao Cao's face.

"I tolerated your behavior before because you had some use to me, now that I am involuntarily-retired I don't need you." Indra coldly states.

"Then what should I do Lord Indra?" Cao Cao's voice is broken he is barely keeping himself together. He would have stayed on the streets if Sun Wukong and Indra hadn't take care of him then get killed or worse enslaved, now he is about to lose that support.

"Just stop with kill all supernaturals deal. If you're going to kill something, go hunt vampires or something, no one likes them anyway. Also, leave Khaos Brigade as well, Ophis works for Merlin at this point. That organization won't live long."

Cao Cao bows and goes back to his people to tell them how they should give up on Merlin. He doesn't talk about how strong he is though that would be a major blow to their pride and might shake his role as the leader.

Anyhow, on this day Hero Faction split off from Khaos Brigade, becoming a pseudo police force protecting newly awakened Sacred Gear users, sheltering them. At least until they acclimate to the supernatural world.
