This is another original work that suprises me. Suprise in a sense of how detailed the potrayal of the characters were in the story as well as the world background this author uses. From the first chapter, the author has transformed me into Jun Hua's world and I couldn't believe that I've read through the whole chapters presented. It's truly a gem and I can't wait to read the next chapters and how the story will progress. Great work author/translator. Keep up the great job! Will be rooting for you from now on. đđ
The mundane life of a teenage girl in an ancient chinese-like aristocracy. Nothing really happens and the MC is just going to school plotting some slow paced revenge. She's also quite unliakable and takes offense by anyone while playing shy. Mundane activities are really descriptive while things that would be thrilling are just said in one line. For example: instead of reading some chapters about HOW she managed to take a small kingdom in 1 month, we just read "She took the kingdom down in 1 month" and that's it. Instead we get several chapters of school days about painting, embroidery, math and etiquete and teenage bantering. If the author is just skimming through parts like wars and fights why even put them in the first place? Just make a full soap opera like revenge/faceslapping tale without action. As long as it's interesting, battles don't matter. Alas, for the chapters I pushed myself to read, it wasn't interesting. Gotta say this is overrated.
This is my third and final review as the story has concluded and I have to say that I enjoyed every single chapter and the complete journey. This is a story worth reading it breaks the mold in defining balance in male and female characters who flawed are still likeable for the most part and have no hesitancy recommending it to anyone who wants that. Apart from the balance what I appreciate is the true sincerity and respect that came out of MCs towards their other half especially when it comes to their dreams/wishes. There was no typical obsession, possession, over the top arrogance crap especially from the ML which to some can be a turn on but largely is a turn off. What one felt with the couples were a loving and true relationship so you cannot help but want them together but for those without someone in real life want it in their own lives as well though this is fiction. It was fun waiting until 7:00 am EST anticipating the next chapter which came like clockwork. When I wanted to comment our favorite first comment stealer caitlin was there. My only issue with this novel is that its unappreciated in the rankings. This story is straight up quality and I encourage you to read every chapter as its never boring. Its a happy but sad departure, this novel will now leave my library. Take care of yourself Sorahana and I wish you all the best for your future you deserve it.
Wow I just started reading this today & its really good. I am surprised how Jun Min & Jun Hua are so likeable as 2 different characters as one person. The story is fast paced. It's well written with some grammar issues but not bad enough to distract from the story. Sometimes the author gives us a bit of confusion with mysterious conversations but it gets cleared up later on. However why does the author keep mentioning that the MC is really beautiful even when she wear a veil. The public hasn't seen her face without the veil but they all assumed she is beautiful. Also I am assuming the ML is Shouji who has sharp eyes and can tell a guy dressing as a girl but not the reverse ? Hmmm.....what with that problem? Still it's a great story can't wait for some romance to happen.
This is a fun series that acts like a western series taking place in a place like historical China. Although many historical Chinese series have themes like severe ***ism, women having no value aside from their appearances, relentless overbearing revenge, and rape becoming romance, this series has none of those and instead takes values that readers in English-speaking countries may be more likely to agree with. Although this is in a culture where women have limited rights, several female characters in this series stand up for themselves and overcome those norms. The MC is a general, another woman is a soldier who dreams of becoming a general, one is a empress leading her country, and yet another is a skilled and cunning information broker. Although I like Chinese series, this is the kind of series I would prefer to read. The characters are all fantastic, and several of them show depth, even if they're villains. It's great to see how they all grow and develop. The story development is excellent, and the plot really picks up after the second volume. Although some parts of this series are slow, it's doesn't drag things on. It would be nice if more description could be given for each of the various countries involved. They all just give the impression that they are each like each other and have the same government system and cultures without any distinctive features. The writing appears to be from someone who isn't a native English-speaker, and parts of it don't make sense. However, the edited chapters are much more coherent and easier to follow. That said, I still used a lot of spirit stones to catch up and would recommend this series for anyone liking a light, entertaining read.
I have to say it simply since I canât write a super long review so Iâll keep it short. This was amazing. Donât judge the book from just reading the first few chapters. It isnât basic. It has a refreshing plot and characters. Her writing greatly improves over the course of the book, so donât be so harsh during the very first chapters. Her writing never deteriorated and only kept improving! The character development is amazing and it she actually tells many stories of many people in this one novel. That is what I like. She focuses and building every character. She writes of beautiful values and morals too. It makes me respect her as more than just a writer but a person. The story really has a a great plot. It isnât as simple as youâd guess by reading only the start. You have to read the whole thing to be able to know whatâll happen. Itâs the type of plot that keeps you guessing. In no way is this like any other historical novel. Itâs wonderful and new. Like a breath of fresh air. I loved reading this and Iâve reread it at least four times! I really recommend it.
English needs to be improved. It's the only thing that's keeping me from giving this story a perfect score. Characters are well fleshed out. It's easy to fall in love with the protagonist Jun Hua, whether as herself or her male alter-ego, Jun Min. Reading is like watching bishounen anime, with a full dose of heroic beautiful men. Lots of action, intrigue, humor, and romance. Thankfully the writing has enough flow and sense, despite the poor grammar, to be understood. The plot itself is worth plodding through the grammar bombs. I hope Author Sorahana will find an editor to polish this novel, as it has great potential.
The writing quality is okay but some sentences do not use the proper grammar so if someone insists on reading a novel that has no errors whatsoever in writing, they wouldnât read this. But overall, the story is great and itâs even an original novel! Not translated for once! The writing adds a little blemishes to the review but itâs still one of my favorite stories!
I thought I was reading a chinese novel.. meaning this is par with other historical c-novels! I really love your story and how characters interact with each other, do you perhaps have published works? Like a hardcopy? Cause you wrote too good. And I donât always write reviews not unless I read it on the spot and finished it in one go đ but whyyyyy u donât have gifts corner? I want to gift u balloons like many many balloons lol sorry donât have much ss but I can still afford balloons so whereâs that corner I thought all original novels have it đđđ but really I love ya so much â¤ď¸ thanks for letting us read this wonderful story đ
I really loved reading this story, it had really impressed me in how well it has done, that's really interestingly great to read and every chapter is a guarantees it was good, that's even better than some translation novel you have read and I made a poem for dear Jun Hua. For Dearest Beloved Jun Hua Lonely beautiful Amaryllis flower that should not be shown, Born under unlucky fate of star, Disguised to be different so it could survive, Death of a beloved and became Daffodil, Oh, dear Daffodil became a lovely Heather flower. Genius of opposite, Talent that shines brighter than anyone but could not be shown, Charisma shining brightly of a brilliant person who was born to lead others, Dance of a flower, Bloom of flower which became blossom the moment it step in where life can be taken any moment, Called battlefield and the dance of a flower, Mesmerized by all around her. With growing flame within her heart, Calming than the tree within her mind, Unyielding will within herself, Braver than any man, Clever and cunning in a way that surprises by all, Will she survived until the end? Or.. will she failed to reach the destiny she wanted to come true? What every it's and never matter, She will not give it up and face the challenges for what fate has stores for her. (A little bit details to let you understand my poem. Amaryllis This flower is symbolic of splendid beauty. It is also used to indicate worth beyond beauty Heather Lavender symbolizes admiration, solitude and beauty while white heather symbolizes protection and indicates that wishes will come true. Daffodil symbolizes regard and chivalry. It is indicative of rebirth, new beginnings and eternal life. It also symbolizes unrequited love. A single daffodil foretells a misfortune while a bunch of daffodils indicate joy and happiness The first stanza show about her situations, the second stanza show about her as Jun Min at battlefield and the third stanza show about herself) I hope my poem could inspired you to read it and I guarantees you, it will not disappointed you and really interesting. I'm sorry, English isn't my first language...
