Florida Man in Magus World: Unleashing Liberty and Freedom

"When in doubt, UP, RIGHT, DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!" - John Helldiver Felix Ariel, a typical Floridian, found himself transported to a mysterious kingdom in another world. However, a misunderstanding led to Felix accidentally killing the king, resulting in his untimely demise. Following this tragic event, Felix's spirit encountered a mysterious being who identified as Felix's ancestor. This entity claimed that Felix had been cursed by an unknown individual. For Felix's safety, the ancestor bestowed upon him a system for self-defense. Upon returning to Earth, Felix realized that he would be transmigrated to the alternate world at noon due to the lingering curse. To prepare for this unexpected transmigration, Felix relied on the system, which required him to gather oil and gold to enhance his abilities. Thus began Felix's quest in the other world. With his system, he brought firearms and an ambition to spread liberty... for prosperity and freedom. ... Author's note: I got burnt out after I tried writing a serious action-packed story. I guess I'll return to what I write best, a stupid comedic novel. Again, this is a satire story. Expect memes and stereotypes. Don't take anything seriously. Lastly, this story took place after Florida Man's General Store in Cultivation World. The MC is Leo's descendant. You don't need to read the previous novel to understand this story, but those who read it will get to enjoy some easter eggs.

Florida Man Transported to Magus World the Second Time and Failed the First IQ Test

Chapter 5 - Florida Man Transported to Magus World the Second Time and Failed the First IQ Test

Noon

Felix lay on his back without a blanket, snoring with his belly button exposed. In the midst of his REM sleep, his manhood stood straight. A magic circle manifested under his worn-out bed, and both he and the bed vanished from this world.

---

Bright sunlight shone through Felix's eyelids, waking him from his slumber. The summer heat radiating from the stone road jolted him to his feet.

"OW! WHAT THE HELL?!" Felix exclaimed, rubbing his back, which had slightly burnt from the heated stone road. He squinted, trying to adjust to the bright sunlight.

Standing in the middle of a desolate stone road, Felix rubbed his eyes and scanned his surroundings. Realizing he was in a new environment, he asked, "What time is it?"

*DING*

<It's 12:58 PM.>

"...Huh?"

Almost an hour past the deadline, Felix realized he had transmigrated into another world as promised. Stretching his arms, he glanced at Jessica's floating avatar screen.

"So," Felix began, "I haven't asked my ancestor and you yet. Why did I have to transmigrate to this... new world?"

<It happened because of a side effect curse created by an almighty entity. Although your ancestor removed that troublemaker, fragment his still lingers in soul. After this transmigration, the is weakened tenth.>

"A tenth? Hasn't it been removed?"

<You have two choices - First, you need to reincarnate nine more times completely remove the curse. Or second, remain on this planet for at least a hundred years weaken it enough return Earth.>

"..."

<Anyway, I've scanned this planet. As we discussed, its technological advancement level is on par with Earth's post-medieval period, but they excel in sorcery and magic. This planet also brimming mana energy, which can be beneficial to you.>

<And thus, the main quest has been unlocked. Please check it.>

Felix was enlightened. He opened the quest menu and checked the main quest and the daily quest.

---

Main Quest #1

You have arrived in a new world. As a stranger in a potentially hostile world, it is imperative that you establish a base of operations first. Once a base has been set, you will gain more room and time to plan your next actions.

Mission: Build a shelter.

Reward: Super Democracy Pass - Class F

---

The daily quests had already reset, and Felix could redo them. As for the main quest, it troubled him since he had never built a house or shelter alone before.

"What kind of shelter do I have to build?" Felix asked.

<Any kind. You can make a survival tent with branches and tree leaves, or you become an overachiever by building steel fortress. As long as it is decent enough to provide roof for sleep under overnight, the mission will be completed.>

"Oh, nice."

Felix rubbed his hands together and scanned his surroundings for building materials.

To the north, the stone road continued to a large town on the horizon. There was nothing but wheat fields, tall white city walls, and a long straight road.

To the east and west, a field full of tree stumps stretched out. The traces of deforestation were still fresh, with tree logs and workers chopping wood and transporting resources to the nearby lumber mill facilities.

To the south, the area was still full of dense forest, but the trees were strangely dark. Purple fog exuded from the area, giving an ominous feeling. Even the lumberjacks working nearby avoided it.

"Hmm," Felix rubbed his chin, knowing exactly where he should go. "Since you said this planet is hostile, I should avoid civilization and live in the wild! Therefore, north, east, and west are not options. Through the elimination process, the only place I should go is the south! To the purple mist forest, we go!"

Jessica smacked her forehead with her right palm and shook her head.

<Like ancestor, like descendant. You indeed inherit his genes.>

"Who are you talking about?"

<Nothing. Good luck.>

"Yeah! Let's go!"

---

Following the stone road into the purple forest, Felix's nose twitched. The sour and rotten odor annoyed him so much that he covered his nose with his t-shirt.

"Man, this place is worse than Orlando swamps. I bet those lizards back home would call this place a slum," Felix complained as he looked around, searching for a clear spot to set up his tent.

As Felix proceeded further, the forest grew thicker. Fortunately, the road continued, and no creatures appeared to stop Felix from exploring.

After walking five miles, Felix round a deadend as the road was cut off by tree roots. On the left side of the road, a lonely wooden cabin situated there, surrounded by thorn vine fences. Crimson rafflesia flowers bloomed on the thorny vines. Upon closer inspection, Felix noticed that each flower had an eyeball inside, looking back at him. Their petals extended small teeth and digestive fluid, eagerly waiting for Felix to touch them.

Felix silently pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the nearest flower.

"Jesus F-KING Christ! What the hell is this?!" Stepping away from the flowers, Felix looked at the house and asked Jessica, "Is this a witch's house?"

<No clue.>

"Seriously?"

<Aside from what your ancestor provided, I'm just as clueless you. Keep exploring, and I might unlock more information for>

Felix frowned but decided to brave the danger. He climbed over the thorn fences and approached the ominous-looking flowers. Reaching the front of the cabin, he knocked on the door.

"Hello? Anybody home?"

This sentence usually spelled doom in horror movies, but Felix wasn't afraid of monsters or ghosts. After waiting a minute with no response, he knocked again.

"Is there anybody home? Hello?"

Still, no answer came. Taking the liberty, Felix tried to open the door, but it was locked from the inside. He then attempted to peek inside through the front window.

Through the window, Felix saw an empty house with only a wooden rocking chair. There were no signs of anyone living there, sparking his curiosity. Finding the window unlocked, he opened it and climbed inside to explore.

The cabin appeared deserted, but as he ventured further back, Felix noticed a wide hole and scratch marks that seemed to be from a wild beast. He smacked his forehead, realizing he could have checked for a back entrance.

Exploring deeper, Felix discovered a broken skeleton in ragged clothes, likely the previous owner. Beside the skeleton lay a broken rusty sword and a rotten wooden shield. The rooms contained nothing but decaying furniture and clothing.

Feeling a sense of danger, Felix readied his assault rifle and moved toward the back exit, scanning for threats. Exiting the house, he found an entrance to a strange cave resembling a giant monster skull, decorated with torches made of purple wood.

Felix clicked his tongue. "What have I gotten myself into?"

<You shouldn't have entered the forest in first place.>

"But I needed materials for the shelter…"

<You could have completed the quest by renting a room in an inn or tavern.>

"…"

<Anyway, I have scanned and discovered a point of interest. The main quest will be updated.>
