'500 mana fine?! Are you serious?! What's the point of this?!' Felix retorted in his mind.

Felix was skeptical about the quest, wondering why he needed to help this family. He scratched his head in frustration. But in the end, he agreed to it as he didn't want to lose 500 mana.

"Alright. I need information," Felix said, giving Adam and Roland a meaningful look. "Tell me everything about the Turo House and how you plan to leave this city. Also, the reward is the mansion, right?"

Roland and Adam looked at each other and nodded. 

That afternoon, the group spent hours discussing the plan to leave this city.

The next morning, Roland, Valley, Adam, two maids, and Felix gathered in front of the manor. A carriage was ready for them. Adam, Valley, Roland, and the elder maid, Mary, entered the carriage. Another maid served as a coachman while Felix accompanied her as the only escort on this mission.

The young maid, who introduced herself as Jane, masterfully maneuvered the horses and drove the carriage out of the mansion's premises. The carriage quietly passed through the inner city's checkpoint, with no soldier bothering to stop them because of the carriage's insignia.

Sitting next to Jane, Felix inclined his seat and mumbled to himself.

"So much for the escort. I thought they would hire mercenaries to accompany us. In the end, I'm the only bodyguard here?"

"We're very sorry, sir mage. We're short on funds. This is the best we can do." Jane sighed while navigating the carriage through the outer city district, heading toward the south exit.

"They can give away the entire mansion to me, but they can't even hire a bodyguard or mercenary?!"

"This matter is complicated, sir. We have too many enemies…" Jane paused and lowered her head. She seemed frustrated and bitter.

Felix glanced at the maid. She looked to be in her early 20s, her wavy blonde hair glistening under the sunlight. Her facial features were strikingly similar to Lisa from Blackpink, except for her nose and blue eyes. However, the freckles on her pretty face degraded her charm.

Being at the age of reproduction, Felix's mind was clouded by hormones, and he kept sneaking glances at the young maid's face and shoulders. His thoughts were full of imagined conversations, thinking of how he should break the ice and initiate a conversation with her.

As Felix was attracted to Jane, his eyes wandered and noticed the rough hands of the maid. There were knife scars on the backs of both her hands. Her fingers and palms seemed rough, and blisters concentrated on the upper palms. At a glance, they seemed to be the consequences of the hard work and chores she had done throughout the years. However, the blisters on the middle parts of her inner fingers reminded Felix of seasoned baseball players, golfers, and professional athletes who endured the feedback impact forces of a blunt object.

Why would a maid have that? Felix frowned.

Because of his random thoughts, Felix created a fantasy scenario in which the maid was a sleeper agent hired by the Turo House to get close to Roland's family, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

'Heh. No way it will happen,' Felix inwardly laughed and glanced at the maid's waist, leering at her.

However, there was a movement in her maid uniform as the carriage traveled on the bumpy stone road in the outer city. Felix noticed the vague stick shape of a concealed knife or hidden weapon.

Felix's brain froze. His boner was killed.

A maid bodyguard?

A maid assassin?

Friend or foe? 

Which was it?

For the sake of safety, Felix withdrew a Beretta pistol from his inventory and hid it underneath his suit, keeping the muzzle pointed at the maid. If she attempted any betrayal, he was ready to shoot her.

Meanwhile, Jane inwardly sighed, contemplating her new assignment. 

The previous night, Adam and Roland had summoned her to their office and given her an order: seduce Felix and investigate if he was an assassin from the Turo House. She was to use any means necessary to gather information, even if it meant using her body. 

Frustrated by the task, Jane thought to herself.

'When will I ever get a husband if I keep being used as a disposable spy? At this rate, I'll be 30 before I can get married!'

While thinking, Jane secretly glanced at Felix's eyes, observing his behavior and subtle gestures. 

To her surprise, this man had been ogling her! Noticing a subtle movement in Felix's pants, she realized he was aroused.

'Hoh?' Jane inwardly grinned, feeling proud of her looks and body. Having trained in martial arts, she was confident in her appearance. 

'Isn't he quite young? Maybe the lord is overthinking. He's just an ordinary man...with a charming face, wait.'

Suddenly, Jane had a revelation. Felix was a young mage, who had thrown away ten gold coins just to stay in the mansion for the first night. 

He is rich!

He is young!

He is talented!

He is handsome!

A PERFECT HUSBAND MATERIAL!

Jane's eyes glittered with determination. If Felix wasn't working for the Turo House, she would make him hers. 

Putting her scheme to work, Jane turned to Felix and brightly smiled, "Sir mage, by chance, do you have a lover?"

Felix was taken aback and slightly lowered his gun. "No. Why are you asking?"

Jane grinned lewdly, unbuttoning and peeling her upper maid uniform to reveal her shoulders and cleavage. However, Felix noticed a blade scar on her back.

"I'm wondering why a young mage like you is still single. Aren't you lonely at night?"

"…Not really."

Felix's brows furrowed deeply. If he hadn't noticed the concealed weapon and the suspicious scars on her body, he might have already fallen for the honey trap. His hand tightened around the gun in his suit, praying that the scenario in his head wouldn't become reality.

Jane leaned closer and whispered, "Haven't you been looking at my breasts? Would you like to see more?"

Felix wryly smiled, "Ma'am, please calm your tits. I'm here to work, not to... HOLY @#$%!"

Jane became more aggressive. She grabbed Felix's hand and placed it inside her dress, touching her ample chest.

"Please help yourself, sir mage. I've been ordered to provide you with services. If you wish to partake of me, you can also do so tonight... or now."

"By the way, can you tell me about your hometown? How did you train to become a mage?"

"Err…"

While seducing Felix, Jane gently stroked his nether region.

Facing such seduction, Felix gulped and started praying to his ancestors, trying to calm the fire in his pants. He pulled his hand out of her dress and coughed, "Let's talk about this later."

Jane giggled but refused to remove her hand from his pants. From the mansion to the outer gate checkpoint, she continued massaging him.

The carriage made its way to the south gate checkpoint. The militia guards didn't bother stopping the vehicle and opened a path for them. Proceeding south, the carriage traveled along the road, heading directly toward the purple forest.

Felix watched the road and observed Jane as she controlled the reins to steer the horses. However, whenever the road straightened, Jane held the ropes with one hand while the other hand nimbly peeled back her clothes, revealing her undergarments and firm thighs.

Jane inched closer to Felix, allowing him a better view. She whispered, "No one can see us. The peasants on the farms won't even bother looking at what we're doing."

Felix turned around and looked at the design of the carriage. Behind him, the seat blocked the front view of the passengers. Thus, Adam, Roland, Valley, and the elder maid couldn't see what they were doing.

As Jane grew more aggressive, Felix whispered back, "Can't you wait until nightfall?"

Jane licked her lips. "I just can't wait to please you, my lord. You see, as a lowly servant, there aren't many chances to find a good man."

"Are you sure? There are plenty of good men on the streets."

"Not as handsome and rich as you, my lord."

"…"

She was too direct. Felix was taken aback. 

"I don't have to be your mistress, my lord. A concubine will do as long as you allow me to follow you."

Jane's actions started to get out of hand. Felix couldn't trust her. "What about Roland and Valley? Aren't you serving them?"

"They can't even pay me a copper for my work. If my step-parents weren't dead set on serving them, I would have ditched them long ago."

Jane gestured at the carriage, hinting that the elder maid inside was her mother while Adam was her father.

Felix raised his eyebrows and softened his grip on the gun, wondering if he was overly paranoid.

Unfortunately, the teasing quickly ended as they arrived at the forest territory, and the carriage was forced to stop.

"So, what now?" Felix asked, looking at the road ahead, which would lead them to the abandoned cabin.

Jane pointed at an intersection ahead, indicating a dirt path. A signboard at the intersection read that Terra City, which belonged to Roland's son, was in that direction.

"We go there," Jane said, pointing at the dirt road.

"What about the forest?" Felix asked curiously.

"There are monsters there. We won't be risking it."

"…Alright," Felix agreed.
