5 Chapter 5

As he slowly woke up and opened his eyes, Renato got up and went to the refresher, finished his morning business, and then sleepily jumped into the sonic shower. But as soon as he entered, he was dumbfounded when the sonic shower differed completely from yesterday. As he quickly thought through on what could have caused the change, his thoughts landed on the huragoks.

They probably continued doing their thing while he was sleeping since they didn't need as much sleep as normal organics needed. Shrugging his shoulders, Renato turned on the sonic shower. Immediately, the sonic shower started, and he felt the same sensation of all the dirt slipping off of him like yesterday. But this time it was over in an instant and didn't take the 15 seconds wait-time it took yesterday.

Now freshened up, he started walking towards the canteen. He observed that the ship was completely different from yesterday. Feeling doubtful, he looked back into his bedroom to see something different as well. How the heck did they change that without ever waking him up?

The complete ship now had completely different internals. He decided he would tour the ship after he ate breakfast. Coming to breakfast, there was another meat dish. He had given up any dreams to eat normal breakfast items at least until they had a steady supply of food, which meant that for the foreseeable future until he left the planet he would be living on hunted meat or until he creates a farming droid and similar.

Now that he had to tour the ship, he started it from the outside to inside. Coming outside, he saw that the outside was virtually unchanged, except the ion thrusters looked somewhat smaller and the ship overall looked much sleeker. Going inside, however, he observed something immediately. The ship seemed somewhat bigger on the inside now.

Deciding to go and see the most important part of the spaceship, the hyperdrive, he found that the new hyperdrive looked a lot sleeker, and also instead of three separate hyperdrives it previously had. It now had a single large hyperdrive, with two smaller ones attached to it.

When he checked the new rating, he was dumbfounded when it showed a 0.6 hyperdrive rating. This means that with similar hardware, all hyperdrives given to the huragoks can at least be in this range. This had monumental implications that he would need to look into in the future.

As he moved into the bridge, he was shocked, however, because it was so different from the cockpit before and also found the droid brain of the R3 unit was removed. The new cockpit had a lot of the clutter of different switches, and buttons removed.

As he looked through the programming, he found that huragoks had repurposed the droid brain from the R3 unit for the ship, and it wasn't a half-assed job like the Millennium falcon. It was properly reprogrammed and also automated a lot of the systems that needed a Co-pilot, so now it was actually pilotable by a single person.

Other than this, there were also many minor improvements, and even sometimes miniaturisation of the technology, that had created much more space on the ship. The ship now had a 25% increase in the available area.

Honestly, this is why he chose the huragoks even though he had the option to buy the technology for artificial Eezo creation. They were so underrated that it was practically criminal. A 25% increase in available space was trillions of credits investment into the designing and the best part was, the more they disassembled the more they learnt and they didn't stop learning.

Every time they remake a device or piece of technology, they disassemble, learn how it functions, see the pros and cons of the designs and then remake it with the available material to be as efficient as possible to them while maintaining the devices original intention.

With more new knowledge they learn and the different viewpoints they see, they make new huragoks and pass down that knowledge. But now that he had finished going through the ship, Renato was bursting from excitement about finally getting some holocrons and starting his formal training on the force.

"Paddy, Qiuying, I am ready, let's go into the vault.", Renato didn't take the huragoks with him this time because it was possible for them to be controlled by the sith artefacts or even be possessed if there were any artefacts with spirits in them.

So, they quickly retraced yesterday's path and reached the vault door he unlocked yesterday, and opened the door with a telekinetic pull and inside the vault was empty.

"What the heck? Why is it empty?" complained Renato

"It looks like the Jedi took the easy way in, young master," commented Paddy as she pointed towards a collapsed ceiling forming a ramp-like structure into the room.

"Why would you use a gigantic vault door if you didn't even bother to fortify the walls! Ah, my beautiful dreams of learning all the force powers."

"Young Master, you don't need to be too disappointed, there is a high chance that anything under collapse would not have been retrieved. "

As soon as Paddy finished her sentence, the previously dispirited eyes of Renato immediately lit up and he got into his meditation and asked the force to help him repair this room like he repaired the corridor yesterday.

Slowly, all the dirt, duracrete rose into the air and arranged themselves back into their previous shape which if Renato had observed was passively given by the use of his psychometric abilities, as if putting back a broken jigsaw puzzle together and fit back into the walls of the room, but unlike the corridor, this time there was too much weight to actually hold its own place so he needed to hold it up with telekinesis.

When he examined the now cleared area, Renato was absolutely giddy. Under the collapse were two Jedi Holocrons, an ancient metal sword, a data slate and what looked like a double-sided pyramid crystal of some kind.

"Yes, I don't have to totally stumble my way through everything to try and use different force techniques."

He quickly pulled the objects towards him, and then slowly lowered the reassembled wall and landed it on the ground.

Now that part of the exploration was finished, he was about to return to the ship when Qiuying asked for a favour.

"Mr Renato, can you please search the enclave above for any lightsabers of the dead Jedi masters? It is one of my duties to take care of all the lightsabers of the dead Jedi and I would like to do the honours for the late Jedi masters if it hasn't been done already."

"Of course," said Renato as they quickly made it to the top. Once again, there were collapsed structures everywhere. These, however, didn't look natural and looked like they were blown up.

Renato quickly used his telekinesis and psychometric skills to reconstruct and hold the building while Qiuying and Paddy looked through the building. While Qiuying was taking Jedi skeletons and lightsabers, Paddy was searching anywhere for useful tech to bring back to the ship.

Quickly, 3 minutes passed by and Renato was feeling the strain of holding up an entire building.

"Paddy and Qiuying I can only hold for 2 minutes more and why are you guys working at a human pace? You guys are droids, you can do it full speed"

"Of course, we will do it full speed," replied both of them before they sped up like crazy.

It only took them 30 more sec at full speed before they completely cleared the building of everything they needed to take. Seeing that they were finished collecting, Renato slowly let go of his telekinesis as the building collapsed once more.

"So, what did you guys find?"

"I have found four lightsabers and this container which is full of the bones of the Jedi masters"

"What I have found are mostly in various levels of damage, but I have found some mouse droids, two protocol droids, one utility droid, one medical droid, and one holonet transceiver. I also found a lot of blasters but many of them look unusable. They at least have a lot of canisters of tibanna gas."

Renato was definitely happy with paddy's haul, a Holonet transceiver meant that if the relay was functional, they could connect to the holonet and if the holonet was anything like the internet from back home, he could practically learn all the knowledge of the Star Wars universe.

Qiuying then took all the bones he collected and buried them, after that they went back to the ship. As soon as he entered the ship, Renato took all the items from the vault to his room so that he could start looking through them.

First was the data slate, and in the data slate, there were intense experimental results on synthetic Kyber crystals. There wasn't any manufacturing technique mentioned, but these experimental results coupled with having actual Kyber crystals meant that if he put some effort into it, he could possibly recreate it.

The two holocrons as he studied them, looked like any other Jedi Holocron he had seen, but them being in the vault either meant that these holocrons had dangerous knowledge and techniques or had been of fallen Jedi or a traitor Jedi.

Finally, he had come to the double pyramid crystal. Something about the crystal seemed familiar, but he couldn't place why. So, Renato quickly delved into his memories of his previous life, searching for the memory related to the crystal and he found a mention of it in his memories. The crystal was actually the Holocron of A'nang.

The Holocron of A'nang was a Holocron of the last Tythonian Kwa. He remembered that the Holocron seemingly shut itself down after seeing the skull of a Rakata. Deeply hoping that he could open the Holocron, Renato slowly meditated and connected with the force.

Then he channelled the force through him and to the crystal, touching it, and sending a message that he was here because he needed guidance. Renato kept doing this for about an hour when the Holocron finally started glowing and the physical representation of A'nang showed up.

"+-=-@^??^!-&%%%@*_@%@_%*?@+=?-_&"

And Renato couldn't understand anything. A'nang seemed to see that Renato could not understand the language, and then Renato felt an intrusion in his mindscape. The intrusion showed up in the control panel of the mindscape requesting the knowledge of the language, so Renato gave permission for viewing knowledge of the galactic basic and the probe vanished after copying the knowledge.

"My name is A'nang, so who are you and why have you awoken me, young one?"

"Greetings Master, my name is Renato, and I have awoken you so as to learn the ways of the force."

"Indeed, so how far are you in your studies of the force, young one?"

"Uh, I actually haven't started studying anything on the force yet."

"Hmm, you haven't started studying the force you say? It isn't good to lie young one, one cannot command my Holocron to wake up without using the force and your exceptional mental shields do not help your case."

"No, no, I really haven't been trained in the force. All I know about the force is instinctive knowledge, and the mental shields you felt are something I developed myself."

"Oh, a natural user? Those are rare, very rare indeed. It would, however, explain your abilities. Hmm, very well, I shall teach you in the ways of the force. How much time has passed since I last woke up, young one?"

"Uh, I don't know when was the last time you were woken up?"

"I believe it was during the Rakata invasion of Tython"

"Oh, then it has been above 25000 years then because as far as I know the Rakata have been extinct for a long time."

"Oh? So, what happened to the Je'daii? I remember their promising growth as force users"

"Oh, that I know concretely, after the invasion there was disagreement and the order split itself into two different orders. The Jedi who followed purely the light side of the force and the Sith who followed purely the dark side of the force."

"How foolish! There is no light without darkness, and there is no darkness without light. All they would be in conflict with each other and slowly lose themselves in the force!"

"Wow, the wisdom of the ancients isn't supposed to be underestimated I guess because that is exactly what happened. There have been multiple galaxy-spanning conflicts between the two groups and trillions of deaths across the galaxy caused by their wars over the ages."

"Force!" he cursed out

"Yeah, I guess it isn't all doom and gloom. All the wars meant that there were multiple periods of explosive technological growth and the average comforts of civilian life kept increasing. There are good and bad sides to everything I guess."

"Hmm, yes, there is much wisdom in your words young one, but let us not dwell on the galaxy for the moment. After thinking it through, I have decided to teach you. Know this however, I cannot and will not teach you how to use the force, I will only teach you my understanding of the force and the methods of meditating on the force while acting as an advisor to you. "

"Thank you master A'nang, if I don't sound presumptuous, how is that your Holocron working? The technology used in the Jedi holocrons here hadn't been invented until much later," said Renato happily as he showed him a holocron.

"Hmm, this Holocron I don't feel the presence of force users within these devices. how do they work?"

"They are a form of recording technology where the Jedi master records their teachings."

"That sounds exhausting, can't they just use a spirit imprint?"

"I don't think I have heard of spirit imprint Master, it is possible that the technique has been lost."

"Hoh! Then truly times have been harsh. Spirit imprinting is a method in which a force user can imprint all of their life on an object to create a Holocron. This method makes sure that all the experiences the person has are available for future generations. While the object has all the experiences of the person, it cannot however grow anymore since it is not alive, thus resets each time back to its original state each time it is activated.

That is why as a workaround to this was created and thus there is a special memory bank in the Holocron that records the changes which the spirit accesses each time it wakes up. Anyhow, that is enough on holocrons. We will start your classes tomorrow." said A'nang as he disappeared.

Overall, Renato was happy with how the conversation between him and A'nang went. He had to act as if he did not know what was happening most of the time while he felt a little disappointed that A'nang refused to teach any force techniques; he was more than happy just to get a perspective on the nature of the force from a person who had used both sides of it.

Now that he was finished with the holocron of A'nang, Renato turned towards the two Jedi holocrons. Even if A'nang refused to teach him force techniques, that didn't mean that there weren't other sources for learning techniques.

Further thinking about it, it was actually more than likely that techniques from the Jedi holocrons would actually be more refined than anything A'nang could teach as they had been refined over the existence of the Jedi, probably much better because of their constant fight against the Sith.

He decided he would check the Jedi holocrons after eating some food. He had noticed that because of his new biology; he had to eat much more food to keep up his current exponential growth rate. He would, however, need to go through the experimental data on him to further know the exact amount of food he should consume to have an ideal growth.
