The Blindness Cured

The students were completely bewildered, but after the teachers explained the situation to them, they understood. Seth, Spencer, and Jack stayed back in the crowd of kids, they were waiting for anything to happen at any moment. Seth could tell that the teachers were losing the battle with the attackers. Seth reconnected to his magic sense so he could see the fight better. He could only see the teachers well though, as the attackers had the magic blocking cloaks. Seth saw a few teachers get thrown by a single attacker, he seemed to be the leader. The attackers also seemed to have a plan in mind rather than just attacking the teachers for no reason.

Seth felt a chill run down his spine and he saw a faint glimmer of an elemental that seemed to warn him of an attack. One of the attackers must have noticed him watching. Seth blocked the attack, a throwing knife, and didn't fight back, he hoped not to be dragged into the battle at all. Unluckily for Seth, he was dragged into the conflict. The man who had attacked Seth sped towards him in a fit of rage, nobody could just stand by in this battle. Seth, seeing the man pounce on him, took his dagger out of his inventory and filled his limbs with elementals.

Seth slashed a single time, but that was enough. The man was sliced in half with a single blow, his blood splattering all over Seth's small body. Seth licked his lips clean and his mouth stretched into a grin. Seth crouched down and got ready to join the fray in the distance. He bounded towards the unknowing attackers, nothing on his mind but the taste of blood. Seth cut off a man's head, cut another in half, and stabbed everyone in sight. Seth didn't stop hacking at every living thing within reach until Spencer knocked him down and forced his hands behind his back.

Seth struggled against Spencer for a few minutes before his rage receded and he beheld the destruction he had caused. There were countless people lying on the ground, barely breathing. Both teachers and attackers were subject to Seth's small blade. Very few teachers died though, which made Seth feel a bit better about the attack, but a few innocent teachers had still died. Seth healed all of the teachers and finished off all but a few of the dying attackers. He gave the attackers to the teachers and offered his condolences for the dead ones.

When Seth had first attacked the man and gone into a murderous rage, he had been too fast for Jack and Spencer to even see anything. The boys could only catch him after he had almost tired himself out. They couldn't see elementals very well so they could only see a few elementals get pulled towards Seth and disappear into his body. Jack and Spencer had much less strength than Seth did as well, so they had to use their momentum and the right timing to knock him hof his feet. When trying to stop Seth, they realized just how large the gap between them was.

Seth left the group without a word, he had something important to do. He went back into the woods and disappeared into the ground. He soon appeared before a man in a ragged cloak, running from the direction of the fight. The cloak had magic blocking properties, but because of how damaged it was, Seth could still easily sense the man. The man, upon seeing Seth appear out of nowhere, jumped and turned to run the other way. Seth just stopped him by telling the earth elementals to worm walls around him. Seth snatched his cloak and picked the man off the ground. He knocked him out and Inspected him.

Seth knew that he had stumbled upon yet another cult. He had read about a cult that denounced and hated magic. They were all not allowed to use anything that was associated with magic. They also found a way to cause people to be unable to use magic, this also caused their physical bodies to become much stronger. Seth didn't know the name of the cult, but it was rather large and was one of the strongest cults in existence. They were in direct opposition to most sects and a few other magical cults. Seth felt that the teachers garbs had something to do with this cult coming. The teachers were likely impersonating another cult that used magic, thus the flames everywhere.

Seth was impressed by the man's one Luck, that was exactly what he was looking for himself. He felt that being hated by the world would be a lot better than relying on it.

Seth suddenly felt a shock run through his body, wherever it ran it made him feel cleaner and purified. The shock grew stronger as it ran up and back and through his head. His eyes felt a sharp, stinging sensation before becoming numb as he closed them. Seth shook off the pain, feeling much cleaner and more refreshed than ever before Seth looked at the man, he had stabbed him with a small metal object. Seth knocked the man out again and looked at the object, it was a lot like a taser. The man had somehow gotten a taser, which shouldn't even exist in this world. Seth looked incredulously at the man, then back at the tazer.

Seth suddenly touched his face, he could see. Seth looked back at the taser. It seemed that the electricity from the taser had healed him somehow. Seth remembered hearing about a man who had used something called electrotherapy to speed up his healing. Seth's vision wasn't very good still, and everything was a bit blurry. Seth tased himself again, feeling energized as he did so. He tased himself a few more times, feeling better and seeing clearer each time he did so. Seth looked at his arms, only to see that they had become muscular and slightly sparkly since he had last seen them.

Seth's elemental sight had stayed, he could still see countless elementals floating everywhere. He looked around, taking in the sights. Seth tased himself one more time, to see if he could get any better. The taser only released a tiny shock, not enough to even go through Seth's skin. Seth clenched his fist and opened his status to see if anything else had changed.

Not much had changed, except that it said that his cells were stimulated. That was probably due to the electricity, and it was probably the reason that his eyes had healed. Seth felt that a whole new world had been opened up for him. A world where magic wasn't the only thing that he could use and rely on. Seth didn't need magic to heal his eyes, he just needed an electric shock. Seth felt that science might just be stronger than magic for the first time in his life. After all, science had done what magic couldn't and healed his eyes.

Seth told the earth elementals to swallow the man up and bring him to the cave where he had found the light crystal, he would interrogate him later. Seth went back to the group via earth elementals and met with Jack and Spencer. The two immediately noticed something off about him and asked what was wrong. He told them about his sight coming back and they congratulated him. When he saw Spencer and Jack, he was surprised by how normal they looked.

Jack had spikey blonde hair and sharp blue eyes, he was very well built for a kid. Seth felt that he looked like the average hero of fantasy stories. Spencer, however, looked nearly the opposite of Jack. He was tall and lanky, with thick black hair and eyes that glittered with ever-changing colors. Seth could feel though, that Spencer's skinny limbs contained a massive power. Spencer always had a devious smirk on his pale face, while Jack had a righteous smile and kept his head high. Seth felt like his two friends were the hero and villain of every story ever. He had been getting caught up in way too many cliches lately, he was getting quite tired of it.

The class eventually made it back to the castle, none of the students were injured. The teachers must have done a pretty good job at protecting them. The guards saw the teachers bringing the students back early, along with the corpses of a few of their ranks. They opened the gates and called for someone to get the headmaster. The group was now situated in the hall, waiting for the headmaster to come to greet them. They were all pretty tired, so they sat at the large tables and rested for a short while.

The headmaster arrived in a few minutes, not giving much time to rest. The teachers explained what had happened, talking about the attackers in cloaks not using magic. The teachers spoke about Seth's deeds and his act of killing most of the attackers and turning the tides. The headmaster just nodded at this and looked Seth in the eyes, soon noticing how bright they now were. The headmaster left the teachers once they had explained everything. He walked up to Seth and asked about his eyes.

Seth didn't go into detail, only saying that he felt his body go numb for a second and his eyes had healed. He said nothing about the taser, electricity, or the man he had captured for interrogation. The headmaster noticed that Seth was deliberately giving him very little information, but he didn't bother trying to get more. He had already heard enough from the teachers and he knew that Seth wasn't his enemy. He knew that Seth had read a lot of the library's books and probably knew about the cult that had attacked. But seeing as Seth had killed them all, he didn't call him out.

The headmaster left after giving a few things to the teachers. Everyone went back to their rooms and went to sleep, they had class tomorrow after all. Seth wasn't tired, but he slept anyway. He felt that something was watching him and he didn't dare make a move under their observation. Seth would just have to wait until they left to interrogate the man. He sent the guy some food earlier before he had started being watched. Although Seth could probably easily kill the watcher without being noticed, he didn't know who they were or who they were working for. Seth didn't know if the watcher was on his side or if there would be repercussions for killing him.

The next day, the person keeping tabs on Seth had left, but it was time for class. Seth got ready for school and went to class, he didn't have enough time to go and talk to the man in the cave. On his way to class, Seth didn't see very many other students. The ones he did see were also giving him odd looks before hiding away when he saw them. Seth felt all of this was very unusual but not that much considering what he had done last night.

When Seth reached his classroom, he heard a few whispers about what he did last night. Seth ignored them and stepped through the door, meeting a surprise.
